A Peaceful Easter Sunday

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all having a nice Easter Sunday.  I`ve had a very quiet day with Jim being at work so I`ve been on my own for most of the time.  This morning I woke at about 7.30, got up and made some tea for Jim and Kerry.  Roman was up and sitting on his Mum`s bed full of smiles, which according to Kerry is the norm first thing in the morning.  I gave Little Man his first Easter egg and he thought it was amazing, well the box at any rate.  Jim gave me a box of Thornton`s Continental chocolates, my favourites, much better than an Easter egg as far as I`m concerned and we bought Kerry a Lindt Easter gold bunny.  That`s enough chocolate for to keep us going for a while!

Later this morning we saw lots of people going to the church across the road for the morning service.  It`s always had a large congregation but today there more than ever.  I wonder if they all managed to find a seat, though I`m sure they wouldn`t have minded if they didn`t.  Kerry went home at around 10am and I must admit itwas nice to have them here apart from tiny thing.  I shouldn`t say this about my daughter but I will anyway.  I am very tidy and methodical, I always have been even when the children were small but Kerry is like a whirlwind leaving behind a trail of debris!  Of course I didn`t say anything, I just followed her around tidying up after her.  She wouldn`t notice of course because like me, she has always been the same.  Luckily for us we don`t share the same house because if we did I can guarantee words would be said...lol!

I did my usual daily tour of the garden and while out there did a little pruning .  Then I heard a guitar playing and at first I thought it was a radio playing somewhere.  Then I realised that it was coming from over the fence so not being able to see I went upstairs and saw from the window that our neighbours two houses along were having an outdoor feast with family and friends and providing there own entertainment.  They are a really nice friendly couple with three young children who emigrated here from the Philippines.  I thought how nice it was to celebrate Easter in such a lovely way, and it was really nice to listen to the guitar playing.  I just hope the weather didn`t spoil things for them as it was very overcast and it did eventually rain quite heavily.  They did however, have a marquee in the garden so hopefully it was waterproof and kept them dry.

Did anyone watch Dr Who last night?  I thought it was really good, plus I watched Chocolat with Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp, a smashing film that I`ve seen before but really enjoyed a second time.  I haven`t looked at today`s TV so I don`t know if there`s anything that`s worth watching this evening.  I`d better check the TV listings and find out.  I`ll say goodbye now so enjoy the rest of your day and take care. :o)

Lol at Kerry.  Do you know Becky was so untidy when she lived at home, you had to climb over things just to get into her room. Now she is completely different and very houseproud.  When the boys made a mess today she cleaned it all up for us.  I did not get any chocolate, first time ever:(  Mike got me flowers but I did drop big hints to Becky that Thorntons do Diabetic chocolates and lived in hopes but was unlucky. So, a new first, no chocolate for the first time since I was a young child.  How nice to hear the guitar playing but even with a marquee it must have been quite chilly out there.  I very much enjoyed Dr. Who and I have also seen Chocolat twice, but then I can never get enough of the gorgeous Johnny! xxxxxx

I thought Dr Who was just stunning - brilliant writing, brilliant acting, brilliant production and a good Easter message, if a somewhat simplistic one.   I didn't watch Chocolat as, good though the film is, I preferred the book.   Joanne Harris is one of our best current writers.  Not much on this evening but I shall enjoy (I hope) New Tricks which starts the new series tomorrow.   Best wishes,
Linden
