COOLING OFF!

Hello everyone ......phew it`s even hotter today than yesterday.  It`s in the nineties and there is a breeze but it feels more like the hot air from a hairdrier than refreshing.  Before long I think I`ll just melt away, I wasn`t built for this heat. Outside there`s nobody around, and I doubt anyone will be sitting in their gardens sunbathing.

Jim has done more work on the patio and his is now working directly outside the back door.  So what with having to have all the doors open because of the heat I am now treated to cement dust all over the kitchen.  As soon as I clear it up it settles again AND it makes me cough.  Tomorrow I will make the token gesture of washing the floor tiles, for all the good it will do, but it will make me feel better knowing that tomorrow no building work will be done and I can walk on a clean floor for the next 24 hrs!   Because tomorrow, Jim is going fishing again.  I just hope he does better than the last two times he`s been.  Both times were very hot and the fish weren`t biting.  Oh well, it`s his hobby and not mine!

Also tomorrow morning I`m taking Kerry to see the midwife.  Hopefully it will put her mind at rest as to the position the baby is lying in.  I enjoy going with her as the midwife always talks to me as well as Kerry and she is such a nice person who always makes her feel at ease.

I`ve decided that for tomorrow`s dinner I will make a steak salad.  While shopping today there was a really good offer for grilling steak and I just had to buy some.  I  don`t eat red meat very often but I thought it looked really appetising.  I`ll make my own potato salad to eat with it and beef tomatoes, which I adore.  I must admit that hot food holds little appeal for me in hot weather.

I don`t have anything else to report today so I`ll just leave you with some more PUNS.  Bye for now and have alovely day.

Your steak salad sound so delicious - and I love things like potato salad - yummmmmy! yes - it's far too hot even to sit in the garden these days. With England at least, you always know it'll end soon - with some fresh rain and possibly a good thunder storm. Mind you, no one can be that sure these days - with climate change and all the rest of it!

Hope Kerry's baby has turned in the right position. Hope you soon get some relief from the heat wave you all are ahving. Good luck to Jim on his fishing trip. It still may be to hot for the fish to be biting. Ken & I don't go when it is so hot.
Love your graphics for today and also the puns. Helen

Sandra, on our weather station, the outside temperature at this time of the evening is registering 95F!  I think you are wise about Kerry.  I do not envy you the concrete dust!  We are having salad tonight for the third evening running, neither of us could fancy anything hot or cooked!

Best wishes to Kerry.  Good luck on the fishing.  I have a small area to cool, so I am fortunate on these uncomfortable days to have some AC.  Hopefully the weather will get better.   -mark-

mmmm...your salad sounds good.

Have you ever noticed that we spell things different sometimes....like in America, we may say appetizing, and you say appetising.  And we say realize, and you say realise or something like that.  I notice that we have this "Z" and "S" thing going on a bit different.  LOL!  I love it though!  It's fun to learn about rooks and tubes and things!  Never ever would we have a tube for a subway.  It is a subway right.  LOL!  Oh...and do you have french fries or are they promme frits or something like that.  Are you laughing at me yet?

First, love the new photo of you!  Lovely.  Second, funny you should mention steak salad for dinner tomorrow because I'm having the same thing.  Hmmm, very interesting.  Sandra and Dona are now eating the same food on the same night of the week.

Actually, it's just too hot to cook, and the steak is leftover from tonight!

Have a wonderful weekend.  Hope you get some reprieve from the heat.

Dona
