Hello everyone,
Welcome to a damp and dismal Wednesday eveing.. The above photo of Jim with his fishing pal Steve. As you can see they were well wrapped up against the elements but that didn`t stop them from feeling really cold. They only caught a couple of tiny fish, but they still enjoyed their day by the lake.
This morning Jim told me that the newsagents round the corner to us was robbed yesterday morning. The manageress wasn`t working today as she is in a state of shock. She wasn`t hurt in the incident but was really terrified, her husband told Jim. This is the second time in a couple of years that this has happened, each time it was 6am when the shop had just opened and the only money there was the early morning float, so they didn`t get away with much. The most important thing was nobody was hurt, though one of them SAID he had a gun. We`re not used to this sort of thing happening around here, it`s very scary, to say the least.
This afternoon I went with Kerry who had to take Roman for his injections. He only cried a bit and cheered up quickly afterwards. Then we took him to be weighed and was surprised to be told he is now 17lbs.2oz. I think it must be the solid food he`s having now, I keep telling Kerry not to keep giving him burgers for his tea....lol!
It seems to be getting much colder again. Despite the temperature going up a couple of degrees, the damp weather really chills me right through, and my joints are aching more too. Give me a nice, bright, frosty day anytime rather than this gloom.
Kerry says that Nadja and Ivan reached home safely. They were met at the airport by their SIL to-be and taken straight home where the family were there to welcome them. Nadja`s mother stay`s with them in the winter, leaving her home in the village where she has spent her entire life. The snow can get very deep out in the country and it`s better for her to be in the city with her family until May when she can return home to her little smallholding.
On Saturday night, Jim and I are going to see the new Harry Potter film, I`m looking forward to that as I haven`t been to the cinema for ages. I`m sure we`ll love the film, mind you, last year we went to see a film, I don`t remember which one and there was no heating in the cinema, so we decided against going. I couldn`t sit there freezing whilst paying for the pleasure!
Must go now, I haven`t read a single journal today and as you must know by now, I have to watch `I`m a Celebrity...` at 9pm. I hope you all have a lovely day/evening. Take care and Bye for now.

Great photo..............
Love the photo of the two fishing buddies all bundled up.
Very happy to read Slava's parents made it back home okay. Cold here too...may have a bit of snow tonight into tomorrow...not much...just flurries. Roman sounds like he is becoming a strong little man with taking his shots now, so well. I just told Jeannette that I was not sure if we get that Celebrity show, will have to check it out.
Hugs and thanks for the well wishes for our Thanksgiving celebrations here.

Great photo of Jim and his friend. Yes, they certainly do put on weight once they start solids. In no time at all he will be sitting up alone, it is wonderful to watch them develop. Glad Slava's family are safely home and glad that the mother stays for the winter, it would be awful for her on her smallholding in those Russian winters. As for robberies, we have a little parade of shops just around the corner from us. The supermarket and the off licence have been broken into countless times probably because it is very quiet there. Awful, but we have got used to it, not been so bad this last couple of years.

Great photo. Tell Jim that I have a fishing cap just like his. We used to fish in cold weather but not anymore. But it is cold running up and down the river in a boat even when the weather is not all that cold. But come Feburary and some warm days we will be out there if we are able. Glad Slava's Parents got home safely. Roman is getting to be such a big boy. Helen
How fun to go and spend the day fishing! I bet they had a real nice time. You will love the Harry Potter movie. it is great :)

Ah..men and their fishing...it's a wonderful thing!
We do live in scary times, don't we Sandra? Is it getting worse, or are we just more sensitive to these events now.
Oh, its getting very cold over here as well. Winter will soon arrive.

Jim and his friend look sooo cold, lol, I really would like a hat like that to wear when I pick J up from school lately, but it would mess with my hair ;o)
My Great Uncle has told me stories about his childhood in Russia, and what the winters were like, I don't blame Nadja for spending a few months away!!
Hope you enjoy Harry Potter.

Lol at Jim and friend in their cosy hats. . does look cold .
they sure look bundled up and happy as clams!!!! terrific picture!
I hope you'll post about the new Harry Potter movie. I'm curious about it. They don't think it is appropriate for kids. Looking forward to hearing your opinion.
love, anna
Jim looks like he is enjoying his fishing advocacy with his fellow fisherman. He is certainly not timid about extreme weather. Your grandson is healthy and growing with a good appetite. Have a good weekend. mark
Men are crazy to go outin the cold to fish! LOL But they may think we are crazy to go out in the cold to shop! I hope you enjoy your movie tonight!! Give us a movie review and get some hot buttery popcorn!! Luv, lj
I'm glad Jims still enjoying his fishing although I think he's mad to go in this weather!! Still a flask of hot tea should help ;-) Glad Nadja and Ivan got home ok. Hope you enjoyed the film.
