ANOTHER ENTRY COMPLETED....WOW!

Jims robin

Hello everyone,

I`m back again via Internet Explorer....boo to AOL for not fixing the journals yet.  Some people can`t even get to them at all, let alone through IE.  Anyway, moving swiftly on, the above photo was taken by Jim when he was fishing but I forgot to post it yesterday.  Whenever he fishes that lake a robin always comes along and sits beside him, trying to pinch whatever bait he is using.  At the moment he is using luncheon meat and it is very popular with the birds as well as with the fish...lol!

He took some more photos, early yesterday morning while out with Jake in the back field.  It was very frosty and it made everything look really pretty.

The back field in the morning

Cold and frosty

Today didn`t start to well for Jim this morning a screw fell out of his glasses, then after fixing them temporarily with tape, took Jake out for a run and returned to find he had lost the back door key.  I won`t say what he said but suffice it to say he wasn`t very pleased!  After retracing his steps he found the key on the path at the bottom of the road, before dashing into town to the optician`s to have his glasses repaired.

As for me I had a lazy morning before going to Windsor with Kerry and the in-laws.  Being a freezing cold day I wrapped up really warm but still I was cold, this sudden drop in temperature is a bit of a shock to the system!  We trawled around the over-priced souvenir shops with Nadja,  Ivan stayed outside, bored rigid, looking after Roman.  Nadja bought some of the touristy stuff that the locals, myself and Kerry included, wouldn`t touch with bargepoles...!  We made sure she didn`t get anything we thought was vastly overpriced, and there was a lot of stuff like that.  She wanted to get rid of her change as there is no chance of getting ANY money changed in Russia, only if you are a tourist, and then you can`t take any Russian currency out of the country, just as Russians can`t take any foriegn currency IN.

I bought Roman a pair of mittens that we put on him straight away as his hands are always cold, regardless of the weather.  Kerry says that the winter coat he is wearing is getting too small for him already, I`d better have a word with Jim.....lol.  He is wearing 6-9month old clothes now and he is only 4 months.  Considering he was only 7lbs. 12 at birth he has certainly made up for it since, though it might be something to do with being on solid foods now, and does he love his food, bless him!

When we were walking in Windsor, Nadja kept stopping us to take photos.....Have you ever tried posing and smiling outside macDonald`s?  Nor had I until today, then it was outside Windsor Station, where there are cafes and designer shops, a pretty place but not where you would want to take photos.  Kerry told me she had to do it all day yesterday so today it`s my turn...lol!  We then walked along the river, where it felt even colder, the sun was going down and we just wanted to go home but we had to entertain the guests and let them see all the Queen`s swans being fed, they were fascinated by them too...Oh well, I suppose it`s not as though they see them everyday and they are enjoying their last couple of days here.  They leave on Sunday morning and Jim and I will say our goodbyes tomorrow morning before he goes to work.  Kerry knows Nadja in particular, will get very upset to leave Slava and Little Man.  It must be so hard for her but that`s the way things have to be, they can`t live in two countries and I know Kerry wouldn`t bring Roman up in Russia as she only wants the best for him,  for which Jim and I are very thankful I can tell you!

I must get on and read some journals.  I haven`t even started them yet and I hope I have time to read them all.  Have a lovely restful weekend and take care all of you.

Hi Sandra, it is puzzling cos I am managing to save entries fine; have you tried as normal since you had problems? Sounds like you have had a busy time with Slava's parents but sounds like it has been fun!

I can save entries fine as long as I use the sign in thingy, seems we are all having different problems!  Yes, it was very cold the last couple of days but at least it should kill off some of the germs.  Glad that Slava's parents have had such a good time. I can imagine how sad she will be to leave her little Grandson behind, it would break my heart.  Hopefully she will be able to come over another time and at least they have seen him.  My mother only met her Grandchildren in Australia a couple of times when they were very young.  Beautiful picture of the Robin, they are my very favourite bird but we rarely see them here and I just do not know why.

I think the Robin is my favourite bird, and Jim has taken such a lovely picture of him.....Glad to say Sandra I'm back on line  and Journals seem OK...perhaps aol are getting it sorted slowly but surley.....The leaves covered in frost is really great - reminds us winter is really here..if Jim finds that screw to his glasses he wants to put a little super glue on it and screw it back - I used to have that trouble until i did just that...Roman will need those mittens you bought him now as it is getting cold..You will be sad to say goodbye Russia is such a long way off - bet they will be upset at having to leave Roman....have a lovely weekened...Ally

Very nice photos...so sorry Jim had such a rough morning..sounds like some I have had lately myself...lost a few keys in the last days myself...Husband wants me to wear them around my neck, so I won't lose them again...LOL.  Sounds like a nice day of photos...and no, not many have I had at McDonalds, but I guess photos are photos...and sound like Nadja just likes to photo graph you and the family...
Cold here too...ironically I went out today and bought Little Guy mittens too..larger of course...LOL.  I bet Little Man looks as cute as can be in his winter gear.  Yes, I agree with you...has to be rough on Slava's parents to leave Roman and Slava, but you are right...they are best to live right there near you and in the UK.  Hope they go home happy and I am sure loaded with photos.  Do they use the computer?? You and Kerry could send photos by email if they do.
Hugs..you have a wonderful weekend.

Beautiful pictures and it is nice of Jim to share food with the birds. I feed them all the time here. I know Slava hates to see his parents go as much as they hate to go. Roman is really growing. Helen

The full moon was just wonderful.  At 4:30pm the other day it was shinning here in Washington, just like the sun was on it.  It was breath taking.

Aww, I love the little Robin guy, he is a handsome fella isn't he - don't know why I assume it's a he though, lol - very pretty, just in case it's a lady Robin ;o)
So, Nadja and Ivan were heading back today then, I'm sure they had a fantastic time here with you all.  I do feel for them, having to say goodbye, but as you say, it can't be helped.
