Just a few photos taken last November. We were in a place called Burnham Beeches near to where we live. It has the most beautiful trees there. Beeches, mainly pollarded now and some fine old oaks that have been there for centuries, walking through there sometimes you feel as though you have been whisked back in time. You can feel the age of the Forest all around you. There is even the remains of an Iron age moat that goes quite a way round the Beeches.
There is the `Jenny Lind`tree where the Swedish opera singer sat. Also there was a old tree where Mendelsson used to sit when he was visiting his friends locally. Unfortuately, the tree was damaged badly, I think, by fire, and though Park Rangers tried all they could to save it , it died and now , not even the stump can be seen.
