Hello there on this lovely sunny Saturday. I now have a flowering cherry tree with a Jake proof surround.. Jim just cut out a piece of turf, planted the tree, replaced the turf and `viola!`..... one tree in place. We didn`t bother with the tamarisk when I read how big they get. They grow to about 11 feet wide and it would look out of place in our garden. So I now have to have a look in my gardening book and see what tree would be suitable.
This morning Jim`s mate Steve came round and they talked endlessly about fishing, which was my cue to get on with hanging the washing out and doing other exciting household tasks, while they watched a fishing programme on Top-up TV. Then we took Jake to a different park for his daily run out and he had to find the only muddy puddle for miles around. He did enjoy that roll, especially as we didn`t have towel in the car. Later, after having lunch, we bought the tree and headed of to Pets at Home where we took Jake inside with us. While we were at the till paying, Jake decides that he would cock his leg over a rabbit hutch that was on display. I made a hasty retreat leaving Jim to ask a member of staff to clear it up..hehehe!
I hope everyone has a great weekend. Take it easy and have a good time!

Wish I had a sunny Saturday over here...sigh...finally the snow has melted away..yay! but now is raining....Like your tree!!
Robyn :)
The tree looks lovely Sandra but please keep it pruned. Flowering cherry roots can cause an awful lot of trouble. I know from family experience. Lol at Jake cocking his legs. Mike takes ours in there and they try and help themselves to anything they can. They are usually successful as well. xxxxx
Sounds like you can't take Jake anyway without him getting into mischief!! LOL......Hope you had a good day :o)
LOL at Jake. I love cherry trees. We cannot have one because of the horses. If the horses eat on it they could get deathly ill.
I'll post a pic of our cherry at some point, which is overdue for pruning. Jeanno's right about the roots. Beautiful when they flower though.
Cherry tree blossoms are gorgeous. We have had a couple of cherry trees. I love your facts! xox
Lovely cherry tree Sandra :o)
My neighbour - when I was a little girl - had a huge flowering cherry tree in their front garden, one half with white flowers and one half with pink!! Most strange, but pretty :o)
