Wallpaper and Kites

 

Hello everyone,

I hope you`re all having a nice weekend. Phew, I`ve been a busy bee today, I`ve cleaned the house from top to bottom and then some.  I`ve noticed just how much the windows need a clean so I`ll do that, weather permitting, on Monday.  Jim and I went to Homebase to choose some wallpaper and agreed straightaway on three that we really like. They are all a nice light cream colour and they will definitely brighten up the walls plus it can be scrubbed so there`s not the worry of Jake spraying dirt on the walls and not being able to clean it. We won`t buy it until Thursday when there is a 10% off sale and we have a money off voucher to use.  We like to save money where we can...this hallway is costing more than we bargained for.  We also found the laminate flooring that we like so now all there is left to choose is the stair carpet and that shouldn`t be too hard.  I`ve already seen the curtains I want and Jim leaves things like that to me. 

                         

It`s been another lovely day with all my washing drying on the line.  The wind is still really cold though, not at all Spring-like.  I can`t wait for it to warm up and then maybe we`ll see a few more flowers blossom and we can then turn off the central heating.  Which reminds me, we have trouble with our boiler again.  At first after our nephew repaired it it was running beautifully.  The leak had stopped and the heating came on when it was supposed to.  Now the leak has returned and the boiler won`t light unless we take the front off and believe it or not, blow down a small tube, replace it and voila! the heating comes on.  Now we are waiting for our nephew to get back to us because it can`t go on like this.  I have a horrible feeling that there is a design fault with this boiler as it`s never been very good in the seven years since we`ve had it.  I hope we don`t have to have anew one, even though our nephew can get one with a discount, it still won`t be cheap.  Oh dear, I really need a job......sigh!

                                     

This afternoon I went dog walking with Jim around the back field.  While Jake ran around and chased rabbits we were watching a couple of men with an enormous kite or para glider, I think they`re called  It was one of those things where it carries the person up in the air and the man was wearing a crash helmet and a harness.  He said he`d never done it before and it showed.  The other man with him had done it many times before and Jim and I were in fits of laughter watching the maiden flight.  The man in the harness jokingly told his young daughter to get her phone ready to call 999 just in case.  Jim called to the man and asked him what should he do if he took off and disappeared from view, the man called back and asked us to pray...lol!  As it was he never did take off as the kite kept on crashing to the ground.  It did make for an entertaining afternoon though.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the day.  I intend to finish reading all my journals now and then play some Bookworm.  I`ve been really bad at it lately and I must get better. Oh dear, that sounds a bit like a school report doesn`t it?....lol!  Anyway, Bye Bye and take care. :o)
