Hello everyone,
I`m late again, I decided to read journals before doing my own entry. I had cleared them all but there have been more alerts while I had my tea, I`ll read them when I`m finished here. Yesterday was a busy day for me. I decided to do some early Spring cleaning in the living room, it`s a major operation moving the leather settee and chairs, they are so heavy that I don`t do it too often for fear of hurting my back. Luckily, I got away unharmed yesterday and I now have a squeaky-clean living room without a speck of dust anywhere, well hardly any...lol!
Jim has hurt his back but is soldiering on bravely. I managed to stop him doing any more decorating but I told him to be careful at work when lifting. He doesn`t usually suffer from back problems but when he does he really knows about it. In the afternoon I was putting the crokery away after unloading the dishwasher, while putting some glasses back in the cupboard I knocked one over. That hit another and they fell out of the cupboard knocking over several cups, they all hit the floor with a mighty crash and glass and china were everywhere! It took me over an hour to clear it all up and make sure that there was absolutely no shards of glass anywhere. I didn`t do too badly as I only had a small piece of glass in my finger and that came out easily. I was furious with myself for letting it happen though, when I`d finished the clearing up and went upstairs and cried my eyes out, something I never do. I think it must have been shock......what if Roman had been in there? What indeed, if anyone else had been there? Thankfully nobody else was there to get hurt but even so.......
This morning Slava brought over some of the smaller items of Danny`s furniture. When he moves it will be to a smaller place and he won`t have the room for it all. Jim put all of it in our loft until he needs it back again. He even managed to put his table and chairs up there, how he managed that I don`t know but he did. Of course, Danny wasn`t there to help them, Oh no, he said he had to be somewhere (how like my son!) and didn`t have time to help. I`d bet money that it was something to do with his girlfriend, I asked Slava and he was rather vague about it all...hmm, he knows all right. I`ll find out in the end, I always do, nothing about Danny gets past me...lol!
I walked Jake a long way this afternoon in the hope that I`d get warmer on the way round (?). Well, I didn`t, I got colder which wasn`t helped by the fact that I bumped into a very chatty friend that I haven`t seen in a while. We must have been talking for over 30 mins when I looked down at Jake who was lying down, out of boredom I expect! By the time I got home I was freezing, my legs felt numb from the cold wind and I was glad to get a hot cup of coffee down me. AS for Jake he got in his bed and fell asleep, talk about an easy life!
Anyway, I`ll say goodbye now. I hope you`ve all had a good weekend and not broken any china or glasses! Take care.
To an Early Daffodil
Thou yellow trumpeter of laggard Spring!
Thou herald of rich Summer's myriad flowers!
The climbing sun with new recovered powers
Does warm thee into being, through the ring
Of rich, brown earth he woos thee, makes thee fling
Thy green shoots up, inheriting the dowers
Of bending sky and sudden, sweeping showers,
Till ripe and blossoming thou art a thing
To make all nature glad, thou art so gay;
To fill the lonely with a joy untold;
Nodding at every gust of wind to-day,
To-morrow jewelled with raindrops. Always bold
To stand erect, full in the dazzling play
Of April's sun, for thou hast caught his gold.

Oh i hope so much you dont get a cold from being outside and getting so cold!!! I understand sitting down and crying after the glasses falling all over. Its scary and i have done the same thing. I hope Jims back feels better.
HUGS, lisa
So sorry about all your dishes this is the thing with hard floors nowadays no second chance, with a wooded floor you sometimes got away with it. Love Joan.
Tip for clearing up teensy shards of glass or china from a none carpeted floor...get some damp cotton wool and go over the area with that after cleaning up the worst of it...works a treat and i've had to do that many times in my kitchen when i've broken stuff...Love the butterfly graphic Caff xxx
Well done with the Spring cleaning - glad you managed it without hurting yourself...
Poor Jim hope his back gets better soon...
Sandra how awful to knock over and smash all that glass and china
No wonder you had a good cry....It must have been a shock and the worry of clearing up every shard up...hope the finger wasn't too badly cut...Laughed at Jake being bored ...Take care Ally

Sorry about the breakages Sandra, glad you did not cut yourself badly. I can understand you crying over it, you are probably right - shock. Mike said it was cold when he went out. Oh, sorry, you are no longer in the lead but nobody has guessed them all correctly yet. See you have gone for that lovely new name graphic, so have I lol.

What is it with sons that they think they can pull a fast one where Mum is concerned, I know my son bettter than he know himself and he can never get away with it!!! Bet you get to the bottom of it....Mums always do! Love the fruit by the way!
Love the spring time graphics today. Sorry you broke all those dishes but glad no one got hurt except your finger. Sorry about Jim's back. It's a shame your son played hookey so Jim had to do it. Hope His back soon gets better and hope you haven't caught a cold from getting so cold today. Helen
Maybe it would help if I broke some~ I have too much and not all pretty either... think its time to clear out some to make room in my cupboards.... thanks for putting that in my mind.... hope none of the broken things was your favorite though.... have a nice evening, Sandra
I had put a glass bowl on the hot plate this morning to heat water and when I got home it had shattered everywhere. I was able to look on the bottom piece which read: "not for stove top or broiler". Live and learn. It is raining and cold here today, and Salty stays in the house now when I am gone and is a perfect dog. My back has been in a strain and I had to stop lifting my dumbbells as I think it causes the lump in my shoulder to leak fluid which makes me feel sick. A deeper one found on MRI in 2004 burst and gave me the same sick feeling. I am scheduled to have it removed on Feb. 2. I had one removed before and it is a lypoma which the doctor showed me and it is a mass inside of a sack. He got the root so that one did not come back. This time it has to be done by a surgeon and she said that she will have to dig around some so I will be given sedation. I may have to keep Salty on the chain in the barn depending on how long I will be gone for. mark
What a day you had! Moving things around at my house is just as crazy!

Spring cleaning in January, Sandra? I can see you really want to rush the season to your favorite time of year, but by the time Spring actually rolls around, it'll be all dusty again!
Cleaning up broken glass is a nasty job and you're always afraid you didn't quite get it all. The suggestion below of using dampened cotton to get all the tiny bits is a good one. But I think you subconsciously just wanted some new "crockery."
Don't you always meet up with talkative people when it's cold?!! I've been spring cleaning my wardrobes today, you wouldn't believe how many clothes I've chucked out , or how many I have left!! Glass is nasty stuff to clear up, even when you're so careful you're always sure to cut yourself. Jeannette xxxx
Just one of those things Sandra, the broken crockery and glasses. Being upset by the shock is totally something that I would do too, so I can understand that.
Hope your finger feels better soon ;o)
Sara x
Sorry to hear of the 'Breakages' and hope your finger is OK!
Seems it was cold everywhere Sunday, didn't venture out at all
Love the 'Rosy' signature

I am glad you did not hurt your back. Jim is in my prayers that his back heals fast...not to happen again! Glass in the finger can hurt...I know. A paper cut too is not a good feeling. Sounds like it won't be long before Danny moves. That was nice of Slava to come over and bring those pieces of small furniture. I bet Danny's girlfriend too, had something to do with his not helping...Mom's know! It is cold and raining here today. Hope all goes well for your Monday!
Hugs and love,
Joyce
Awwwww Sandra you poor thing :-( At least Jake wasn't around and you only got a small piece in yourself - well that's not good but you know what I mean??!! Your very kind to store Danny's furniture.
