Hello Everybody,
Welcome to a Tuesday that is a marked contrast to yesterday. Today was fine and sunny, though I thought we were going to have more rain this morning, we ended up with a really nice day.
First thing this morning after Jim took Jake out for a run, he decided to groom him. At the moment Jake is moulting like crazy, his fur is falling out all over the place, so much so that you`d think he`d soon be bald.....why doesn`t that ever happen with dogs, I wonder ? Anyway, Jim brushed him down, and he kept on brushing until he couldn`t get any more fur out of him, then like the angel he is, he vacuumed the stairs for me (Jim, not Jake of course!). I think I could make a spare coat for Jake with all that fur, well at least I could stuff a pillow! From tomorrow I`m collecting it for the bird`s nesting boxes next spring. I suppose I should be grateful that Jake`s black and not yellow like old Hannah was, she would moult all year round, unlike Jake who only moults twice yearly, and we were always covered in her fur, which was never much fun when wearing black trousers for instance.
This afternoon we went to visit Jim`s mum, with Kerry and Roman in tow. My mum in law wasn`t in a very responsive mood so we didn`t take any photos of them together, what did happen was Roman, who was sitting on his Grandad`s knee, kept looking and smiling at his Great-Grandma. Kerry and I felt really moved and we both had tears in our eyes just watching him. It was almost as if they made a connection, these two relatives , both at the extreme beginning and end of their lives. It was a very intense moment.
Our blue-eyed boy!
We are still getting fireworks going off, well we were up till last night, so far this evening it has been quiet, but I`m afraid to speak too soon. I`m just hoping that the people who buy them will have run out of money by now! Some friends of ours with young children, bought a box of fireworks for children. They are not noisy, just very pretty, so the children and their parents had anice peaceful and safe bonfire night without being terrified by the bangs
.
Roman smiling at his Great-Gran.
I want to thank everyone who left read and left comments on my Niagara entries. I really wanted others to experience some of what I experienced there and I think I succeeded a little. Niagara wasthe most thrilling experience and if I am never lucky enough to travel abroad again, I have my memories which are mine forever. I felt privileged just being there and seeing nature at it`s most beautiful and deadly at the same time.
Just been fed.
Tomorrow Kerry and I are going clothes shopping, we both need something nice to wear to my BIL`s 60th birthday party on Saturday night. I was going to go alone but this way I can look after Roman while Kerry is in the changing rooms. It`s going to be a LONG day, I just know it, I`ll make a note to wear comfy shoes!
Kerry is, at the moment, getting the flat ready for the arrival on Thursday of her in-laws from St.Petersburg, Russia. Slava is going to collect them from heathrow airport at 8pm. It must be quite scary for them as they don`t speak any English and they have to find their way through the airport system. Also I hope they don`t get asked any questions at customs, hopefully that won`t happen and they will get straight through but it will be a worry until they are safely here.
Anyway, that`s all from me tonight, I hope you`ve all had a good day and have a nice relaxing evening, and for my American friends, enjoy the rest of your day! AND for those of you who are not feeling too well at the moment, I wish you a speedy recovery. Bye Bye for now.

Roman is such a handsome little boy. I love the one where he is smiling at g-grandma. Hope you can get a good picture of them together soon. I know Jim would cherish that. I can see he has Jim's blue eyes.
Good picture of Roman and Kerry also. She has your beautiful smile.

Have a good night. Helen
Did she respond to the baby? your Mum in law ,even though she may be" lost " I bet she loved him and gave some indication, its both beautiful and sad isnt it, to watch, I can remember one dear old lady I looked after, she totaly changed when her twin greatgrandsons were brought in to see her ,isnt he gorgeous, those eyes are so blue ,hes going to break some hearts ..........Jan xx
Oh, just look at those enormous blue eyes. Roman is going to be a heart-breaker that is for sure. Well, we had fireworks again tonight. Not as bad and not as many but we still had them just as the boys were going out for their walk so both refused to go! Why is it that dogs moult in the winter????? Our two always do and our old Bonnie used to moult every year just in time for Christmas, as she was mainly white, it was a nightmare, perhaps she tried to give us snow.
How exciting to be meeting Slava's parents and how wonderful they will see their grandson. Hope they have a wonderful visit. Hope you post some pictures.

The photos are adorable, I love Romans' big blue eyes!! It's odd but people can communicate without words, sad that Jims mum can't understand much now, I bet she'd spoil Roman rotten if she was OK!! Jeannette. http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels
LOVED the Niagra pics! So sorry I didn't comment there...I tried several times and kept getting, "Sorry AOL..."...I finally gave up. What an incredible picture of Roman! Isn't it intriguing how connections happen? My youngest was the same way with Capn's aunt who died from a complication from Altzheimers. She was "gone"...but any time I took my youngest, she would make direct eye contact...and you could literally see her change. She could no longer speak, but you could just see her eyes change as she "conversed" with my little one. I hope Kerry isn't too terribly nervous about the visit. ;) C. http://journals.aol.com/gdireneoe/thedailies
Nice pics :o) I love the artificial intelligence quote <ggg> i swear the fireworks get louder every year and they just look the same in the sky!!!! Caff xx
That baby is so beautiful. He has the sweetest little face. I bet you just love to kiss his soft little cheekies !
I am a day behind, sorry. I see you had a nice day...that was good...we are having a day of rain here...and a few thunderstorms thrown in...
So nice of Jim to groom Jake...it always amazes me too, the dogs do not go bald too...LOL. Little Roman looks so CUTE...love those beautiful eyes...also grandpa and the one of him and his Mum are adorable. Hope all goes well with Slava's parents visit...can't wait to hear all about it. You enjoy your Wednesday...hugs,
Joyce
What a precious family you have :)
Kara
I am telling you, Roman is BEAUTIFUL. SO SO SO SO CUTE! Look at that expression.....such a doll. I almost teared up myself reading about him connecting with his greatgrandma. My son, 13, was never able to meet my precious grandma Jessie. Hurts. So, i am so happy Roman gets to meet his. I hope you and Kerry had a grand time shopping! Raining and so windy in Ohio.
Love, lj
Sandra, that pic of Roman is just beautiful!!
Look at those big blue eyes, and those chubby cheeks, I do love baby's chubby cheeks :o) :o) :o) You'll have me all broody!
Interesting about the quiet fireworks that your friends had, I will be looking for some of those for J. Hope the shopping trip went well today, and that Slava's parents have a safe trip tomorrow, and no hassles from customs.

Hi Sandra,
Haven't been around in along time, so sorry. Roman looks so handsome. He will certainly charm the ladies one day. ;) Looked all through your journal and seen all the beautiful pics of the Falls, oh and your hair color change. How come you changed colors? I will try and read more often, just so busy with work and I've been sick. How are you doing dear?
Love...your friend....SHARON :)
