AN EASY DAY ( In my dreams!)

Oriental lilies

Hello all my journal friends.  Today started quietly enough by anyone`s standards.  I got up at 8, had a leisurely breakfast, read the paper, tidied the house, showered and dressed and went out for a walk with Jake. One the way there Jim phoned me and told me to enjoy  having an easy day today, I said I was looking forward to doing nothing and turned into the field.   We were walking around the back field for the second when my mobile rang again, this time it was my hairdresser to say that Kerry, who was having her hair done this morning, had passed out in the chair.  I hurriedly put Jake on the lead and made for home.  It took me just 10 mins to cover a normal 20 mins walk, took him indoors, grabbed my car keys and drove straight to the hairdresssers.  When I got there Kerry had a fan on her and she was very pale, apparently she had almost fainted three times at this point.  The girls at the salon had taken good care of her and I thanked them quickly and took her home again.  Then I called our doctor`s surgery who told me to take her straight there.  After being examined the doctor said that her blood pressure had dropped a bit too low which would account for the fainting.  She then took it again a few minutes later and the pressure was almost normal by then, the doctor and the nurse there were really nice and told her not to hesitate to come back if it happened again.  At this moment Kerry is asleep on the settee downstairs with Jake keeping guard over her!  The whole thing left me with a headache but after a couple of paracetamol I was right as rain.  When Jim came home I told him `so much for my quiet day!`,

I took the photo of the lillies last night.  I think they lovely flowers and they have been in the vase for over a week, and they are still as fresh as when they first went in.  They are always good value for money.

Jim is laying some more slabs today and hopefully he will be finished before too long.  He just wants to get it all over with but he thinks he might have to buy some more before he can finish.  He has all sorts of plans and is already talking about his next outdoor project for next year.  He wants to have a solid base for the garden furniture and some other building work that I`m not too sure about yet.  In the winter it will be the hall and stairway that will be done next, then all new doors to be fitted upstairs.  He complains about it a but I know he secretly loves it really.  He doesn`t like me getting in his way even though I said I`d help, oh well.....at least he can`t say I didn`t offer!

I`m off in a minute to make some coffee but before I go, have a great day and take care, bye for now.

TODAYS STOCK MARKET REPORT

Helium was up, feathers were down.

Paper was stationary.

Flourescent lighting was dimmed in light trading.

Knives were up sharply.

Cows steered into a bull market.

Pencils lost a few points.

Hiking equipment was trailing.

Elevators rose, while esculators contined their slow decline.

Weights were up in heavy trading.

Light switches were off.

Mining aquipment reached rock bottom.

Diapers remained unchanged.

Shipping lines stayed at an even keel.

The market for raisins dried up.

Coca Cola fizzled.

Caterpillar stock inched up a bit.

Sun peaked at midday.

Balloon prices were inflated.

Scott Tissue touched a new bottom.

And batteries exploded in an attempt to recharge the market.

You know that happened to J while we were on holiday in the middle of a shop on Truro - not a single person offered to help - not one and she was very clearly pregnant

Hopefully Kerry will be OK.  That must have been quite a scare.  It certainly turned your day around.  Fantastic photo  with shadows of the lilies.  The stock market quotes are funny.  Thanks again for visiting my journal.
Take care and God bless,

First the lillies are stunning.  They look a bit like 'Stargazer'...one of my favorites.  :)

And oh, such a way to have your leisurely day changed.  I do hope Kerry is doing better now.  What a scare!  Don't forget how these things can affect us so remember to take extra good care of yourself right now.  And Jake...Labs always seem to know when a human is not feeling well.

Keep us posted.
