Daisy`s Day

Hello everyone,

A late entry from me today, I wasn`t even going to bother but I`ve read all my journals and have some free time.

I may as well start with a complaint about the weather. I did hope it would stay fine because Kerry and I attended a fete in nearby Windsor to raise money for a little girl called Daisy Day who needs a liver transplant.  She is only five and she is desperately ill and the fete, called Daisy`s Day was to be her special day.  Just before we left home down came the rain but it didn`t keep people away, they were there in droves.  But I wonder if more people would have gone along or spent more time there if it had been dry.  We walked around the stalls and bought some carrot cakes and some fresh fruit salad for only 50p a pot.  The ladies who were selling it thought it was a great idea for a hot day, very thirst quenching.  I really felt for all those volunteers that had worked so hard to make the day perfect.  However, the rain didn`t keep children off of the bouncy castle, or the pony rides.  The Sea Cadets band played on and the Police and the Army were there in force ( to help raise money of course!)  Those soldiers were rather nice though...lol! ;o)  It was a pity about the weather but I`m sure there was a lot of money raised.  I`ll let you know how much when I read the next edition of the local paper.

Roman had another bad night last night and this time he was at home with Kerry. Our American friends use the word `cranky` and I think that`s the perfect way to describe him at at the moment.  There seems to be no pleasing him at all and poor Kerry is worn out, I do worry about them both.  Tonight she is putting him to bed a bit later to see if that will make a difference, his cold is a bit better ( probably because he`s given it to me, Jim and Kerry!) and now she is beginning to wonder if he just doesn`t want to go to sleep...... You won`t believe it but Kerry just rang and she said Roman went to bed at  6 and went straight to sleep!

Anyway,  This cold is really taking hold ofme now and I can`t stop sneezing, so I`ll take my leave of you.  I hope you all have a nice evening.  Bye Bye for now and take care. :o)

I love the idea of "Daisy's Day."  What a wonderful thing that the community did to help that poor little girl.  I do hope everything turns out ok for her.
Sorry you guys are sick.  That's how it is when my son gets sick, too!  He shares it with me!  I hope Roman gets better quickly.  Poor baby...and poor Kerry!
I only wish my son had gone to bed at 6pm when he was little.  That kid was and still is a night owl!  AND he'd get up at 5am ready to roll!  I didn't sleep a full night for the first 4 yrs of his life!!
Enjoy your evening and I hope you feel better.

Poor Roman, I can understand how tired Kerry feels, can you imagine how Becky is, if she is not up with one she is up with the other.  It does not last for ever though, remind Kerry of that.  What a shame about the fete, but it sounds as if they will raise quite a bit of money, we always seem to turn out no matter what the weather but it would have been nice if the sun could have lasted just one more day.  Sorry about your cold. That is the only drawback to having babies and tots around, if they get it.........so do you!  Feel better soon and thanks once again for the package.

I surely hope you all feel better soo!  It's not much fun to have a sick baby on hand and be sick yourself.  Yes, cranky fits nicely for a sick babe.  Or one who is getting some teeth.  Well say a little prayer for you all and also pray that you get good rest.  Blessings, Penny http://journals.aol.com/firestormkids04/FromHeretoThere

So sad about little Daisy.  Such a little girl with such big medical problems.  I hope the day was a big success and that a lot of money was raised to help her.  How wonderful that the community pulls together to help!  So sorry about your cold.  They are so miserable!  Hope you can rest, drink plenty of liquids and take good care of yourself.

I hope the fundraiser was successful for Daisy.  We had friends who had a son that needed a liver transplant (years ago) In 1989 at age 6 he finally got it. It failed and he got a 2nd one. He live one year in glorious health but got a severe infection of some sort and passed away. We so hoped he would live a full life. His father was killed 8 weeks later in a car accident.  I think God wanted him in Heaven with his beloved only child. So I will pray for a good outcome for little Daisy.  Barb

Hi Sandra.
Hope you are feeling better soon and the weather turns pretty for you.  And that Roman comes out of his "cranky" spell.  He's probably cutting teeth or something.
I've missed you.  It's been 16 entries since I've been here according to bloglines which keeps up with the number of posts since I was here.
Gotta read on so I can see what all you and Kerry and Roman have been up to.  I'm sure it includes shopping?  he he.

Roman being cranky is going to pass in time...Kerry is such a good Mom.
Hugs and love,

Do hope they managed to raise plenty of money with the fete...What a good idea the fresh fruit salads are :o) Are you sure it's a cold you have and not hayfever as it does sound like hayfever which can be really debilitating :o(  Sounds like roman is cutting more teeth or he could possibly have hayfever too...Garath first had to go on meds for hayfever at 5 weeks old and has been plagued with it ever since    Caff xxx
