Hello everyone,
Please excuse me if it takes a long time to type this out as every few seconds I`m having to dive under my desk to escape the barrage of whizzes ,bangs, whistles and screams of the Dhiwali celebrations fireworks...lol! Because our neighbours on both sides of us are having parties in their gardens the noise is horrendous. On a not very funny note, Jake is cowering at the bottom of the stairs, his eyes wide with fear. It`ll be the same tomorrow with the festival of Eid, and again on Saturday with Guy Fawkes night. Grrrr!
Jake this morning before his daily run.
This morning I was at the hairdresser. I had decided that I`d been blonde for long enough and asked my stylist if she could change the colour. She did and Hallelujah! I love it...it is closer to light brown than blonde and I think it really suits me. Considering my natural colour is brown, albeit dark brown, it should too. I also needed a good cut, it`s the same style but looks much nicer, Kerry loved it and as she can be my harshest critic, I always value her opinion.
Kerry has a dreadful cold which she thinks she has caught from Roman. I told her that is one of the drawbacks of parenthood, catching all their ailments, it will be worse once he starts nursery I told her, "Thanks!" she said!
Jim said he will only be able to take Jake to Upton Park tomorrow and then not again for another week. The local authorities are building a huge bonfire there for the public firework display on Saturday. The whole thing is paid for by Slough Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce. There will also be a large fairground that will stay for a week. This event takes place every year and the fireworks are really beautiful. If I remember I posted an entry in my journal last year with the photos I took. It is always a good night out as long as you don`t mind crowds. We are not going this year as Jim is on late shift, instead I will be looking after Roman here while Kerry and Slava go to the cinema.
Tomorrow I will have a nice quiet day....Kerry is going out with a friend in the afternoon, Jim will be working so I can wrap the last of the presents and spend more time on the computer.
Upton Park very early this morning.
Jim went fishing all day yesterday and had quite a haul. He caught eight fish in the course of the day but there was nobody else there to take any photos, or so he tells me....I`ll just have to take his word for it....lol! He was home by 5.30pm because of the darker evenings but |I know he would have stayed longer if he could. I expect with the winter drawing in that his fishing days are numbered, he`s not one for sitting there freezing, and who would blame him!
Right, that`s it for today. I hope you all had a very nice day, take care.

What a shine on Jakes coat!!! He is such a lovely looking doggy! My hair is, I think, naturally a very dark brown....last time I saw the natural colour was about 15 years ago, LOL!
So sorry those dreadful fireworks keep disturbing you all...poor Jake, I bet he loves to go out for his runs. His coat is so shiny...love it. Also, can't wait to see your hair, I bet it looks great. I wonder what I would look like with my natural color.
Hope Kerry feels better...tell me about the cold thing!! I know how she feels. Hope you have a very nice day tomorrow.
Hugs,
Joyce

Jake is so pretty with his shiny coat. Poor thing to be so scared. Pretty picture today and a big hand to Mike on his fish catch. Hope Kerry soon feels better. A picture of you new hair color please. Helen
I hope Kerry feels better soon, it's awful looking after a young baby when you don't feel up to it though I'm sure she has a good mum who would help out!! Jeannettexxxx. http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels/
Poor Jake. His ears are so much more sensitive than ours, the noise probably actually hurts as well as frightens. But, my! He is such a beauty. How his coat gleams and glistens. You just know he lives with people who take reallygood care of him.
And what a beautiful landscape your Upton Park offers. Such serenity in the early morning light, in contrast to the noise of the night before.
I also hope we will have new pics of your hair makeover soon.
Jake is such a handsome fella Sandra, I'm sure I say that every time, but he is!! Love his shiny coat, and wish my hair would shine like that, lol ;o)
Your new hair cut sounds lovely, nothing like a change of colour and a good trim to make you feel good is there. Do we get to see a pic?
Hope Kerry and Roman feel better soon!

Poor Jake. I hate to see pets scared. They don't understand what is going on and you can't explain it to them. Give him some love for me!
I absolutely love your dog! His coat is the shiniest coat i have ever seen on a dog! Hugs, Vicky
Sounds like you all are well and happy despite Kerry's cold....
Jake looks so pretty in the picture....
Have a wonderful day...
Sonya
Awwwwwww poor Jake and the fireworks. Shame you can't go to the big do on Saturday but I'm sure Kerry and Slava will have a good time :-) Hope Jim manages to fit in some more fishing. Are we gonna see a pic of your new hair?
The Fireman graphic is neat. Jake is looking regal with his shiny well groomed coat. The final sentences of your entry are humourous and some have a grain of truth involved. Enjoyed them. mark
