Oh Happy Day!

Hello Everyone,

Great news, my blood tests have come back negative in every aspect so I`m not in the slightest bit anaemic. My blood pressure is a very healthy low and my heart is fine also. But...I have to be tested for thyroid unbalance now. Many years ago I was found to have a small goitre in my thyroid gland but the doctors wanted to leave it alone unless it grew in size. Well it doesn`t seem to have but the doctor says she thinks my problems might stem from that so I`ll have to wait and see.  I can`t get an appointment for the blood to be taken until next week so I`m going to the hospital to get it done after work tomorrow then I can make an appointment for the doctor in two weeks time for the results.  I must say I`m more than a bit relieved I won`t have to have vitamin B12 injections for the rest of my life and despite having this cold I feel much better already!

Also on a much different note, Jim has had some very interesting news. Since his Mum died in January he has started researching his family tree, starting with her side of the family with some very interesting results which have astounded his sisters and other family members. Today we found an address and telephone number of someone we think can put the final piece in one particular jigsaw puzzle. I`m really enjoying getting involved in his research and will help as much as I can.

Anyway my friends, this was only meant to be a brief visit so I`ll say goodnight to you all. Take care and bye bye for now. :o)

It's always great when the tests come back normal.  I've had nodules on both thyroids and had to have them removed surgically so have to take thyroid medication everyday for the rest of my life.  Searching the family history is so fun and rewarding.  My great grandmother always said that she was related to Pocahontas.  Everyone laughed at her but my desire is to do some deep searching and see if she was right.  Pocahontas did travel to England where she married  and had a son and I believe she is buried there somewhere.  So who knows...Linda in Washington

Good to hear your news Sandra!  I have an underactive thyroid which means I take Thyroxin daily and have regular blood tests to make sure the dosage is right, I've been told that I'll be taking them for the rest of my life but that's no big deal.

Also it's nice to hear that you'ere taking an interest in the family tree!  I have gone back to the 1700's on my mum and my dad's side, it's really interesting.  Linda in Washington is right, Pocahontas is buried in England, in Gravesend in fact (very appropriate name for a place!) which is in Kent not far from where I live, perhaps I'll go there one day and take a photo of her grave.  Best wishes for your continued good health. ~~Pat

Hi there, I am very pleased that things are working out for you and that your health tests came back all right.

Will you please tell Jim that I wish him all the best with his family tree for I have been able to get good results, although astonishing at first, when I began to search my past.

I have lived my life, apart from a short break when I was a teenager, in South Yorkshire and I have now found out that I was born in Durham in the North East.

With the help of two marvelous local people, which I will never forget, I was able to see the old font, now not in use but still a feature of the church, where I was Christened.  I am a different man now that I have been able to trace back to where I was born and I hope that Jim is as content with his findings as I am with mine.

By for now,

John.

I am so very glad for you Sandra, I have been praying so hard that you did not have pernicious anaemia. I hope those prayers helped and it has certainly cheered me to hear your good news.  If it is a thyroid problem it can easily be controlled with tablets.  I hope I am as lucky when I have to go for my tests, which you know about.  I cannot bear the thought of a bad outcome.  So glad you are doing your family tree, it is so interesting and I would love to know what you have discovered.
Once again, so glad for you xxxxxx

I'm so glad you don't have to take those nasty B-12 shots!  Ouchie!  They hurt.  I hope they find the problem and that it is something simple and easy to fix.  Good luck with Jim's family history search.
Hugs,  Kathy

Oh Sandra, such good news!  What a relief!  Please don't concern yourself too much with your thyroid.  My mother had problems with hers since I was born and was sorted with a tablet a day.  I am so relieved that you are healthy in all the majors concerns.

Please share your family history results when you get them finalized.  I find those things fascinating!

Big Hugs,
Susie
