THURSDAY`S TRIFLE

Hello everyone.......      I can`t access my ftp space today.  `Too many gateway sessions` it says.  This has happened to me before and it cleared itself in the end.  I`ll have to make do today with ones already uploaded or smileys.      It has been another hot, dry day here, though the forecast is to expect rain at the weekend....... we`ll see.   This morning I went food shopping in Tesco`s, they are moving into a huge new store on the 1st August.  It will apparently have 1500 staff and lots of different departments. It is going to be the biggest Tesco`s in Europe.  We are sure it will `kill off` the High Street as the new store sells everything.  When it opens I`ll tell you all about it.  As I was saying, I was doing the food shopping and there were countless bargains.  My cupboards are jam packed and my weekly bill is quite low.... that I like!   I was back home at 9.30am, had it all packed away by 10 and went out with Jake straight away.  We picked Kerry up en route and took her with us for her daily exercise.  We walked a little bit further today but in a circular direction so we were never too far away from home at any time, just in case.  When she went home this afternoon she told me she felt like making something tasty.   She made a lovely strawberry trifle with a recipe she downloaded from the internet, mmmm it was delicious, very rich,  but really yummy!      Tomorrow we are going for a family meal in the afternoon.  It is the anniversary of Jim`s Dad`s passing just two years ago. Last year we all thought it would be a good idea to remember him this way, it`s the sort of thing he would have approved of.  Kerryis coming with us as we won`t be out late and some of her cousins will be there too.  We should all have a very pleasant afternoon.       Jake has done it again , not content with attacking my cherry tree AGAIN, he has now started chewing one of the older fence panels.  I`ve managed to hide the pieces of broken wood from Jim but I just hope he doesn`t notice the teethmarks on the panel.....!    The cherry tree is to be reinforced with plastic tubing around the trunk, or what`s left of it and I`ve built a barrier of bricks surrounding the protective cover that has been around the tree since it was planted.  I don`t know how he managed it because I`ve been watching him like a hawk.  I haven`t even been leaving him outside while I`m on the computer.  Oh well... I suppose that`s one of the little things I will have to put up with while I have the pleasure of being owned by Jake.      This evening Jake`s German Shepherd friend Marshall is coming to stay for the night.  He is about 8 mths old but is already bigger than Jake.  They are great friends and there shouldn`t be a problem.  If all goes well we will have Marshall all next week while his owners, M and M take their little ones on holiday.  That should be fun....double trouble...lol!      That`s about it from me today, so have a lovely evening and please do take care, and I`ll leave you with some funnies.

JUST A JOKE

Two guys were walking through the woods one day when one of them glanced behind them and noticed a bear following them.  He could see that the bear hadn`t seen them yet,  so he quickly sat on the ground and began taking off his hiking boots.

By the time his friend noticed him sitting there, he had pulled his running shoes out of his backpack and was putting them on.  His friend said,  "What are you doing?" The other guy pointed up the trail to reveal the bear coming towards them slowly but surely.

He said,  "Man, you`re crazy.  There`s no way you can outrun that bear!!"

As he was standing up,  the other guy said,

"I don`t have to outrun the bear, I only have to outrun you!"

Hi Sandra, I don't even use the FPT space anymore. I have a couple of online albums and I have discovered how to put my pictures in there and then put them in my journal. Back is not hurting as bad today as yesterday but still hurts. You would think Jake is a young pup doing all that chewing. Hope his friend doesn't join him in doing that. That new big store sounds kinda like our Supercenter-Walmarts are doing here. I would love to have a bite of Kerry's strawberry trifle.
Enjoy your meal out tomorrow and that is a good rememberance thing to do. Helen

I live near one of those Tesco Extra stores, its enormous and has killed off all the local small businesses. All our local corner shops and small garages and chemists are now closed down because everyone goes to Tesco and who can blame them when its so cheap. It takes ages to get around too but there are a lot of bargains. Are you sure Jake did that? Lol at him with his friend Marshall.

I have never had a trifle, but it sounds good.  My Dad passed away one year ago June 3.  My dog is chewing his "knucle" right now.  Its a cow part that is boiled in a broth to make it tasty.  I bought it at the K-Mart that is closing.  Wal-Mart has taken over the customer base.  Glad to hear that Kerry is doing fine.  mark

Here in MK all the little local shops are now Tesco's too, Tesco Express!  Can't get away from them!  Strawberry trifle, mmm yummy, I haven't had trifle for the longest time.  Despite the occasion, I hope that you all have - or had - a lovely afternoon meal together.  That is a lovely way to remember someone.  Hope you have some plants left after Jake's sleepover with his friend!!

Jake sure is a little imp - wonder why he likes chewing cherry trees so much. You'll just have to get some lion dung from the zoo, and leave it all around those trees and plants - apparently, animals won't go near it, or so I've heard, lol!

Hey there.  Just poppin' in to say hi....yes I see we BOTH loved that graphic on the last entry.  It is sooo pretty.  Kerry should be having that baby soon.
Hey...you should try  www.photobucket.com (the free one).  I've had better luck uploading pics to them.  Let me know if you need help and decide to try it for hosting your pics.  It is easier to use than FTP!
