Hello everyone,
Welcome to a bright and cheerful Tuesday. The sun is out and all`s well with the world, at least it is here in this little corner of it. I`ve been looking after Roman earlier this afternoon while Kerry had her hair done. She told me he was really miserable and would need an afternoon nap. Well, no sooner had he eaten his dinner he seemed to come to life, no point in his sleeping then. For the whole of the 2 hours she was gone he played on the floor with his toys, as happy as can be with no sign of `crankiness` at all. It must be the effect the sun has because I didn`t do anything different with him. Maybe now his tooth has come through he`ll have a couple of days respite until the next one is ready. Kerry has had a tint put on her hair and it looks really nice. It has a touch of copper to it and it has given her a nice warm glow. She thinks that it looks orange...it doesn`t, but then Kerry wouldn`t be Kerry if she was ever happy with her hair. I remember her at 14 when `big hair` was all the rage, she wouldn`t go to school until her hair was perfect so I got her up early every morning just so she got there on time!
All the rain we had yesterday has certainly had a positive effect on the garden, some plants seem to have grown overnight. Last year I planted a peony and I didn`t expect it to flower this year but it has three buds on it so I`m looking forward to them blossoming, they are such showy flowers. I`ve staked the stem to stop the flowers from drooping with their weight. The standard wisteria that I`m training has new growth springing up all around the crown, it won`t flower this year but I`m hopeful for next. I have four azaleas, three evergreen and one deciduous all about to flower. I`ll take some photos when they eventually do.
While walking Jake this morning we came face to face with a man and his not-so-friendly dog. After the `bitten nose` incident I gave them a wide berth and the man thanked me even though the dog obviously didn`t, judging by his bared teeth! Later on the walk back home I rounded a corner and once again met the same man. His dog really growled this time and the man started to hit the dog hard with the other end of the lead, I couldn`t believe that he actually hit his own dog just for growling, after all, he`s only a dog. He carried on doing it as he walked down the road telling the dog to `Shut up`, all the while. The man was about my age and he should have known better, no wonder the dog behaves the way he does.
I`ve just remembered, talking about dogs that Jake`s booster is due this month. I think I`ll book an appointment for tomorrow morning and I`ll combine his walk with the dreaded needle. I really mustn`t forget it, particularly as the rat is about. Dog`s can be infected with Leptospirosis which is carried by rats and it can be fatal. I`ll say goodbye now and hope you all have had a very enjoyable day and that the weather has been kind. Take care. :o)

Glad that you had such an enjoyable time with Roman. I am sure that Kerry looks very pretty with her new tint, perhaps she would allow a piccie? You beat me to it with the graphic, I was going to use that in a couple of weeks when I take some pond pictures, it is so fitting. Anyway, I can still use it, what difference does it make.
You cannot train a dog with cruelty that only makes them worse, I am surprised, he should know better. He obviously has not watched "Me or the Dog" - great series on how to train dogs properly without using shouting or your hand or anything else.
Looking forward to your flowers pictures. Hugs

P.S. I meant to tell you that diabetic chocolate is wonderful. I was not sure I would like it as it might have tasted like plain chocolate and I have always disliked that. Give me Cadbury's milk anytime. However, it is not like plain at all. The only problem is, I am going to have a hard time keeping my hands or rather my teeth of it!!!!!!!!!
I always forget to mention the little jokes at the end I really enjoyed todays ~
glad your day went well and Roman was happy and playing while you looked after him ~ that is the effect you have on him lol ~ glad that dog you met on your walk didn't have a go at Jake ~ and how awful of that man to hit him for growling ~ with Ratty about you must not forget Jake's booster ~ The weather has been really lovely here today spent lots of time in the garden ~ Ally
I'm glad Roman has got over his crankiness. I hope the sun stays out for you, it's just arrived here! I love peonies, I used to have them when I had a garden, so big and showy and wonderful colours! That silly man with the dog ought not keep a pet if he doesn't know how to treat it! Jeannette xx
Nice to hear you have fun playing with Roman! ;0)
Some people shouldn't have pets!!! GRRR on him
Yes, make the appt & get the shot ASAP.
Hugs,SUGAR
I hate to see people be mean to their pets. Why do they have them if they are going to do them that way. Glad Roman was good for you today. Maybe he will sleep better tonight by not napping today. Bet Kerry's hair color is lovely. Love the frog graphic and the fish name tag. Helen
Hi Sandra...
Its horrible seeing people being nasty toward animals, if they are like that to animals...what are they like to their families?...I love the graphics and jokes! Astra.

It has started raining here after a 70F day yesterday. I am glad that Roman is happy with having the tooth done hurting. Salty heard something in the yard while I was walking him last night and made the loudest bark i have heard from him. When meeting other dog's he enjoys it and wants to jump up on people as I hold on to him as he is up on just his hind legs. mark
Glasd Roman was happier today. Hahaha I now have an image if Kerry at 14 with HUGE hair, Brilliant day here too. Like the graphics as always and the jokes especially the one about weight!! Eve
It's grandma's magic! That's why Roman felt so much better
~~Kath~~
That's terrible how that man treated his dog! Someone ought to beat HIM with the leash! I don't believe in hitting animals at all. Just lovin' them!
Glad Roman is feeling better. I bet he was so cute sitting playing with his toys. Love your graphics and jokes. Enjoy your night.

Do hope you manage to catch that rat soon <ugh> ...I reckon even when they are babies children learn to play up for the main carer...Wether that be mum or dad and be angelic for everyone else LOL Caff xxx
Taking Buddy to the vet is like taking him to a gas chamber. he carries on like a woman, lol. That man walking his dog sounds a bit abusive!
I bet Kerrys' hair is lovely.
