This is the insect I`ve mentioned recently. If anyone can identify it I`d be very grateful because searched the internet with no success. It must be some kind of beetle because it has a hard shelled body and is about 3/4 on an inch long.
Hello everyone,
In the aftermath of yesterday`s outrage in London, it seems everyone is going about their daily lives, and not running around panic stricken as I`m sure those responsible would like. But then, we live in a well ordered society and we will never allow the terrorists to break us. I feel so sad for the famillies of those who died and for those who are injured, because they too will suffer the scars throughout their lives. But as bystanders, who have witnessed the events unfold on TV, we must continue with our lives. But I feel we owe it to ourselves and others to be vigilant, without becoming afraid to do anything.
On a happier note, I got a call from the travel agent telling me our tickets had arrived. Just five weeks to go now and only three until Kerry`s baby is due. Then the first week in September we are off to Dorset for a week. It`s all happening at once for us. It`s so nice to have good things to look forward to. We are going out with Kerry and Slava this evening with some friends of Kerry`s from the airport. There are 25 of us in all and we are having a meal in a Greek restaurent called `The Green Olive`. I`ve never had Greek food before so it will be a revelation. Still, I`ll try anything once....well, almost anything.....! As I said yesterday, Kerry is much better than she was, but this morning I had a call from the hairdresser who looked after her when she fainted. She told me more than the other day and they were very concerned for her, they even thought of calling an ambulance. I am still quite worried for her but I`m won`t tell her, I`ll just keep a close eye on her.
Today I`m starting a new journal feature called `Smiles of the Day`. I came across agreat book and it has lots of clean humerous quotes and jokes etc. I hope you all enjoy it. I hope you all have a lovely weekend, take care and have a relaxing time. Bye for now.
SMILES OF THE DAY
~ A SMILE IS A CURVE THAT SETS EVERYTHING STRAIGHT ~
Lunch logic
If I were given a choice between my heart`s desire and a cheese sandwich, I would definitely choose the cheese sandwich. After all, nothing`s better than your heart`s desire, and a cheese sandwich is better than nothing.
Safety first
He who laughs last should do so from a safe distance.
Mantra for the 21st century
Veni, Video, Visa - I came, I saw, I shopped.
Practical magic
A little girl said to her dad that she`d like a magic wand for Christmas, and then added, "And don`t forget to put the batteries in!".

been out of touch with out own special events.
J will look up the beetle when she has time.
She knows these things!
Can't really see the colour is it uniform brown?
Is it shield shaped when viewed the other way?
The beetle looks similiar to some we have in the US. I don't know what the name of them is but they come in at night when they can find a place to get in to the lights if they are on. I looked in Ken's pest control books but didn't find anything like yours. Of course you being there & me being here they are probably not the same kind anyway LOL. I love your name graphic. Helen
I am happy that things are going well......i have Kerry and baby in my prayers. That bug looks yucky. I hate bugs. Dogs, good. Bugs, yuck.
The terrorists are so misguided. I just feel for the wounded, dead and innocent. Love, lisa jo
That's a "June Bug" I know in the south Lowe's or Home Depot (probably any garden center) sells June Bug Traps. God luck, they are very prolific!

It looks like some sort of Beetle to me too...have no clue which one though. Hope your dinner out with friends and family goes well...I love Greek food...one to try if they have it is Stuffed Grape Leaves...really a great appetizer. Have fun!!!

Oh, my that bug does resemble a June bug. We have them here and I hate them...when they fly they make a clicking sound and they don't watch where they are going. They usually end up in my hair! Dreadful!
I too am saddened by the news of yesterday. At times it seems we are going backwards in dealing with these people. I feel you and your country people are right...yes, there will be scars, but it is the motion of going on with life that brings forth the healing.
I am thinking of you and your good country people today and always. England has always held a very special place in my heart...
Dona
Still saddened over yesterday but we will take it in our stride as we always do although those will lost loved ones and those horribly injured will live with it all the rest of their lives. Cannot identify that bug, a completely new one on me my dear friend.
Hope everything is alright with Kerry. I would have called an ambulance, but then, I am not at all familiar with her situation. Still, it was good that the people are so concerned about her.
Hoping that the injured will recover, thought some will be scared for life, and life will never be the same. The families of the dead have my sincere condolences and sympathy. The terrorists can not win, and their bombing will cause a response to find and bring to an end their barbaric and unspeakable acts.
I looked up the word 'Veni' and found veno, so I guess it mean wine.
June bugs are harmless creatures. I hate to kill them because they don't harm people in anyway, they just do their thing going toward lights. -mark-
Keeping Kerry in my thoughts Sandra.
Enjoy your meal tonight, I've never tasted Greek food either, so am looking forward to hearing what you thougt of it!
No idea on the beetle I'm afraid, haven't seen anything like that around here.
Love the Smiles of the day :o)

Found an insect very similar to that on my daughters cot during the heatwave of 1976, it was awesome and scarey. Took a lot of crushing with a hammer.
That insect is awful. Most insects scare me alot.

My prayers to you all.
