Hello everyone,
I hope you`re all having a really nice weekend so far. I didn`t post an entry yesterday as I was out for most of the day with Kerry. We went shopping in Uxbridge to buy some of the things needed for their trip to Russia in just over a weeks time. She bought a lovely outfit for Roman to wear to his Aunt Julia`s wedding in St. Petersburg, and she needed a rucksack for the flight itself. Kerry has got so much to carry onboard the plane, most of it being for Roman. She has to take his milk formula and food, nappies, wet wipes, tissues etc. and even some toys for him to play with, plus she will have to carry Roman and his buggy on to the plane, so she isn`t looking forward to the journey at all. Mind you, it`s not so much this end but St.Petersburg that worries her the most. At least over here she can ask for help and as a seasoned traveller she knows what to expect, but in Russia it`s very different and she`ll be left to her own devices and will even have to carry everything down the esculator which wouldn`t be necessary here. I`m sure she`ll cope as she`s so organised it won`t be for lack of trying on her part.
On Thursday night I was up at 5am loading the washing machine as Roman was very sick in the night. We can only think that something didn`t agree with him because he was fine the evening before. The poor little chap was really upset as he must have had a very sore tummy but after a while he drifted off to sleep again and didn`t wake until 8am when you wouldn`t have known he had been ill at all. He ate his breakfast with relish and was all smiles and giggles. It`s unbelievable how quickly babies recover, if only we could do the same.
Today is wet and horrible again, despite having a lovely, warm day yesterday it now feeling quite cool again. Anyway, Jim and I went to the garden centre cafe where we hadour usual cappuchino and a light lunch. I decided to buy a few more flowers for the patio so I bought some cape daisies that I liked the look of, and some more compost to plant them in of course. Jim wants to get another trough to put under the back downstairs window that that will mean more flowers. Now all we need is the good weather to get the best out of them.
This Clematis flowered only yesterday and as it was a bargain buy with no tag on it I had no idea what the flower would look like. I planted it originally to grow up a small Magnolia but it`s outgrown it`s host already and will have to be moved along to a trellis just behind it. I think once it`s a year or two old it will look lovely with the saucer-sized blooms growing up the fence.
Well, I must go now as I have to put a casserole in the oven. Have a great day wherever you are and I hope the weather is being kind to you. Bye Bye for now. :o)
The Way Things Were
Anon.
A computer was something on TV
From a science fiction show of note
Windows were something you hated to clean
And ram was the cousin of a goat.
Meg was the name of my girlfriend
And gig was a job for the nights
Now they all mean different things
And that really mega bites.
An application was for employment
A program was a TV show
A curser used profanity
A keyboard was a piano.
Memory was something you lost with age
A CD was a bank account
And if you had a three-inch floppy
You hoped nobody found out.
Compress was something you did to the garbage
Not something you did to a file.
And if you unzipped in a public place
You'd get locked up for awhile.
Log on was adding wood to the fire
Hard drive was a trip on the road
A mouse pad was where a rodent lived
And a back up happened to your commode.
Cut you did with a pocket knife.
Paste you did with glue
A web was a spider's residence
And a virus was the flu.
I guess I'll stick to paper and pen
And the memory I have in my head
N obody gets killed in a computer crash
But when it happens, they'll wish they were dead.

You have SMASHING tags to show us today, huh?! Love them. That Clematis is gorgeous. I killed one last year. :(( I would be a nervous wreck if i were flying to Russia. I will keep Roman and Kerry in my prayers. She is going to have her hands full. Glad that Roman is feeling better. He is such a doll and always recovers so quickly, thank goodness.

Sandra I am sure Kerry will be OK the other end ~ is she going to be met at the airport ? sounds like she is going to be laden down with the things she has to take with her ~ Glad Roman got over his sickness so quickly they are down one minute and up the next ~ look forward to seeing those wedding photos and Romans outfit ~ how long is Kerry going for ? ~ I don't think you can have too many flower pots in the garden and it is nice because you can move them around ~ hope you have a lovely rest of the week~end ~ Ally
Beautiful tags! Glad Roman is feeling better. Poor baby.
Let us know how the trip to Russia goes. I'm sure she'll manage alright. I remember travelling to the East Coast with my baby when he was 1yr old. I overpacked, too! Too many toys! That made it rough.
Enjoy your weekend.

What great tags and pics. Sandra, I LOVE the funnies you put at the end of your entries. They always leave with a smile and a chuckle. Glad Roman is feeling better. I hope he stays well. How is kerry doing? Only a little over a week before she leaves? Wow. How exciting. I sure hope they help her deplane and get all that stuff to a terminal. And I hope you send along lot of her pics when you can share them.
Have a wonderful weekend
Barb
Hi, what beautiful graphics, and the clematis is beautiful, lucky buy there Sandra.
I hope the weather is good tomorrow because with three little girls to entertain, it would be easier if the rain holds off, then we can go for a walk, feed the horses, pick bluebells...
hope the casserole was tasty, makes me feel hungry thinking about food at the moment.

I hope Kerry and Roman find someone that can help them in Russia that speaks English. When I arrived in Mexico I was helped by some nice people find my bus that spoke English. It is amazing that there are people who really care about strangers. Your garden should look great and make such nice photos. The graphics are beautiful and I was lucky this time and they all loaded. The computer poem was fun. mark
Oh I used to be afraid to go to the grocery store by myself with a baby, so I can't imagine having to travel with everything + the baby by myself.
I know she is exicted about the trip itself though.
Glad Roman is not sick anymore. Babies do get over things quickly. They sure can make us worry.
