Hello everyone,
I hope you`ve all had a lovely sunny day today. It`s been really lovely here, really warm and sunny, just what the doctor ordered eh?! Actually, it seems we have Jeannette (Jottings) to thank for it. You know what I mean Jeannette...lol!
Jim and I had an early start as we wanted to go to Homebase and B&Q to get some more bits for the hallway. We went to Homebase first to take back some unused rolls of wallpaper and bought a new curtain pole and net curtain rail and the laminate flooring. It`s called Rustic Oak and is just the colour I was looking for, it`s an excellent contrast to our woodwork and will match the carpet beautifully. We then went to B&Q and Jim bought a couple of things to use in the fitting of the flooring and we were supposed to buy a trap for our rat but quite forgot. It seems that he/she has had a reprieve until Friday when I go into town and buy one. Afterwards we went into Mothercare and bought Roman a pushchair. Kerry is over the moon with it because unlike the usual buggies that have been around for so long, this one is actually a pushchair like the old-fashioned type. They are a lot nicer looking than the old ones that I remember my little brother having but are built of the same principle. We road-tested it with Roman sitting on board and he loved it too, good job as he`ll be the one transported in it....lol!
After all the shopping we went to the garden centre for a leisurely lunch. It`s so nice to go there and as they know usas do all the regular customers there, and most importantly they make great coffee, lovely grub and all at a very reasonable price. Once we got home Jim decided to take advantage of the lovely weather and mow the lawn, I brought in all the dry washing and hung out another lot, you know me and my love of fresh dried clothes straight from the line, the smell is heavenly. Who knows tomorrow it might pour with rain so like Jim, I took full advantage.
This afternoon I finally found a pair of curtains that I liked. There weren`t any in B&Q so I went online to buy the ones I`d seen yesterday but when I looked again it seems I hadn`t read the the small print. Like a lot of adverts it said from £15 which I took to be the smallest size, it wasn`t, it was only the price of the tie-backs. When I looked properly I found they were more than I was prepared to pay so I started my online search again. It didn`t take me long either, The second site I found had a pair almost the same as the other ones and this time they were lined and were in the sale. I`m quite pleased now that I had to look again because I`ve ended up with a much better pair. The only drawback is that I have to wait up to a fortnight for them but I can wait.
Much later this afternoon I was playing with Roman on his little swing. He was so funny as he built up quite a speed and was soon swinging so high I had to slow him down. I had visions the swing going right over the top...lol! Of course he didn`t want to get out when it was time to go indoors but it was time to get ready for bed and he soon found something else to keep himself amused. He went to bed this evening quite exhausted and at the moment he`s snoring his little head off in the other room. Tomorrow he has his appointment with the Dermatologist and I can`t wait to hear how he gets on. As for me tomorrow morning is shopping at Tescos...ugh! I`m not really in the mood for it but like Old Mother Hubbard, my cupboards, though not quite bare, aren`t far off of it so shopping I must go.
Well, that`s enough from me tonight, I`m off to read the rest of your journals now. I hope you all have a very nice evening, whatever you`re doing. Bye Bye for now. :o)

Beautiful flower graphic today. It's about time you all were having some pretty days. Glad you found the flooring you and Jim likes. Maybe it won't take the curtains as long as it says to get there. I would have loved to have seen Roman swinging. I sure hope they find out tomorrow if some of Roman's foods are causing his itching rash. In the meantime while you are waiting until Friday to get your rat trap maybe Jake can catch the thing. Have a good night.
Hugs, Helen
Happy Birthday to Jim for yesterday!!! Could not get into your journal yesterday but better late than never, lol!
Hi Sandra first of all love your flower at the top of your entry very spring like. You must have had a great day spending all your hard earned but you got what you wanted which is great. Have you noticed kids on swings you never have to teach them to pile it up don't know if you know what I mean it may be another Scottishism let me know and I will try to explain if you need me to. Have a nice evening Love Joan.
Im so pleased you found your flooring ,the laminate is so easy to keep clean ,the only thing, Scooby tapdances on ours ,you know pitter patter all down the hall lol Will be thinking of Roman tomorrow ,hope they can find out what is causing his rash ,would be so lovely if they could clear it up ........Jan xx
What a busy, productive day! Isn't it fun to find something on sale? I just love that!!! Hope you had a restful sleep.

Well, you got lucky Sandra, our sunshine only lasted until 11.30 a.m. and then it clouded over and became dull with a cold strong breeze so I never got to spend time outside. Maybe we had better reverse it and you say on YOUR journal Bring Me Sunshine then we might get a whole day of it here. Buggy sounds nice and I can imagine his little face on the swing. Glad you got the curtains sorted in the end. When all is done you will have to post pictures for us. I love the smell of washing straight from the line as well, you cannot beat it and I also got Mike to mow the lawn , he was quite glad it was cool

We had a nice day today too and it's helping me to feel better I think... Isn't a warm sunny spring day just the best. Hope tomorrow is the same, Sandra
You & Jim are always so busy..it makes me tired. I feel like I need to take a nap after reading about your daily adventures. Roman will love being outside and being pushed here and there. I've never met a baby yet that didn't enjoy their daily rides. Linda
We had our lovely 'Sunny' Day yesterday, fine but cooler today.
So glad you managed to get the 'Curtains' you wanted.
Sounds like a busy day!
Aileen....X
You had a busy day!! Can we see pics of the new curtains once they arrive? Also a picture of Roman in his pushchair?
Have a good night.
Pamela
A late Happy Birthday to Jim! It has been a beautiful sunshiney day here but cool at 60F . I can just imagine how happy Roman is with the swing. Your online shopping seems to be a success. It pays to not have to drive and pay for gas. We think that our $3/gallon is going cause us to go hunger which is what one student was saying on TV that her food money was being spent on. You would think it was a bargain I'm sure. mark
I finally got to see your flower change images. It was first a black box going on and off which I get often. I hope my computer has managed to be able to view the graphics better than it has been.
Glad you finally found the curtains you wanted. I had the old type of pushchair for my kids. The buggy hadn't been invented then, never did like them and I've never yet manged to collapse one!! We had some sunshine too, I hope it stays around over the holiday weekend! Jeannette xxxx
Sounds like a busy day!!!!!! ;0)
But a fun one!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Hugs, Sugar
What a lovely graphic at the beginning of that entry. It sounds like a busy day that passed quickly and you got a lot accomplished. How much longer do you think it is going to take you to finish up?
Barb
