FANTASTIC FRIDAY!

Hello and what a beautiful day.  The sun is shining, the birds are twittering in the trees and the hum of lawnmowers is all around. All in all a perfect day.

This morning I overslept, something I`ve not done for years.  If I hadn`t woken up with cramp in my leg I don`t know what time I`d have surfaced.  As it was, I didn`t get up until 9am,  very late for me.  I`m usually up and about just after 7.  But today, I didn`t rush around, I just took my time.  I fed Jake, put the kettle on and then went outside to put some food on the bird table.  I also scattered several handfuls of Hannah`s fur I`d collected and put into for bags to put outside for nesting material.  I also placed some in the magnolia and around the foot of the bird table.  It`s something I`d always done and the birds seem to appreciate it as they came swooping down to collect their fresh, soft bedding.

Later, after having breakfasted and showered. I went to the Crematorium to take some flowers for my dear late Dad, who would have been 88 today.  He`s been gone now for nearly 21 yrs but today is always a special day for me.  It`s all the more memorable because I was brought up to believe, until the age of 18 that dad`s birthday was the 2nd and not the1st.  Apparently, when he was younger he got really fedup with people saying he was an April Fool and changed his own birthdate! How typical of the way I remember him.  He had a wonderful, dry sense of humour, but he could still be quite poker-faced over some things, this being one.

Today a parcel arrived, my toilet brush?...... no.......Kerry`s Sleepy Slurp?.......almost.  It was the treats I ordered her but the Sleepy Slurp is out of stock until 18th April.  They were very apologetic and said they would give me a refund, but no, I`ll wait for it to be delivered.  Unless of course it takes as long as the flipping toilet brush, then it wouldn`t be worth it as she`ll have had the baby and he`ll be at Nursery by then ...lol.   As for said toilet brush, I await its delivery any time now, but I won`t hold my breath....... watch this space!  I`m also awaiting a dinner service I ordered via the Daily Mail, and some cooker hoodliners I ordered today.

This morning I got a phone call from Labrador Rescue, ( another rescue agency I contacted previous to getting Jake)  I actually filled in the paperwork 3months ago but they only received it 2 weeks ago.   Amazing, obviously the Post Office can`t manage without me on their staff   lol.  They do seem to be having a lot of delivery problems.  We seem to have a different postman each day lately, our regular man Andy must be on leave.

Tomorrow, I will be getting my new trees to plant, with the necessary chicken wire to keep Jake from eating them.  I have decided on a Tamarisk and a Weeping Cherry, they should be just right to fill the gaps at the bottom of the garden.  I may even plant a few climbers there too as it is just a plain piece of lawn there that does absolutely nothing.  All this means a lot of digging for Jim and as I`ve just got him to agree to the trees, I think I`d better take things one step at a time..  lol.

Did anyone watch `Footballers Wives` last night ?   Great stuff!  Total rubbish, but I love it all the same....LOL ;-)

That's a brilliant idea to put out bedding material for the birds! I'm sure they'll make very good use of it all. Hope you get the new trees in all right - Tamerisk is a lovely thing, certain to add a dash of elegance to any garden.
