HEAT, TRAVEL AND ORANGE JUICE

everybody....... and welcome to a very hot Sunday.  The sky has been clear and blue all day with not a sign of a cloud anywhere.  I will be very happy when it cools down just a little, the day is okay but I can`t sleep and I`m lucky to get a couple of unbroken hours sleep.  All in all no more than five overall.  The way things are going I`ll be carrying my luggage in the bags under my eyes when we go on holiday!

Jim is much closer to getting the patio finished.  He just has the back doorstep to do and that`s it until next year when he will have dreamt up his next project.  I wouldn`t like anyone to think I keep telling him to do all this work.  He just likes to do it as he gets bored on his days off, unless we go out somewhere.  So he finds things to do, which suits me too, but he isn`t driven by a nagging wife....lol!  ( At least not usually!).

Since bathing Jake yesterday,  his coat is nice and soft and shiny, the downside is that it`s also falling out all over the house.  I have a question... As dogs moult so much, why don`t they go bald?...lol

Jim and I went to visit his mum today at the nursing home.  All the windows were open and there was a portable air-conditioner being used but it was still boiling hit in there.  We stayed for an hour and then went on to visit his sister and brother-in-law.  We stayed another hour and then started for home.  Usually there is a lot of traffic on the M4 at that time but the carriageway on our side was clear all the way.  Not so for the drivers going into London, as the traffic tailed back for several miles!  After we came off the motorway we stopped and had dinner at the King William carvery.  I had roast turkey and all the trimmings, it was delicious and even more so as I didn`t have to cook it myself.  Usually on a sunday this restautant is full to capacity with famillies but I think the hot weather deterred a lot of people, whereby making the way clear for us to get our food straight away.  We sat near a airconditioner unit and I had an ice cold drink of fresh orangejuice with ice....so refreshing.

I`m signing off now as Jim and I will be taking Jake for his evening walk very soon.  Enjoy the evening and take care all of you.  I`ll leave you with some blonde jokes......

BLONDE ON BLONDES

~~  What do you call it when a blonde dyes her hair brunette?  ~~

Artificial Intelligence

~~  What do you call an eternity?  ~~

Four blondes in four cars at a four way stop.

~~  What do you give a blonde who has everything?  ~~

Penicillin

~~  What does the postcard from the blonde`s holiday say?  ~~

Having a wonderful time.  Where am I?

~~  What do you call it when a blonde blows in another blondes ear?  ~~

Data transfer

~~  Did you hear about the blonde who just bought an A.M. radio?  ~~

It took her two weeks to figure out that you could play it at night.

Certainly has been hot Sandra although they say it will start cooling down now but no sign of the much needed rain.  Glad you had a good trip and that the road was clear.  Good old Jim, your garden will look like a showplace by the time he has finished. xxxxxxx

Hi Sandra, the little girl with the net in the creek is a very nice grahic!  My dog sheds and makes more dust to land on my stereo and electronics, but I am willing to put up with it because he is such a great companion.  I adopted him since a friend found him hanging around his house almost 1 year ago.  Salty is a part of my life now after having had 3 dogs previously.  I could not bear to think of what might have happened to him, had my friend not have found him a good home.  The blonde jokes are unfair to such an intellegent species.  They need to be found good homes too!  lol    Thank you for the very nice comments on my artwork!  ~mark~

Keep cool....It's pretty hot here....close to 90 I think and very humid.  There is a breeze.  Storms are building.  Glad I'm not near Cancun, aren't you?  I feel bad for those beach goers on the Yucatan.  Jake, enjoy your walk!

Glad you and Jim had such a good lunch. I'm surprised the windows were open at the nursing home with an air conditioner going. Seems as if that would have let all the cooler air go out the windows. Loved the graphics today and the blond jokes. I believed Mark enjoyed the blond jokes also & came back atcha. LOL. Helen
