Hello everyone,
Welcome to what has been a lovely day. The weather has been much warmer, very sunny and Spring like. Whilst out with Jake this morning I had to take my coat off I was so warm!
I spent the early morning cleaning the oven, a job I can`t stand, but the results spoke for themselves when I put the shelves back in. It looked brand new, far to clean to ever again use for cooking food......the little burns I got on my arms were worth it in the end...and I DID wear the gloves provided with the cleaning kit! Talking of gloves, this morning on our walk I took Jake into the back field for a good run, I saw him rummaging in the long grass and he came out with something in his mouth and brought it over to me....it was a black woollen glove, the kind that Jim always wears, and he dropped it at my feet. I thanked him for the `present` and walked on with Jake bringing up the rear with the glove in his mouth. It was to stay there until we got home, when he dropped it outside the back door. I really wonder if he thought it was one of Jims gloves.
This afternoon I had Roman for a couple of hours while Kerry had to go to the airport admin. to get her work passes re-activated. She is on her second day off today and goes back tomorrow. I decided as the weather was so nice to take Roman for a walk in his buggy. I haven`t pushed a baby in a buggy since my two were little, it was a lovely feeling and I noticed how people smiled at me when the walked by. Either they were thinking what a young and attractive grandmother Roman has, or what an old mother...lolol! He was as good as gold today, after a couple of days of being miserable. Kerry has found a great Mother and Baby group where everyone is really friendly and the staff who run the place are really nice too. She says she will definitely be going back as the atmosphere with all those happy children did Roman the world of good what with singing songs and playing games, what more could a little boy want?! Anyway, back to this afternoon when he was staying with me, he sat in his inflatable ring and played with his toys. Now he is sitting up almost unaided he can keep himself amused for quite some time. I took loads of photos and put some into a collage.
I thought they were lovely photos of Roman and I didn`t know which to choose, so I put eight of them together. These collages make great screensavers and desktop images. Jim also took the one below of Jake sitting on my lap...He hates to be left out and as Roman was sitting on Jim`s lap, what else could he do...lol?
I`m sure he thinks he`s a baby too, bless him! Later this afternoon I got a phone call from the local newspaper where I applied for the job. They liked my CV and wanted to interview me on Monday, my heart was racing and just before putting the phone down I asked about the hours to be worked. My heart sank when the lady told me it was all day Mon-Weds and Thurs and Fri are free. I can`t do it because of Roman so I explained and the lady wrote on my CV what hours I would like and she said if they have a vacancy in the future she`ll call me immediately. I feel really deflated at the moment because I really wanted that job and I knew that my age didn`t go against me. At least I know that they liked my CV, who knows, if they can`t get someone for the hours they hope for they might review the vacancy, perhaps with a couple of people to job share.
Anyway, I`d love to stay and chat but I have 179 emails and alerts so I must dash off. I hope you all have a lovely evening. Take care and Bye Bye for now.

What a shame about the job but who knows, they may find something for you as they seemed to like you!! I always try to take on more mature people when I interview, they don't phone in sick so much after partying all night like the young ones!! I love the collage of Roman, he's such a sweet looking boy. Jake has got the most beautiful glossy coat; dogs and cats do think they're babies and demand attention all their lives!! The photos of Roman are so sweet. He is growing so fast. LOL about Jake and the glove, it might be one of Jim's that he might have dropped. I love the pose Jake has. Maybe they will change their mind about the hours on the job and give you a chance. Helen
