MAD FRIDAY RUSH!

Hello my dear journal friends,  this is the first time I have sat down all day.  I`ve been up since before 7am and I`m exhausted.  This morning I was going into town with Jim as usual for a Friday morning and then on to Kwik-Fit to get the car exhaust changed.  While I was getting ready thios morning it dawned on me that today is the day I have my hospital consultation, how could I forget that?, but it had completely slipped my mind.  We went into town as usual but couldn`t take our time as usual, We moved quickly on to Kwik-Fit where we had to wait for an hour before they could fir the exhaust.  Then we rushed home and Jim made me a ham roll which I had to eat on the run and then get ready for my appointments.  I had to have physio at 2.15pm and then wait while she filled in a report for the consultant. She also had a look at my thumb joint that has been very painful recently and gave me a splint/support for it, and some advice as how to manage the arthritic pain and exercises to do.   Then I hurried over to the other side of the hospital in time for my appointment at 2.45pm.  It was a full waiting room and there was standing room only. Thankfully I didn`t have to wait long and I got in to see the consultants registrar.  He told me that I can avoid more surgery for the time being, and after he spoke with the consultant who agreed with him, he asked me to come back again in three months.  He did go into detail as to why I`ve had so much pain since the operation, and why it is taking so long for the feeling to return to my fingers, something that none of the other doctors have done.  I feel much better having spoken to a doctor who is so reassuring. I feel very positive about it now.

Jim has spent the afternoon in the garden laying the paving slabs.  He is doing really well but now he is running out of sand and he started off with 900 kilos,  now he has to order more, so he will come to a standstill until it arrives.  I think he needs a bit of a rest though so it won`t hurt him.

Looking out of the window I see that it starting to rain.  That will save me having to water the flowers tonight...one job less to do!  I just hope it rains all night and is fine tomorrow, when we are going to a friends for drinks in the evening.  Kerry and Slava are coming with us as Kerry still enjoys and evening out even though she has to drink orange juice.

I have to go, and get tea ready now as the worker is hungry!  I hope you all have a lovely weekend and a nice relaxing time, Bye Bye for now and take care ;-)

Firstly, what a hysterically funny graphic, love it.  I do not know how you forgot your appointment, I worry about going to the doctors ten days in advance!  I am so glad that everything went well for you though and nobody mentioned surgery again.
Yes, I think Jim should have a rest.  I hope we get the rain here, it has been very dark all afternoon and threatening but nothing has come and I really do NOT want to water the garden.  Have a great weekend dear friend xxxxxxxx

I'm glad that you're feeling positive about things now Sandra, it really does help when you have all the facts, and a positive doctor doesn't it.
Hope it doesn't rain for you tomorrow :o)

That must make such a refreshing change - being given an honest and detailed explanation for your hand difficulties, etc. And it's excellent news that there's no need for further surgery! I'm so glad you feel more positive about it all now. Hope you have a nice evening tonight. And it sounds as though Jim is doing a grand job with the paving slabs.

David.

Wow, you did have a busy day...
Glad the doc made you feel better about things.
Hope you are relaxing some this weekend.  It's a holiday weekend for us, as Monday is July 4th, where we celebrate our "independence".  So lots of parties and cookouts and fireworks going on all over America.
