A Sore Nose!

Hello everyone,

I hope you`ve all had a nice day. The weather has been dry and warm, just what we wanted for yesterday afternoon.  I`m sure we`re in for a storm soon, the sky is very dark and threatening and there`s been the odd spot of rain. It doesn`t matter what the weather does at this time of the day so it can rain all it likes for all I care.

This morning was taken up with ironing and cleaning then later I made a net curtain out of a voile blind that I don`t use anymore. It`s plain white and the same as the front door panel and I think I made a good job considering I`m next to useless with a needle and thread, all this despite being full of cold.  Now that the decorating is all but finished I`ve been clearing all the bedrooms where Jim`s work stuff has been stored.  It`s so nice to have my house back and not tripping over paint pots or treading on screws that were lying around.

When Jim got home from work this afternoon we took Jake to the back field for his walk.  When we got there we met the local vicar walking her two collies, Toby and Sam.  They are beautiful dogs but Sam doesn`t like other dogs and doesn`t play with Jake or any other dog, Toby on the other hand is really friendly and adores Jake.  As we walked around the dogs were playing with tennis balls when suddenly a Sam lunged at Jake and sank his teeth into his nose.  Poor Jake just stood there as Sam shook him around, it was horrible to watch.  As it happened it was nowhere as bad as it looked and they all carried on as if nothing happened.  Jake though had learned a valuable lesson where Sam is concerned.  Do NOT try to take his tennis ball away from him.....ever!  Jake has no injuries apart from hurt pride and a slightly tender nose. When we parted company with the vicar we noticed there were a couple of broken bird`s nests on the ground, it looked as though it had been done deliberately....people can be so cruel at times. Why would they want to do a thing like that?

Not much else has happened today so I`ll leave you all now.  I hope you all enjoy your evening so take care.  Bye Bye for now. :o)

Oh, Poor Jake.  Sometimes lessons are hard learned.  So glad he wasn't hurt.  I do love your graphic this morning.  It is so pretty with the butterflies!  Made me want to go to the florist and buy a bouquet!   Hope your cold is better and that the rest of your day is very nice.                         Kathy

Ah poor Jake, lucky he is so good tempered and did not retaliate.  What a stunning graphic.  I am seeing such lovely graphics on peeps pages these days and never know where they find them.  I visit loads of sites and have not come across anything like yours.  I am no good with a needle and thread either so you did a good job making that curtain.  It will be so nice to have your home back to normal. Do not forget to post piccies.

Poor Jake, hope the sore nose doesn't cause any problems for him. That is bad when someone is so mean that they get pleasure from destroying things. Hope you feel a  lot better tomorrow. Hugs, Helen

I am sure Salty would do the same thing, and have it done to him likewise.    They are not vicious like the breeds that are real killers of other dogs.    There is a ban on Pit Bulls in some areas.    One got loose weeks ago and killed a man's small dog and attacked him and injured him.     The dog was caught and no one came forth to claim him and that is the last heard of it with the dog facing being put to sleep without the owner coming forward.    Another day a breeder on TV talked about Pit Bulls and how the owner's play a part in making them killers.    They are dog's that are like loaded guns and need special restrictions.    Now that Salty has his pen he is able to run and release his energy.    Even though I know he goes to the next road where he is welcome at some neighbors, there is another neighbor that may have shot him with a pellet gun but it did not break the skin and just left a spot without hair.    I don't even know for sure, but when I first got him and walked by them a woman shouted to me "leave of alone", and I didn't say anything back.    She had a tiny little barking dog running loose and the trailor next door had a dog on a chain.      As I said, the new pen is fantastic for him.    I throw him the stick and he runs and gets it and then runs right back at me or into me ,  lol,    and won't let me have it.     He is loosing weight and putting on muscle.    mark

poor Jake ..wonder what he will do when he sees Sam again? I took in  an 8 year old Springer Spaniel ( the people who had her since a puppie wanted rid of as they were moving to a new house) and though a lovely placid natured dog I discovered she would go for Alsations, snapping and growling at them. Apparantly she herself had been attacked by one as a pup and obviously developed the response of attacking them first! Glad you are getting your house back in order.   Eve

Your graphics are so nice.  I would love to snag a couple of them, if they are snaggable!!  Have a great week and give Jake a scratch behind the ears from me and a woof from my Jake and Frodo too.
