WAFFLING ON WEDNESDAY!

Hello everyone.........

Phew....I`m hot,  I`m not sure what the temperature is but it`s far too hot for me.  It`s getting very oppressive and it`s looks like there`s a storm on the way.

Firstly, yesterday`s comments;  For SONYA,  a rook is a large British bird.  have a look at the site and it will explain all.

Secondly, thank you COLLEEN  for telling me where I can pick up a decent keyboard for a tenner.  I`ll pop into Argos next week and have a look, also thanks to STUART who told me more or less the same.

Thirdly for LISA and any other of my American friends who don`t know the meaning of the word `fiddly`. It just refers to the small, more detailed parts of something you are doing.  As with Jim and his beloved patio, the fiddly bit`s are the awkward bits.  I hope I explained that okay.  !

As it has been so hot, I decided to do as much washing as possible and hang it all outside.  No sooner was it on the line than it was dry ten minutes later.  I think the clothes would have faded in the sun had I left them any longer.  I walked around the garden to see how my poor flowers are doing.  Despite watering them daily the ground is as hard as stone and even the weeds are struggling to grow.  I found one of my new trees had had the bark chewed off the bottom.  I caught Jake red-pawed as he was chewing a piece of it.  I suppose I`ll have to wrap some trusty bubble-wrap around the trunk to stop the frost killing it in the winter.  That dog looks so innocent but he has to be the devil in disguise!

Kerry was here earlier and she is feeling very lethargic today.  She says she is trying not to count the days till the baby is due but she can`t help it.  She knows she has been very lucky thoughout the pregnancy with no real health problems, but she`s just had enough now.  She also sends her thanks for the good wishes that you`ve sent her, she really appreciates them.  The two of us are going to Tesco`s very early tomorrow to get our weekly shopping before the morning rush begins.  It`s the best time to go and we can be there and back in just over an hour, with no pushing and shoving and trolley attacks!

That`s about it for today.  I need a cold drink and then I`m off to read some journals.  I have a fan on me at the moment but there is a burning smell coming from it so I hope it`s not about to cut out on me.  Anyway, take care all of you and I`ll eave you with some funnies.

PUNS GALORE!

A good pun is it`s own reword.  *

Energizer Bunny arrested  -  charged with battery.  *

Is a pessimist`s blood type always b-negative?  *

My friend really likes to make pottery, but to me it`s just kiln time.  *

Practice safe eating  -  always use condiments.  *

I fired my masseuse today.  She just rubbed me up the wrong way.  *

Shotgun wedding:  a case of wife or death.  *

I used to work in a blanket factory but it folded.  *

I used to be a lumberjack but I just couldn`t hack it, so they gave me the axe.  *

If electricity comes from electrons... does that mean that morality comes from morons.  *

Tee hee, know what you mean about catch doggies red-pawed; caught sam helping himself to the cream in a doughnut the other week - he had done such a good job by not touching the actual doughnut that I just stood and laughed, poor boy was standing with his tail between his legs and looked very puzzled cos I had not told him off!!!! All our fans are working overtime as well!!!

I left some washing out on the line in this heat, but didn't bring it in again for many hours. When I finally did, it was all like cardboard! The heat must have dried it too quickly - or else I need more softener or something, lol! These temperatures must be pretty grim for Kerry though. But I'm glad she hasn't had any real health problems anyway.

Poor Kerry, it can't be any fun being pregnant in this heat.  I hope it doesn't last too long.  We need a storm to clear the air and bring some breeze back I think.  Not much longer for her now though :o)
I love the puns, the last one made me giggle!

I know the heat is rough on Kerry. Hope she makes it grocery shopping ok. I loved the picture and the name graphic. I looked at the rooks site and it looks like what we call a crow over here is the US. Guess Jake just wanted to chew a bit huh? I liked the puns also. Helen

It has decided to get hot here too.  I used to love it, but I think I'm getting a bit long in the tooth to want to bake myself.  I can understand Kerry wanting it to be over.  I can remember the weariness of the tag end of a  pregnancy.  Pennie

Best wishes to Kerry.  The weather has been rainey here in southern Illinois.  Only managed to get a small amount of house cleaning done today, but small improvement is better than none at all.  Doing as much reading as possible, mostly laying on the board for my back.   Take care,  -mark-

Thanks so much for the Rook information....I had never heard of it.
Have fun doing your shopping in the morning.

By the way, ur Wednesday night discussion in church tonight was about the bombings over there and what the "Christian response" is to those that begin conversation about it......(the response was that we focus on evil being in the world and that we are in the "last days" as mentions in the Bible.  And we focus on the afterlife, and how good it will be for those who believe to be in HIS care and no longer subject to these kinds of evil attacks.  Anyway that is what I got from it. I'm sure everyone's take was different.)
Just had that on my mind and wanted to share.
