THE TROUBLE WITH TEETH!

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to a wet and windy Tuesday.   Another busy day for me starting with the midwife with Kerry this morning.  When we got to the surgery though,  Kerry discovered that the midwife had been called away and all appointments were cancelled.   Kerry should have been contacted but for some reason they said she was uncontactable....rubbish there were both her phone numbers on the chart in front of us.   They offered her another appointment in three weeks when she would be 39 weeks!  But she needed a blood test done today so the receptionist booked her in to see a doctor.  Everything was fine until he said that the baby is in the breech position, and what the implications are, but he did say there is still time for him to turn.  I do hope so as she doesn`t want a C-Section and she is really at the moment.  I can only reassure her but I`ve never been in her position so I`m really at a loss.  I`ll just try to keep her spirits up and hope for the best.

This afternoon Jim took Danny to the dentist where he had a root canal.  It was infected and that`s what was causing the pain.  He has to go back for another two fillings before six months are up.  I can`t uinderstand why his teeth are so bad, as a child they were excellent and I was very proud of the fact that niether of my children had any fillings until the age of fifteen.  But he has had so much trouble since his late teens, maybe he is just unlucky with them.

Last night Jim and I started to watch the 80`s TV series of James Clavell`s Shogun.  Jim had the DVD collection for Father`s Day as he has wanted it for a while.  We both loved the series way back and enjoying it just as much now.  Richard Chamberlain is excellent as Pilot-Major John Blackthorne.  We have hours and hours of good viewing ahead of us.

That`s it from me tonight.  I`m just about to indulge in a big bowl of coffee icecream, and I need to concentrate!  So for now, goodbye, have a lovely day and take care.

AUSTRALIA Q & A`s

Here are some of the classic questions that were asked of the Sydney Olympic Committee via their website, and the witty anwers that went with them.

Q:  Does it ever get windy in Australia?  I have never seen it rain on TV, so how do the plants grow ? (UK)

A:  Upwards, out of the ground....

Q:  Will I be able to see kangaroos in the street?  (USA)

A:  Depends on how much beer you`ve consumed....

Q:  I want to walk from Perth to Sydney - can I follow the railway tracks? (SWEDEN)

A:  Sure, it`s only three thousand miles, so you`ll need to have started about a year ago to get there in time for this October....

Q:  Is it safe to round around the the bushes in Australia? (SWEDEN)

A:  And accomplish what?

Q:  Do tents exist in Australia? (GERMANY)

A:  Yes, but only in sporting supply shops, people`s garages, and most national parks....

Q:  Do you celebrate Christmas in Australia? (FRANCE)

A:  Yes, at Christmas....

Q:  Can I drive to the Great Barrier Reef? (GERMANY)

A:  Sure, if your vehicle is amphibious.

Q:  Which direction is North in Autralia? (USA)

A:  Face North and you should be about right.

the baby could still turn, but really a c- section isn't so bad, I had two in two years.

Tell Kerry not to worry - I don't like saying it but it could be worse and she is extremely lucky it isn't :o)  Hope you have fun watching more Shogun!!

Oh coffee ice cream I love it so, it was always my favourite but I am not allowed it now.  Sorry to hear about Kerry. Same thing happened to Becky although Nathan was not breech, just in a strange position.  Yes, the baby still has time to turn so try not to worry. Glad that Danny got his teeth fixed.  xxxxxxx

Don't worry too much about baby, my 1st was in breach position but righted himself just before I went into labour. Think maybe this is quite common. Enjoy your ice cream.

I remember my midwife telling me to spend some time each day on my hands and knees, as that position gives the baby optimal room to move around.  Could be worth a try!
Enjoy your ice cream, Mmmm ;o)

Hope everything goes ok with Kerry and the baby. C- sections are not as bad as they were in my childbearing days. I had to have it done once. Our daughter in- law on Ken's side had to have it twice. The twin cousins pictures I put in my journal was done that way also. Good luck to her. Owee on that dental work. Hope Danny does ok. We may get some rain this week as there is a tropical storm & maybe two headed for the Gulf and we will feel the results of that. Have a good night & enjoy your ice cream. Helen

Oh, I know Kerry is on pins and needles.  I think this sort of thing is common and often they do turn on their own.
Now you reminded me that I have strawberry (homemade) icecream in the freezer.  Thanks.  (hey that coffee ice cream sounds good.  Do you all have Starbucks?  Tried Frappocino?)

I hope Kerry isn't worrying too much. I'm sure the baby will turn just in time for her to have a natural birth. Good luck to her.

I am petrified of the dentist and haven't been for 7 years. I know I should but you would have to drug me and drag me there. I'm not surprised that he was in pain, infections are nasty things.
