Hello everyone,
What a wet soggy day it`s been here. The sun`s shining now and seems as if it`s laughing at us, the majority of the day gone and NOW sun.... too late.
Today we went shopping in a town called Uxbridge, 5 miles up the road from us. I haven`t been there for years and how it`s changed since then, very bright and modern, with lots of independent shops as well as all the major stores. We really enjoyed looking around there and will be going back again soon. Maybe we`ll go there instead of going into Slough. It`s very boring shopping in the same place all the time. We had a lovely cup of coffee and a pannetoni in an Italian coffee shop, while it poured down with the incessant rain outside. I bought myself a new book, " The Family Way" by Tony Parsons, I just love his books and I`m sure I won`t be disappointed by this new one. It`s been ages since a book really grabbed my attention like this one does so I`ll start reading it tonight in bed, the best time for me apart from the fact that I`ll probably read for too long then oversleep the next morning! I also bought a couple of box files for Jim`s ebay documentation and some research I`ve been doing. I found a discount stationers in Uxbridge, these places are usually quite pricey, so this shop will have to be investigated further.
The actual reason we went to Uxbridge was to buy Jake a new collar. While we were in Black Park on Sunday we met a couple with a young dobermann. The dobe had this smashing silver-link collar, so I asked where they had got it from. They didn`t mind me asking and said they got it from this little pet store in the Old Arcade. Well, we found the place straightaway and we found the collar too. The young man who owns the shop was very helpful and punched an extra hole in the fastener just in case he ever needs it. I hope he doesn`t ever need it, though if he does it means he has got very fat indeed...lol !
When we got home and after we`d walked Jake, Jim put a Firewall on the PC, we also have the Norton System Works, but that doesn`t have to go on just yet, as our Anti-Virus is still in date. It all looks rather complicated so I`ll leave it to Jim to install, then if anything goes wrong I can blame him..lol!
Enjoy the rest of the day and I hope it not raining where you live! :-)

Hope you enjoy the Tony Parsons book - it's always nice to have a new book to look forward to. That Italian coffee shop sounds good too - just the place to be when it's all wet and windy outside.

Thank goodness! I have had a horrible time getting into your comment area. I just wanted to say 'Hi" and thank you for the lovely comment you left on my last entry. I was beginning to get paranoid. AOL just refused to let me say anything to you! LOL Pennie
Be careful with that reading in bed thing, I'm still struggling to get my schedule back in order after falling into that routine!! Bit earlier last night, just after 1am!!
Does Jake approve of his new collar, and are we going to see pics of him wearing it??
