Ups and Downs On Mother`s Day

Hello Everyone,

Happy Mother`s day to you all. I`ve had an up and down sort of day today with more ups than downs...lol!  This morning I was thrilled to get a lovely phone call from our dear friend Jeannette, she sounds so well considering what`s she`s been through this last week. I just want to let you know that she`s well and I`ve leave it to her to explain everything once she`s able to get back online again.

The above photo shows the cards and presents I got from Kerry and Roman. Kerry bought the two figurines, (she knows I like those particular ones) and Roman bought me the single large orchid (isn`t he a sweetheart?). Kerry also bought a small pack of truffles but I ate them when I was doing the ironing...lol!

Danny bought me this bouquet of orchids because he said he knows I have a passion for them. I didn`t realise he did but it shows he notices these things, not that it`s really possible to overlook all nine of them...lol!

Dan rang me later this morning to tell me that his car had been clamped outside the gym where he was fifteen minutes into his workout. Luckily someone saw what happened and told him what had happened. It cost him a small fortune to get it unclamped, £352 to be exact, daylight robbery but there was nothing he could do about it but pay or his car would be towed away and he would be charged £35 a day for storage! The basic charge was £150 and added to that was the presence of the tow vehicle, ready to take the car away, even if it hadn`t actually done so. Then 17.5% VAT was added plus a 2.5% surcharge. They also had a section for an abuse charge which didn`t apply to him, though I`m sure he felt like being VERY abusive!  Anyway I`m sure he won`t let himself be caught like that again, it might all be legal but it was a nice mornings work for the clamper...grrr!

Also I`ve been getting loads of cold callers today offering me everything from double glazing to offering `luxury` holidays for free..hmm! I told Salina if the phone rang once more I`d throw the thing down the toilet...lol!

Bye for Now. :o)

I love your orchids Sandra! Poor Danny, that's a lot of money, I think having to pay that amount would entitle him to be abusive! Lol! It's nice to hear Jeannette is doing well. Those cold callers are a pain, I always tell them they'll have to get in touch with my agent if they wish to talk to me! Lol! Try it, it leaves them wondering who the hell you are! That's a fortune your Danny had to pay to get rid of the clamp!!  How annoying, I'm not surprised that they have a section for an abuse charge!
