Hello everyone,
Phew...what a day, where do I start? This morning started with Jim waking up with a really bad toothache, he went to the dentist early and was told he has an abcess and prescribed antibiotics. A couple of hours later he was ill in bed with flu-like symptoms and has been there up until about an hour ago. This afternoon after walking Jake, I let him outside and then came up here and went online. Later I went downstairs to find him hobbling around with a very bad limp. I couldn`t tell which leg was troubling him at first but it turned out to be his front left. He doesn`t have anything in his paw but it`s obviously very sore, in fact Jim told me later that he heard him bark and a yelp but as he was half asleep at the time he didn`t pay much attention. I`ve been wracking my tiny brain to think what might have caused it, did the rat bite him? Did someone throw something at him? and then it came to me in a flash. When the wind blew one of our panels down, Jim dug out the old post that supported it, leaving a deep hole by the old fence that is behind the panels. Jake must have seen a cat through the fence and while barking his head off his foot must have slipped down the hole. I suppose he has the equivilant of a twisted ankle...poor love. I`ll keep an eye on himover the next couple of days, restrict his exercise and hopefully he won`t need to see a vet. She`d only prescribe rest and Rimadyl, a strong anti-imflamatory medicine that Hannah used to have and I`d prefer it if he can manage without it.
Jim`s fishing went well yesterday, though not as well as last time. He did catch a 10 lb carp but you`ve seen the pics before so I won`t be posting it. He took my nephew Adam who is 15 and a keen young fisherman himself. Jim and Adam get on really well and have a good time together although Jim has to laugh at some of things that Adam says. He wants to go to veternary school and he already knows the anatomies, in Englishand in Latin of various species including fish. He was telling Jim the Latin for the lungs, brain and stomach of the fish and I`m sure given half the chance he would have dissected one there and then...lol!
I went with Kerry to the Baby clinic this afternoon to get Roman weighed. He has only put on just over 1lb since March but the Health visitor said this was normal and not to worry because he was quite overweight before and he is balancing out nicely now, plus he had that nasty virus which wouldn`t go away and he`s moving around now. However, she wants to weigh him again in three weeks when Kerry gets home from Russia just to see if he`s gained any more weight by then. For reasons best known the the NHS, the baby clinic has been moved from our Dr`s surgery to a community hall nearly a mile away. There`s plenty of room at our surgery so I can`t see why and even the HV isn`t too sure either..sigh.
Anyway I`m off to check on my ailing hubby to see if there`s anything he needs. He`s not eating or drinking anything stronger than water so I doubt I`ll be gone long. For now though, have a nice evening, take care and Bye Bye. :o)))

I hope that Jim feels much better soon, fancy having a toothache and a virus like illness. As for Jake, watch him carefull, you cannot always tell if something goes deep into their pads. If there is any sign of swelling then you must see the vet. Hopefully he has just twisted it. Both boys went through a time of not putting on any weight, they soon start again. Hugs

Aww Sandra poor Jim and poor you!!! Mart had a toothache a while back and I was run ragged seeing to his every whim lol, which they suddenly seem to have a lot of when they're poorly ~ seriously though, an abcess is nasty and I wish him better. Also hope poor Jake's paw is ok ~ isn't it awful when something's up with our pets ~ they can't tell us what's wrong. Glad Jim enjoyed his fishing trip yesterday ~ seems we're all at now the better weather's coming ~ fingers crossed!!! Hope everyone gets better soon and you're able to keep your strength up with it all :-) Take care!

Poor Jim there is nothing worse than toothache ~ and to end up with flu symptoms and have to go to bed ~ he must have felt off colour ~ and poor Jake ~ your men are in the wars lol ~ seriously I do hope they will be OK ~ glad Romans weight is going the right way ~ fancy moving the clinic I expect the NHS has good reasons ~ Ally
I hope Jim gets rid of the infection in his tooth soon and will be able to take all his antibotic so they can do something with it. Sorry about Jakes leg. Hope it gets well soon.
I hope Roman stays well while he is gone. Your graphics are cute and I love the one of Jake. Hugs, Helen
adorable tags.....poor Jake and poor Jim. Poor Sandra for all the mothering/nursing you are doing too. I hope all paws and teeth feel better soon. love, lisa
I hope the medicine for Jim works fast.... I had that a few times and got fever and sick too.... and they can't do anything until it is gone..... poor jake having a sore paw.... will keep him slowed down for awhile to I suspect.... he and Jim can tell each other their problems. Hope tomorrow is better for everyone, Sandra
Poor Jim...I can sympathise on the toothache front. Hopefully the antibiotics will help him. And poor Jake too!! I remember when Ollie hurt his paw and had to get a bandage on it. He was too much of a wimp to walk on it and hobbled around on three legs!! It was a shame...but still quite amusing to see a collie chasing it's tail on three legs!!
Gill xx
Poor old Jim and Jake, I hope they feel better soon! I expect it's because Romans getting around more and having more exercise that he hasn't gained so much. After the first six months they do slow down a lot. Adam sounds like he really knows his fish! Jeannette xx
Hope the Js (Jim and Jake) are feeling better soon, and that you're not next in line at sick call. You all seem to have had more than your share these past months. I'm getting excited about the Russia trip, even though I'm not going. Lots of pics when they get back?
I hope your husband feels better soon. I know that kind of infection can be very serious and can make you very sick as well as give you a bad toothache. I also hope Jake is recovering and won't need a trip to the vet. Kathy
Hope hubby is feeling better soon! Good fishing trip he dad!
Poor Jake, tell him the girls send soft licks his way! LOL
Good news with Roman. ;)
Have a good evening dear.

Love the verse, Sandra, it says it all. I never feel the need to apologise for my dog. Now, Keith's trainers.........
Sorry to hear that Jim's not well bless him - Hope Jake's foot gets better - where would they be without you to look after them both huh??
Goodness you've had a time of it. Poor hubby. I hope he is feeling much better by now. And OH NO, Jake too? Poor pup. Could he have stepped on a nail?
Give him an extra bit of loving from me, OK? I hope Roman stays well. Take care of yourself...and everyone!
