WIDGETS,CARS AND LOBSTERS!

Hello everyone,

I`m back after a day without an entry.  I was quite happy with the great entries that I read yesterday.  Now I`m sitting here trying to remember what I was going to write about today!

Today Jim went fishing and he had a wonderful time.  He caught six carp weighing a total of 59lbs. The largest being fourteen and a half pounds. and that was without the monster that caught away.  Injuries sustained:......  wasp sting on right arm above wrist, and a `nearly` attack by large cygnet because he wasn`t happy with Jim for sitting there!  Photos to follow another day.

I`m having problems with my car.  I`ve had trouble starting her up lately and this morning she completely refused when Jim tried to start her at 6am.  At 8.30 I planned to go shopping so I got behind the wheel, said a little prayer and lo and behold she started first time.  She badly needs a service so it will be done on Tuesday morning, I don`t know what I`d do without my little Clio!

I had a doctors appointment this afternoon and she diagnosed my painful thumb joint as arthritis.  She says the joint is very inflammed and full of fluid and she has given me some anti-inflammatory cream to apply 3 times daily until the swelling subsides. From then on I can use it if and when I need to.  It`s been so painful of late that I`ve started to write holding the pen a different way.  My writing has become terrible so I`ve had to try this way just so I can write out Christmas cards that people can read.

Kerry has the start of a cold and she says that Roman has a slight cough and has been sneezing too.  She`s not too worried because he`s not off his food and seems fine in himself.  He`s such a happy boy lately, this new food has certainly been good for him.  He really laughs now when you talk to him, today I looked into his infant carrier, he gave me this big gummy smile and made this cute cooing sound.  It brought a lump to my throat when I realised that he recognises me, he really does!

My gorgeous boy!

Tonight and 9pm I`m going to watch the second part of Elizabeth I, the first installment was excellent and I`m really looking forward to this, the concluding part.  I wish we had more dramas of this standard, hopefully there will be more for us to watch during the winter months.  Tomorrow Jim and I are going to visit his Mum, then on to see his sister.  I do hope that I`ll get near the computer sometime tomorrow, but most likely it won`t be until late afternoon.

I might download this widget thingy that I`m hearing all about.  I have the site but I`ll need to find out more about it first.  Any information from you would be helpful please....!

For now my friends, I will leave you with more apparently, `true` storIes.  Have a lovely day/evening and please take care.

"  When two service staion attendents in Ionia, Michigan, refused to hand over the cash to an intoxicated robber, the man threatened to call the police.  The attendants still wouldn`t give him the money, so the robber called the police, waited for them to arrive ----- and was arrested. "

" A man walked into a store in Lousiana, put a $20 bill on the counter and asked for change. When the clerk opened the cash drawer the man pulled agun and asked for all the cash in the till.  The clerk handed over the cash and the man fled, leaving his &20 bill on the counter.  The money he took from the till totalled $15!  "

" A 24 year old supermarket shoplifter from Los Angeles stuffed a live lobster in his pants and ran for the door, but he never had a chance.  The violated crustacean brought the thief to his knees in front of startled cashiers when it fastened its powerful claws around his most delicate parts.  Doctors were able to remove the creature with pliers and they said the thief would fully recover ----- except for one small detail:  "It was a do-it-yourself vasectomy."  The supermarket manager declined to press charges, saying that the culprit had already suffered enough pain to learn his lesson.  "

Sorry to hear about the wasp sting and the arthritic thumb.  I suffer with one as well but they do go, with cream and not overusing them.  I downloaded the widget thing but got rid of it. I was not keen.  I have enough things on my screen without things popping up all over.  Yes, there is a clock, I already have a clock, there is the weather but it is American.  I am not really a gadgety person.  Yes, Roman will recognise you by now, bless him, they develop so quickly.  That is the really first precious moment when their eyes can focus and they can smile.  I am going to watch Elizabeth as well.  I think Helen Mirren is superb, outshining Glenda Jackson and I do agree that we should have many more quality programmes on t.v. and not all this reality nonsense.

Roman has such a sweet look on his face. I know you are tickled that he recognizes you. Has Jim figured out a way to eat those carp? We know a family that bleeds them and then takes a strip off each side of the backbone and they say that is delicious. I haven't tried it myself. Ouch! on the wasp sting. Hope your thumb and joint soon gets better.  Hope kerry and Roman's cold soon goes away.
Have a good visit with Jim's people tomorrow. Loved the graphics and the jokes. Helen

lift the bonnet and spray with WD40 on all electrical parts, on the mornings. leave for 5 - 10 mins. It's the damp and humidity that cause these probs.
Hope this helps, has worked wonders over the years for us.

Oh, Sandra....those joke are so funny!!!  I bet Julie went nuts when she saw your cow.  She's a black & white cow freak!! That's because when she was little and mom was babysitting her while I worked...she used to wander around in their pasture, talking to the cows (all holsteins) and she'd sit down and lean against them if they were laying down chewing their cud.  They never hurt her and she was never afraid of them.  I understand the feeling when Roman gave you a smile.  I still remember those times when my grandkids were little and they recognized me.   Now that they are teenagers, it's just..."oh it's just grandma."  :)

LOL!   The jokes are great.  I've been a bit behind as well, but seem to be enjoying a bit of a recharge lately.  Love Roman's outfit, so sweet for the baby.  And love the new pic of you.  Very nice.  Have a great weekend.

There are so many colds doing the rounds at the moment - hope Kerry and Roman's don't turn out to bad...arthritis can be very painful, hope the treatment works....Laughed at your true stories - we had a locked cycle shed at work, which someone broke into and stole the best  cycle in there..when the police arrived to inspect it, they found the thief had dropped his dole card with his name and address on it, so David got his cycle back...Ally

A bit late but I comment!!  Love the pic :-)  If you can't write why not type up names and stick them into the cards - or better still get Jim to write them ;-)  Hope you've got the car sorted!!
