QUOTES AND HUGS

These photos were taken yesterday by Jim when he went fishing. The lake looked lovely and he thought it was the best thing about the day because he didn`t even get a bite !

Today is a very dreary day and it makes it seem very miserable. The weather seems depressed if such a thing were possible. The trees do too, they don`t seem as if they want to shake the last of the leaves off of their branches. It`s just past 2.30pm and it`s dark enough to have to put the light on. I found this poem in this week`s sunday supplement and it has a very warm feeling:

                     GIVE YOURSELF A HUG

                  Give yourself a hug

                   when you feel unloved

                   Give yourself a hug

                    when people put on airs

to make you feel a bug

                    Give yourself a hug

when everyone seems to give you

                      a cold-shoulder shrug

                      Give yourself a hug -

                       a big big hug

                        And keep on singing,

`Only one in a million like me,

                         Only one in a million-billion-thrillion-zillion

                          like me`.     Grace Nichols

Looks like a nice spot for fishing. Not that I'd fish. I'd just sit there, take photos and write.

Nice mix of inspirational stuff today. I liked the Frank Clarke quote too.

The lake looks so beautiful.  Lucky you, we have had to have the lights on since we got up, dread the lecky bill. Yes, it really has been that dark, maybe you have a lot more light coming into your room.  This weather is the sort that really gets me down.  Like perpetual evening. Ho hum.
