Is Summer Here at Last?

Hello everyone,

Welcome to a lovely Wednesday evening.  It`s been a gorgeous day here, hot and sunny...did I say hot?  Well yes it has been and tomorrow `s forecast is for more of the same, let`s hope so eh?

This morning started off with me giving Roman his breakfast and his bath as Kerry had a dreadful headache.  I told her to stay in bed and leave Little Man to me and we had a great time of it.  I don`t usually sing when I do the washing up but today was an exception, Roman thought I was funny anyway and that was the idea of the exercise...lol!  Bathtime was fun too as it has been years since I last bathed a baby, unless you count Roman as a newborn in the baby bath.  The big bath was much more fun and we had a splashing time.  Roman gets really slippery as he has to have his prescrition oil in every bath.  It`s like trying to catch an eel getting him out of there.  Then of course once I`d dried him there are three types of cream to apply and there I was trying to remember which one is used where but I got there in the end.  His skin is looking marvellous now, just like the dermatologist predicted.  He looks all pink and healthy just like any other baby now.

Jim and I had to go into town to pay a couple of bills, we had coffee and then went to book the carpet fitter. It turns out that we just missed an appointment for Saturday morning by about an hour, now we have to wait until May 16th, unless there`s a cancellation.  Then Jim went into Wickes to buy a fence post so he put the fallen panel back in place.  We need another six panels but Jim wanted to put the old one back for the time being to stop the `orrible kids next door from tormenting Jake.  Now he`s triggered of the arthritis in his wrist that had subsided for quite a while, Jim that is, not Jake...lol!  He did insist on carrying a couple of really heavy concrete blocks through the house to take to the dump.  He should have broken them up first but no, now he`s in pain and has increased his tablets.  Just in case you wondered what the concrete blocks were, they were from the old broken fence post.  Jim likes to use a lot of concrete mix when putting the posts in.  I just hope he doesn`t have to dig up anymore.

Our resident rat hasn`t shown his face again today, and now Jim has blocked all his entrance to the nest under the shed.  He`s also blocked the rat run just in case he`s still around.  I do think however that he`s moved out and will be making his home in someone else`s garden, they are welcome to him as he`s definitely outstayed his welcome here.

I`m off now to play some Bookworm and hope to get a decent score this time.  I gave it up for a while as I kept on getting really bad scores.  Now my brain is refreshed and hopefully I can do better this time.  I hope you all have a lovely evening, I`m planning to watch Desperate Housewives at 10pm, my favourite prog at the moment.  So Bye Bye for now and take care. :o)

I am glad that Roman's skin is clearing up. That is mean for the neighboring kids to torment Jake. I hope Jim's arthritis soon gets better. Helen

I'm so glad Roman's skin is clearing!!  I bet he feels so much better!  Giving babies a bath has always been so much fun for me!  I'd end up soaked to the bone.  There would be so many bath toys that I couldn't find my baby!!  LOL!  When my son discovered that he could splash water it was a bath for both of us!! Great laughs and lots of fun!  I really miss that time!
Have a good night.

What a busy time you are having!
So glad that Roman's skin is improving...
Jim needs to be careful with the wrist...Allan's the same with carrying heavy things.
You mentioned liking my Carpet! It is good Carpet, but was down when I moved in...it goes all the way through the house, apart from Bedrooms It is a deep wine colour. looks very rich...but doesn't go with my more 'delicate' scheme of things.
Aileen....x

I am so glad to hear that Roman's skin is clearing already!  That's great news. You're a dear for taking care of him while Kerry was feeling unwell. Good to hear that warm weather is there also. Glad your rat has packed off to gardens unknown.  Have a great day. |
