Hello everyone,
I didn`t think I`d make an entry tonight, what with one thing and another I`ve had a very full day. Being Thursday I had the weekly shopping to do, I went to Tescos at 8am and I breezed around the store with almost no other shoppers, no complaints there. On the way home I got caught in traffic, so the 10 minute ride home took 35, very annoying. With it being a hot day I was worried about the freezer food melting but luckily it was ok, though the first thing I did was put it away, though silly me had left some grapes and a tube of toothpaste in the carrier bag. When I went to sort it out later they were frozen solid, actually frozen grapes are really nice and refreshing, you should try them...lol!
Kerry rang me later this morning to tell me that Roman wasn`t well at all and that she was calling the Dr. She was asked to take him to the surgery and it turns out he has a throat and chest viral infection and has been given antibiotics, strong ones too. Apparently they think he`s had it for a couple of weeks and this cold has made it worse. Because he couldn`t keep anything down this morning he isn`t allowed any milk or solid food apart from chopped bananas. His stomach seems to have settled and he seems much better than he has been lately. Kerry came with me and Jim when we walked Jake, then sat in the garden with me while Jim mowed the lawn. Here are a few photos.
See Kerry`s new hair colour, she isn`t keen on the red in it and is waiting for it to fade.
Jake sniffing the Wallflowers, he`s so nosey!
Just Jake posing for me.
At last we have the rat trap, it`s now primed and ready for ratty with a nice big piece of cooking chocolate for bait. Hopefully he`ll find it irresistable! When Jim was putting it in place really nearly got his fingers broken when he knocked the trap mechinism with a powerful snap. It just missed him but he said the rat won`t stand a chance with it, that`s what I like to hear. It was difficult getting the trap under the shed as there wasn`t as much room as we thought, so Jim has dug some earth away and we`ve surrounded the area with bricks so Jake can`t get his nose in the way. But we`ve left it so the rat has room to get in, though hopefully not out!
I must admit that quite a bit of my `full` day was spent sitting in the garden, mind you when it`s as nice as it`s been today, doing nothing certainly fills my time. I`ve really caught the sun and I`m a nice shade of brown. I`m sure it`s because I`m using a Factor 20 sun lotion this year as I can burn a lot easier than some people I know...... Jim only has to look at the sun and he goes a lovely golden brown, by the end of the Summer he`s a deep brown...it`s not fair...lol!
Right, that`s me finished for today. I hope you`ve all had a lovely day, have a smashing weekend and take care. Bye Bye for now. :o)
Making good
A man walks into a pet shop and asks for some ants, three mice, a family of cockroaches and fifteen spiders. "What do you need those for?" asked the shopkeeper.
The man says, " I`m moving out of my flat this afternoon and the landlord said to leave it as I found it."
Mean Molluscs
Why don`t oysters give to charity?
Because they`re shellfish.
Electric connection
Two TV aerials meet and fall in love. The wedding was quite boring, but the reception was great!
Insect incident
A man is walking down the street when he is attacked by a giant grasshopper, which knocks him out. He wakes up in hospital where he describes the attack. " Ah yes," said the doctor, "You`re the sixth case we`ve had this week. There`s a very nasty bug going round."

Poor Roman, I hope he gets better soon, why do all the nasty bugs and viruses come out at thw change of seasons? Why do they come out at all?! So Jake has been taking the advice to take time to smell the flowers!! I hope it's the end for ratty now! Jeannette xx
Aww, poor Roman. At least the antibiotics seems to be helping him...hope he's feeling better soon!
Gill xx
Glad you got the rat trap Sandra. Do not know if chocolate will work, if not try some cake. We found the rat we had did not take cheese. Poor little Roman. They can be so sick when they are unwell and can cause real worry but they bounce back so fast. Mike is the same. He was out in the sun today and he already looks like he has been on a caribbean cruise. It takes me longer but I have to watch it because too much sun and my medication, I can come out in itchy rashes so I smother myself in factor 30. Mind you I have still caught some colour. I like Kerry's hair very much, shame she wants it to fade. Tell her I have the identical top to the one she is wearing. Loved the photos of Jake.

I think Kerry's color hair is lovely. Your photos are really good. I love the one where Jake is smelling the flower. Love your mouse graphics. If the chocolate doesn't catch the rat try a spoon of peanut butter. That way they will knaw more to get it all off. Have a good night. Helen

On Saturday afternoon a naked couple were found actively engaged on the floor in our local Tescos disabled toilet. Seems they were here as tourists???? Could it be the latest thing? Eve

Aww,poor Roman.Hope hes better soon though he looks a little smasher in the photo.I do like Kerrys hair. . .she has a lovely face too. . .hair suits her down as well.
That is good that Roman is responding to the anti-biotics. I have had an ear draining but will see the doctor in 2 weeks and it may not need anti-biotics by then. I used to have these infections often and it has been a long time since one. I was up early and then got several hours rest this afternoon. I can't sleep more than about 4 hours at a time usually. Kerry's hair is a beautiful "strawberry blonde". Ever since you wrote about Jake's colitis I have wondered if Salty had that problem. He hasn't had an attack of whatever is causing him pain from his stomach area for awhile, and I need to get him to the Veterianians while it is happening. I hope the rat gets trapped! mark
Hi Sandra. Just to let you know I have visited. I loved the jokes, they made me giggle. Regards Dan.

Oh Roman is going to have to get better. Every time I visit, he is not feeling well.
Hope you get your rat. LOL.

Hope Roman is feeling better. Your grocery shopping story remined me to get the thermal cooler out of the shed & get it into my car for those "hot day" shopping trips. That's one thing about winter...you can take your time coming home from grocery shopping & not worry about the meat, etc getting spoiled. Jake is such a poser! Linda in Washington
Prayers for Roman to feel better soon...
I loved the photos...Kerry's hair looks beautiful and Jakes pose is just classic Jake!!
Hope you have a great weekend...hugs and love always...thanks for your prayers for my son...
