Sorry I havent added to my journal for a few days but my PC crashed and I`ve had a devil of a time getting things sorted out. It all started when we decided to get Broadband, all the benefits sounded great so we thought we`d give it a whirl. The modem arrived last Saturday and we installed it on the Sunday. Well that was when all hell broke loose, technologically speaking. I was using the PC as usual Monday afternoon and things seemed no different with broadband so I was not at all impressed, by the late afternoon everything was going wrong, it was taking ages to download everything and then AOL stopped responding altogether and then the whole thing just crashed. The most annoying thing was that I`d been lazy about backing up all my files (of which there were many) so I lost the lot. I could have kicked myself. After many phone calls and threats to throw said PC out of the window it turned out that the Norton Anti-Virus was fighting with the built-in Firewall and it resulted in a full scale war and the result of the punchup was the crashing of my PC! I am now singing the praises of Broadband which I think is absolutly fantastic and would recommend to anyone with the caution of maybe not using the Firewall and AntiVirus together. As was recommended to us , we have stayed with the Norton, and not downloaded the Firewall as there has been no problem with the former in the past. Broadband is marvellous in making it easier to replace some of the files I lost ie. all my graphics for starters as it takes half of the time to download. Anyhow for the time being I have to go and work on it all and will be writing again tomorrow or Saturday. Bye now folks... ...

Oh Sandra, know how you feel. I had problems at first with Broadband because it clashed with Norton. I have now switched to McAffee (some of it comes free with Aol) if you look under security. Have had no problems since. Glad you are getting it sorted. Take care my friend.

But half the photos don't show up - did you know that?
And like Jeanette you have graphics that make it so wide it makes it hard to read.
Broadband is great I really love it.

I had similar problems, my firewall and virus protection were waging a war inside my computer! I was having all kinds of problems. All sorted now by using McAfee firewall and anti-virus. Broadband is so great isn't it! I recently got that too, in fact only got my computer a few months ago, I still get confused sometimes! Glad you're all sorted now :)
