Roman and Mum and Dad
Hello everyone,
I hope you are all well, I`ve been very busy this weekend so I decided rather than post a rushed entry I`d leave it until I had a bit more time. We didn`t go to the cinema as planned yesterday so Harry Potter will have to wait. We just couldn`t be bothered as we were both really tired, Jim because he is on early shift and this week he is up at 4am, and me because I decided to give the house an extra spruce up with Christmas around the corner, so I was cleaning, dusting and polishing etc. for over five hours on Saturday. For me, that is a marathon and I was worn out at the end of it all, so I made do with watching "Strictly Come Dancing" and "I`m a Celebrity" on the TV.
Tonight though, we are looking after Roman whilst Kerry and Slava go to the cinema, they are going to see "Flight Plan" with Jodie Foster, I must admit it does sound a good film and I hear it was a big hit in America.
We are having a few problems with Jake at the moment. He has started chewing and has been gnawing at the wall where he sleeps at the bottom of the stairs, so Jim has fitted a stair gate and last night Jake was relegated to the hallway, where early this morning I was woken by a crunching noise. I crept downstairs to find the bone-headed mutt chewing away at the bookcase....I was furious and told him in no uncertain terms that he will be for the dogs home if he carries on like that....lol! Knowing that he has an aversion to anything metal I found the ultimate deterrent, my chrome kitchen step, a small single step that I use to reach my kitchen cupboards. I placed it in front on the corner of the bookcase and he slunk back to his bed and was asleep in no time. Tomorrow I will be going to Pets At Home to by some of that bitter spray to deter chewing. I don`t know why he has started behaving like this, Jim thinks it might be the presence of Roman but I don`t think it is, he is always having a fuss made of him still, we made a point of not leaving him out when Kerry brings him over.
Anyway, must rush as they will be here soon, take care and I hope you`ve all had a lovely weekend.

Sandra, get himself something of his own to chew on, you can get really tough cowhide bones that last for yonks and yonks. This you have to nip in the bud. I am sure if you give hims something he can tire his jaws out with it will help. Hope they enjoy the film. I heard it discussed on the radio yesterday and they totally panned it, said it was dreadful and went nowhere in particular, but then you know what critics are like! Lovely family picture, one for a frame I am sure. Yes, did the same, Come Dancing and Celebrity. Going to miss Celeb each night when it finishes.

Such a lovely family....Naughty Jake - Chewing the bookcase oh Sandra hope you find a way of making him stop....I know Barney used to chew things when he was a pup - but with all his faults he grew out of that one....Take care and have a lovely week....Ally
What a lovely picture of the little family, and isnt Roman growing up? he changes with each picture you post ,I think Jeannettes suggestion is a good one get him some thing really tough he can chew on,it is a worry though ..............Jan xx

I know what you mean about cleaning and being too tired to go to a movie...been there, done that. I do hope you and Jim get to go soon. So sweet you are watching Roman for Kerry and Slava.
As for Jake..he amazes me at all he can get into...trouble that is...LOL. I know it is not funny, but I can just see you snapping at him to leave the bookcase alone. Hope the bitters work...funny, my dogs when they were in the chewing stage...loved the bitters...LOL...I had a mess on my hands...let me tell you. Jake is one big puppy!!! Hugs and enjoy your little bundle tonight...

Roman is such a cute little fella!! I hope you can find a way to stop Jake chewing, odd how he's suddenly started but not fun for you. Furniture costs money. Flight Plan was brilliant, saw it tonight. Had a very tense ending too. Hope Kerry and Slava enjoyed it. Jeannette.

How strange. None of our dogs has ever chewed anything. Well Rusty once "dug" a 3 foot hole in the carpet. But that's another story!

Hope Roman behaved for you unlike Jake :-( Why not buy him some chew bones or something and perhaps that would stop him from gnawing the furniture!! How bizarre I don't think I've heard that before!!
