Hello everyone,
Welcome to Tuesday`s edition of my Scribbles. It`s just an ordinary day with very little happening, the weather is sunny, well it was, it`s clouding over now and i think it`s going to rain. Nothing new there then! I`ve been on the computer since 9.30 this morning backing up all my graphic files to the external hard drive. With my luck the computer will crash and I`d lose the lot so it`s best to be safe than sorry. I do have some of them on disk but I`m always collecting new ones, so this way each time I get a new one I`ll copy them as I go along.
While I was sorting through all my saved photos I came across one of Hannah, our old Lab who passed on in Oct 2004. She`s about five or six in this photo and I`d almost forgotten how gorgeous she looked back then. I still miss her even now as she was the most special dog that I`d ever owned and so loyal and loving I would have trusted her with my life. She was loved by all who met her and there were many.
The new curtains arrived this morning and they look really nice. Jim kept saying that he really liked them and he`s not one to go overboard about anything. Each new addition to the hall makes things just that bit better and I can`t wait for it to be finished. Jim and his mate Gary are laying the laminate flooring on Friday and then Jim will book an appointment for the carpet to be fitted, hopefully on Monday.....not long to go now!
The engineer came back with the part for the tumble dryer and now I can use it....yippee! The main reason I`m pleased it`s working again is that I like to line dry the towels and bring them in when they`re still damp, put them in the dryer for 10 minutes and they come out soft and fluffy. At the moment they`re very scratchy and I want fluffy again...lol! Now the boiler and the dryer are repaired, next on our list is the dishwasher. Jim wants it fixed as much as me because he doesn`t like helping with the drying up so if that`s not a good reason then nothing is...lol!
I`m going to get Jake out for his walk in a moment as the sky is looking quite threatening and I don`t fancy getting caught in a downpour, so I`ll say goodbye for now. Oh yes, before I go, thanks to those of you that have signed my guestbook and left really nice comments. I`ve enjoyed reading them. For now then, enjoy your day and I`ll be back to tomorrow.:o)
Dog Training
'It'll change your life,' I was informed
The day that I acquired a dog.
'Buy a super vacuum cleaner,
Pay the vet and start a blog!'
'You'll have to do dog-training classes!
Learn to sit; to fetch; say ''Please''. '
We tried it once and it was boring
Except - my dog can count to three!
We started classes of our own
My dog and I, in our own home
The classes all were based on this -
'Do as I say, then have a bone!'
'P/E,' said I (feeling a fool)
Every morn' at half past eight
The high-jump, starting with a stool
Progressing to the garden gate
At ten we did arithmetic
The calendar was opened out
'Pay attention little dog -
Weekends and holidays don't count!'
In afternoons she'd learn to sit
With other people, till she's fed
She wags her tail to gain their trust
Then she remembers all I've said.
The final lesson took a while
But finally she understood
'Is it three days, not counting hols'?
Then come and meet me in the wood.'
I've sold her now a dozen times
And she's had twelve enormous bones
She stays with them three working days
The cheque has cleared - then she runs home!

got your journal to open eventually after a long time!!
We are lucky here Sandra, the sun is still shining brightly. What a wonderful picture of Hannah. I know you still miss her. Funnily enough I have just been to Pip's journal and added a little graphic on the side bar. Silly maybe, but I still miss him despite Jack and I needed to do it. You have reminded me I must back up my graphics. Apparently there was a problem here with our local exchange an a lot of BT customers got their broadband cut off without warning. Although that would not affect my graphics it is always sensible to back them up. Glad the new curtains came. Can we have a picture? Also glad about the dryer. Have a nice walk with Jake and thanks for your good wishes.

Hi Sandra, Glad you have the appliances up and running. Hannah was such a pretty dog. Her eyes look so loving. I know you do still miss her. Your day sounds about like ours weather wise. Cute poem. Helen
I like to fluff my towels in tumble dryer too...At the moment they're only being tumble dried as can't hang any washing out...Scratchy towels are horrid...Hope you get the dishwasher fixed soon, i'd love one of them as i divorced mine LOL Caff xxx
Glad things are coming along and you got your drier repaired. Hannah sure was a beauty. Hope you don't have cloudy skies all day.

It sounds as though your house is coming together nicely. I'll look forward to seeing pics of the new drapes, capeting, and all. Glad the appliances are getting back to working order. We seem to take them for granted til we have to do without them for a while. Great picture of Hannah! What a lovely dog she was!
