Hello Journal people..... At last I`m back after a busy weekend. I didn`t even have time enough to comment on the majority of journals and some I just couldn`t read through complete lack of time. I`m almost up to date now that Monday`s here and everything has calmed down a little!
On Saturday evening we went out to our friends for drinks. Kerry and Slava came with us and we all had a smashing time. There were eight of us altogther and we sat outside in the gazebo. It was a mild night and we were all, apart from Jim and Kerry who couldn`t drink, kept warm by the flow of alcohol ! We all had a lovely evening but had to leave at 10pm because Jim had an early start in the morning. When we left our friends gave Kerry and Slava a baby swing that had belonged to their children. It just about fitted in the back of our car and we have stored it here at our house because Kerry and Slava`s flat is just to small for it.
Yesterday was all go because I had to get ready for my brother and his family who were coming to see us in the afternoon. It was nice to see them but we didn`t have a lot of time because we were going to see War of the Worlds, again with Kerry and Slava in the evening. Also , Danny rang up with terrible toothache, asking us did we know of an emergency dentist that was open on a Sunday. We have a NHS Direct walk-in centre in the town but Danny lives too far away and hasn`t got a car at the moment. Jim told him to go to the hospital emergency dept. and they would help him, thankfully they did and gave him strong painkillers and penicillen as it is very likely an abcess. At least he`s not suffering now and he`s seeing the dentist tomorrow afternoon.
In the evening we went to see War of the Worlds and we were not disappointed. I was a bit worried as I`m not a Tom Cruise fan but I must admit he was very good in the role of dock worker Ray, who spent most of the film covered in dirt, a bit of a change for him I think. Though the acting credits have to go to 10 yr old Dakota Fanning who played Ray`s daughter Rachel. It really is one of those films that have you glued to the screen and sitting on the edge of your seat the whole time. Well worth seeing in my opinion. Speilberg back at his best.
Now Kerry is on maternity leave, she will be at a loose end much of the time, so this morning she came for a walk with me and Jake. It was a fine morning and I thought it would stay that way, but alas no, I`ve just had to run outside and bring in my washing before it got much wetter. Tomorrow, it`s the midwife in the morning, Danny for the dentist in the afternoon. It looks like another full day for me again!
Before I go I`d just like to wish all my American friends a very Happy 4TH of July,
I hope you all have a wonderful day!
I will say goodbye for now, take care and have a lovely day!

Glad to have you back........
Sounds like you had a great weekend.Hope you have a great week.
Sounds like a hectic time...I hope Kerry enjoys her maternity leave :) I have a stage 2 car seat going begging if you're interested! I know baby's still a bump and it's a few months off yet, but it served great as a second seat for grandma's and Grandads!

Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend Sandra. I hope that Danny feels better soon. Glad that Kerry has stopped work now, so has Becky - she finished on Thursday. But she will not get much rest though, not with the builders in and likely to be for at least another seven weeks. xxxxxx
Have a lovely day too Sandra, hope the sun comes out for you.

Oh, glad you had fun "hanging out". Those nights are fun when you can sit around with friends and family and talk and laugh and enjoy being together.
Glad Kerry is on her maternity leave. She should sleep a lot. I guess every woman who has had a child is telling her that!!!
Hope Jim is doing ok.
Thanks for the 4th wishes. You have a good 4th too even though you are not celebrating independence day. LOL.
I will eat a bbq rib for you today.

I'm glad you enjoyed that movie War of the Worlds - it does look good from the trails I've seen, lots of great special effects I expect. Hope Danny's tooth got sorted out. I had a similar thing earlier this year, so I know what he was going through!

I love gazebo's in fact my husband and I renewed our wedding vows in one, in front of family and friends at a park within our state at the 25 year mark. So, when I see that word...I jump for joy. Glad you all had such a great time and it won't be too much longer for Kerry...count down time!
