A WAITING GAME

Hello everyone... welcome to an eventful friday.   This morning I tried to catch up on my email before taking Kerry for her appointment with the Midwife.  I read just a little and decided instead to sort out the washing and set the machine in motion.  I went over to collect Kerry early so as to get to the doctors on time and to get a parking space.  On the first two counts there were no problems, we then checked in with the receptionist and were told to take a seat in the waiting room.  Seeing that there was no-one else there we thought we`d only wait a minute ot two.....HA!  Never, ever think that or you will be disappointed.............One hour later and no-one had gone in or come out of the Midwife`s office.  I went downstairs and explained that I thought Kerry had been overlooked;  I was informed " No, she knows you are there, I`ve just spoken to her,"   Reassured I went back to Kerry telling her that the Midwife must be running late.  30 mins later, the Midwife leaves her office to go home!  We explain the situation and she tells us that she knew nothing of Kerry`s appointment and reception had not informed her of her arrival.  We were not pleased, it was boiling hot there with no air-conditioning, not even a fan, and no chance of a drink of water.  Anyway, the Midwife , it was not her fault in anyway, had to tell Kerry that her baby is definitely in the breech position.  On Monday she will have another scan and they will attempt to turn the baby.  They have said though that any sign of resistance from him and they will stop, and also if turning him is unsucessful then a C-section is the answer.  Kerry is very disappointed but there is still time for him to turn on his own.  We will have to leave things to nature now.

When we got home I made some lunch, had a coffee and then started on my sald for this evening.  I`ve already made the potato salad and put it in the fridge.  I put lots of fresh chives, a little spring onion and black pepper in with the mayonnaise.  I`ve made plenty so that Kerry can take some home for Slava.

I did rather like this graphic and when I saw the name on the lifebuoy I thought how appropriate it was for today.  I think though he may not catch anything in this heat let alone a mermaid....lol!

Jim and I are going out for lunch tomorrow, after he has been working on the patio all morning.  He really hopes to get finished by Sunday, weather permitting, that is.

Today is supposed to be cooler than yesterday, perhaps it is slightly, but it`s still far too hot to sit outside or to walk Jake during the day.  At the moment he is getting a morning run at 7.30 am and a lead walk at about 9pm.  Maybe though we will take him swimming tomorrow and let him cool off in the lake.  It`s now time to read some more journals, before Kerry gets back for dinner at 6pm.  I hope you all have a great weekend and a lovely day.  Bye for now,

babies are silly things, yes  it can still turn, but please be assured a C section is NOT the end of the world!  I had two and was wide awake for both. When I had my second one I had a 14 month old to care for when I got home, besides the newborn,  she will be tough and do just fine. I realize every mom wants to deliver vaginally but a C isn't that awful really, especially if you can be awake during it, and now days many women have  vaginal births following a c section, it can be done .

Send some of that salad this way, save me a job later....it sounds lovely! Yes babies can leave it right up until the last minute to turn ...my Angela did but she was a fidget from as soon as I first felt her move - she did not stop even when I was asleep!!!(she's not much different now!) Wish Kerry well, it will all be fine!

I hate when that kind of stupidity happens! I would have kicked up a bit of fuss!

It's plenty cold here. Check out my weather pixie!!

Oh poor you and Kerry, sat in the waiting room all that time!!
Glad Kerry is doing well, apart from baby being in the breech position.  Fingers crossed it will sort itself out.
Your potato salad sounds lovely, perfect for a hot day :o)

WOW! that was a long wait to get to see the midwife and in such a hot place to boot. Someone was not doing the job they were hired to do. Hopefully Kerry's baby will turn on it's own. Love the sports layout also the Old Jim thingy and your new name grapic. Helen

hi sandra i have been reading your journal for ages now but never left a comment before
i just wanted to tell you that my last baby was breech up until 37 weeks and then he turned,my midwife told me to do a yoga position where you get down on your knees put your elbows on the floor [or bed] and stick your bum up into the air, it sounds a bit funny but it worked for me
and i avoided the dreaded c section, if kerry does it a couple of times a day for as long as she can stand it might work???
fingers crossed
love your journal esp tales about jake!!

I can think of nothing worse than having to wait for an hour - and being told the midwife "knows you're here", when she didn't! That's really appalling! But I'm glad Kerry got seen in the end at least. I do hope the baby turns on its own all right. Sending lots of positive thoughts.

Hello to the Fisherman Jim!! Its in high 80's in Ohio and the humidity is enough to totally make a person choke something. Yucko. Gas is $2.19 a gallon. I have Kerry in my thoughts. I am totally PO'd at that dishonest receptionist. I could use stronger words. I hope you and Jim had a nice lunch. Try to stay  cool. Love you, lisa jo

Love the Old Jim graphic.....that's funny.

Hope Jake liked his bath.........sounds like he was a good boy.  Tugie usually does ok with her baths.

Those bacon & egg sandwiches at the garden center make me want to fly over there just to have one.  Sounds yummy. I love breakfast foods and of course, I would love to see what the garden center looks like because you go there so much.  LOL.

Just to let you know I'm keeping Kerry in my thoughts and prayers regarding the breech position.  Maybe the baby will turn.  Will keep praying.  Tell Kerry not to worry.  This happens quite a bit.  C section is still ok, even though it may not be preferred.  Lot's of C sections happen now.  Good thing they can do them.  But I know it makes the mother more sore in dealing with the baby b/c it's like having surgery.  Hope her washer --was it washer or dryer---gets back to normal soon.  That is rough when your laundry center is not working properly.
