Happy Sunday one and all!
Today has been so busy, but lovely all the same. The sun shone again and it reached 66 degrees. We decided to make the most of the day. We took Jake out this morning to Black Park where he had a grand old time running around and chasing his Flinga-Ringa before we took him to the lake for a swim. There he met another black lab of the same age and they swam back and forth incessantly, chasing tennis balls and sticks until they were both really tired but still willing to have one more go.
When we got home we had a treat in store for him in the shape of a bath. What a laugh that was too. I filled a bucket of warm water and mixed in his shampoo. Jim held on to his lead and I tipped it over him a bit at a time, soaped him all over then hosed him down. When he was dry he looked a proper treat..... lovely and shiny and he smells like a dream! I think he rather liked it too...how long he`ll stay like that, with his liking for muddy puddles, I`d give him 48 hours maximum!
We them left him to sleep for the afternoon while we went to a Car Boot Sale a couple of miles away in Maidenhead. We had a good nose around and I came away with a brand new Tefal frying pan. They started off at £5 and I decided to come back later, when, I saw the stallholder had marked them down to £4, so I offered him £3 and he accepted.......result! I can`t resist a bargain and I badly need a needed a new one.
After we left there, Jim suggested going for a drive in the country, so off we went and ended up in Cookham, right next to a particularly pretty part of the River Thames. We had a much needed cup of coffee and a slice of home-made lemon cake...( yummy) and then walked by the river up to the nearby lock, where we sat and watched the river roll by and ducks and geese just letting themselves be moved along by the current which is quite strong there. We were there for nearly 2hours and almost lost track of the time, as you do when you are having a nice, relaxing time. Jim has a week off work next week so we are going to travel to various places along the river with, of course Jake in tow. Let`s hope the weather stays nice for us. Jim`s holidays are always at odd times. He was off work today on rest. Tomorrow he`s fishing with a mate, Tuesday he has to go into work, and then he`s off for the week, at least I think it`s then..lololol! I hope you all had a nice weekend so far and enjoy the rest of Sunday. :-)

Glad you had a lovely day. I love the Thames, we did a cruise down there for a week years ago. Well, if you are going out and about, do not forget to take your camera and get us lots of lovely shots. xxxx
Sounds like a great day. When I had dogs, I found they always hated baths - slinking away with tails between their legs when they realised what they were in for! Afterwards of course they just went beserk - racing around in circles and rolling in the filthiest dirt they could find!
David.

Sounds like you had a wonderful day. I love the Thames, especially between Henley and Marlow.
