A WET WEDNESDAY AND THANKYOU!

Hello everyone,

Welcome to a wet and windy day here in England.  First of all I want to thank all of you for your kind comments on yersterdays Tadoussac entry.  I was looking forward to posting it as it was, for my mind anyway, the most interesting adventure we had, and it WAS an adventure. There was so much more I could have written but there has to be a limit.  One or two of the comments reflected what Jim and I thought at the time, Jen said the hotel looked like the one in the film The Shining, we said yes, it really did.  Jeannette said the it was like the film The Fog, again it was, especially with the graveyard and the single bell on the chapel roof.  The chapel was looking out across the St. Lawrence seaway, just like in the film, it was all quite spooky but an unforgettable experience.

I had lots of really nice autumn photos, already to post here but they were all wiped out when Jim deleted the camera. I had downloaded the and renamed them so I don`t know how I lost them.  I must admit I wasn`t at all pleased as I had some excellent photos of funghi that Jim had taken from ground level.  The good thing though with digital photos is that I can retake them. I do like this camera as it has more settings than the old one and I`m still getting used to them all.  I even have a setting for photos of flowers, though what the difference is I haven`t the faintest idea.  I just follow the directions the camera gives me...lol!

This afternoon I went along with Kerry and and Roman to the baby clinic.  Roman now weighs in at 14lbs.14ozs. and the Health Visitor there says he needs a corset to hold his tummy in!  They are very happy with his weight gain and his progress and the fact that he is now sleeping up to 8 hours at night.  Today Little Man found that he can put his thumb in his mouth, along with his forefinger. He spent over half an hour doing this while Kerry and I had coffee and cake at the garden centre cafe.  It`s so nice that he is starting to keep himself amused with the this new discovery.

Jim has just informed me that football is on TV tonight, hmm ....  not for me it isn`t so I expect I`ll be on here till later than usual tonight, though I`m sure I `ll hear him shouting at the players from the comfort of his armchair...   lol!  I`m off to read my emails and journals now but have a very nice day all of you, take care and I hope the weather is better where you are!

THE WEDDING MONTH

Marry in May, and you`ll rue the day.

Marry in Lent, you`ll live to repent.

Married when the year is new, he`ll be loving, kind and true,

When February birds do sing, cherish you and your wedding ring.

If you wed when March winds blow, joy and sorrow both you`ll know.

Marry in April if you can, thus joy for Maiden and for Man.

Marry in the month of May, and you will never rue the day.

Marry when June roses grow, over hills and far you`ll go.

Those who in July do wed, must labour hard for daily bread.

Whoever wed in August be, many a fortune is sure to see.

Marry in September`s shrine, your living will be rich and fine.

If in October you do marry, love will come but riches tarry.

If you wed in bleak November, only joys will come, remember.

When December snows fall fast, marry and true love will last.

PS:  I married in September.......so much for the rich bit...lol!

Knew I picked the wrong month -July! Over 39 years too late to change that. I'm like you with my digital camera, don't understand the settings. Let you into a secret - take at least 6 photo's of each subject.....that way you ensure 1 good one.
Take care.

Roman is doing really well, great when they sleep through the night.  Pretty graphic. Shame about the photos but you are right that is the joy with digital cameras, you can go and take again and it saves all the scanning if you had prints. Have a good evening. Going to do any pumpkin carving? lololol xxxx

We finally got our rain for 3 days straight, but not complaining...just happy happy here.  I love your little graphics...the one with the rain is so nice.  Anna does great work!
I never let my husband touch our camera unless he is just taking photos...he would delete in a heartbeat all I have...and when he takes a photo, normally he is getting the worst view of me, hence...sometimes you only see him and not me!  LOL  So happy Little Man is developing normally and the weight is right on target it sounds.  Sleeping through the night is a major mile stone too...the fingers, bet he is going to be teething soon!  Hugs and see you soon!  Get some good rest...hope hubby enjoys the football game.

I married the first loser on Sweetest Day, in Oct. I married Rick in January. Doesnt always pay to marry on a holiday. Do you have Sweetest Day there? Its kind of a silly idea. So good to hear that Roman is doing so well!! Its not raining here...in fact, perfect weather for the last 3 days. Warm, slight wind and nice. Fog in the mornings. Thank you for your kind words in my journal. You are my good good friend. Love, lj
