Spring in the garden...and the only daffs I have are in a vase!
Hello everyone,
Welcome to a glorious day. Lots of sunshine all day long despite the frosty start and chilly wind. So nice, that Jim cut the grass for the first time today and we now have a tidyish garden. We still have to clear away the winter weeds but they don`t look too bad so I`ll get stuck in there tomorrow. Jim thinks that one of the cherry trees still has some life left, hmm...I`m not too sure about that but I`m humour him for the time being and won`t dig it up just yet. I made up the above collage of some of the flowers that have opened up in the garden. The magnolia is looking really nice now, as is the flowering currant. I can`t for the life of me remember the name of the white flower at the top and the only daffs I have are from Tesco, and are sitting in a vase on the kitchen window sill.
Kerry has been feeling poorly and went along to see the nurse at the doc`s surgery this afternoon. She now has an appointment for the doc tomorrow after the nurse consulted her text book and couldn`t come up with an answer. I hope the doc tomorrow doesn`t need a text book to find out the problem!! Roman as usual stayed with me and was as happy as could be though he made a right mess with his milk and biscuit. Oh well at least Jake comes in useful with the biscuit crumbs...lol! Later when Jim came home he got Roman`s swing out of the shed. A friend gave it to us before he was born and we didn`t think he be able to use it just yet. In fact, he really loved it and got the hang of swinging himself straight away and was completely fearless and even started to cry when it was time to stop!
I couldn`t make up my mind which one to post so I decided on both of them!
This morning before I walked Jake I put my back out just by picking up the washing basket. I already had my coat on and he had his lead on so I couldn`t disappoint him. Off we went with me walking like a clockwork duck, or at least that`s what it seemed like and I was just hoping that I would be able to walk a little way at least. However it seemed to ease as I walked so we ventured further afield and the only hiccup was when a cat ran out in front of us and Jake pulled away to get at it.,...ouch, it did hurt too. But still we pressed on and ended up walking at least three miles through the lanes and back home again. Everything is so pretty at the moments with cherry blossom and magnolias in flower. On days like today it`s really a pleasue to get out, bad back or no bad back. I`ll take my camera on the next fine day out, Jake`s really good now and I can let go of his lead, ask him to sit and I can take as many photos as I want. Something I couldn`t have done last year.
Anyway, that`s all for today. I hope you`re all enjoying a lovely day wherever you are. Bye Bye for now. :o)

Sam still won't sit still off the lead and he is almost 9!! The pics are lovely, and Roman is quite a little man now!!!
What wonderful pictures Sandra. I am afraid we have nothing like that in the garden. I wonder if it because we are so near the cost and get colder winds. Usually there is lots out in our garden by now. Makes me quite envious. As to getting our swing out, far far too cold. I do hope Kerry gets sorted out quickly.
Glad you are a Gene Pitney fan as well. He was much better known over here than in his own country.
Love the pictures of the flowers ~ the gardens are really beginning to look lovely~ Do hope the Doctor can sort Kerry out ~ (without a text book) Had to laugh at Jake coming in handy to clear the biscuit crumbs ~ Do you remember those Bicky Pegs you could buy they had a whole through the top and you threaded ribbon through the hole and put it round the babys neck ~ to help with teething ~ they were as hard as rock ~ wonder if they still do them ~ Roman looks really sweet in his swing ~ Hope your back is better ~ Ally

Love the flower pictures, thay are so pretty. The pictures of Roman and Jake are really good. Hope Kerry soon finds out what the problem is and has a quick recovery. Jake has become really good if he will sit when you tell him to do so. I hope your back doesn't act up anymore. That was quite a long walk you and Jake took. Have a good night. Helen

Signs of sweet spring!!! Your magnolias are gorgeous! Oddly enough, my daffies are blooming (got to get some pics of them!) and my magnolias have not, yet.
Roman looks quite delighted with the swing! Baby D has a new thing now, she makes shrugs her shoulders and purses her lips together...frankly, she resembles a howler monkey when she does it! LOL!!!!

Roman looks so happy on his swing so no wonder he complained when you took him off it!! I love your magnolia tree. Hope your back is ok now. Eve
It certainly is looking colourful out there at the moment - where I work you can see nothing but daffs out the window it looks lovely :-) But makes me wish I was out there lol............Glad your back eased with the walk. Love the photos of Roman and good luck to Kerry at the docs xx

Glad you had a nice day, it was quite good here too. Today is sunny but a bit cold, I got used to the weather in South America being in the 90's!! I hope your back is OK now, it's so easy to put it out, walking does help. Love the pics of Roman in his swing! Hope Kerry can get sorted out at the doctors. I enjoyed your flowers and read your entry on the carp fishing expedition yesterday. The second and third photo in this entry is cut off below the top of Roman's head. The only way I can catch Salty when he is lose is to have some lunchmeat to tempt him with. mark
The photos of Roman in his swing and Jake finally downloaded when I saved the entry. He looks like he is having great fun swinging. mark
Roman is one happy baby..Jake just looks like he is his protector...loved the photos and so happy you had a nice day...hugs and love,
Joyce
I loved swings so much my parents bought one for me when i was little...Although it was a single swing it was massive like a proper playground one...they bought it because the playground was at other end of our village and too far for me to get to on my own...When my mum moved house 8 years ago she left it as it was concreted into the ground and had been for a long number of years...I think the new people tore it down though :o( Our house was very popular with all the kids round about because of my swing LOL Caff xxx
LOVE the flower pics! What a gorgeous smile on that little man! So sorry your back is messed up. ;) C. http://journals.aol.com/gdireneoe/thedailies
More wonderful photos. Glad you're enjoying some lovely weather. We are having our typical spring....warm and windy as all get out. We had 60mph gusts and sandy skies on Thursday. Today was very breezy but not as bad. Hope your back is feeling better!
