Hello everyone,
Welcome to the remains of a beautiful warm, sunny day. It was over 70 degrees today, very warm considering it is nearly November.
This morning was shopping in Tesco so I was up and out early this morning. I managed to get all the shopping done in an hour, though I`m considering getting roller skates to get around this huge store....! On the way out I went into Krispy Kreme`s and bought two glazed cinnamon doughnuts, one each for me and Kerry. This is our treat for the week and we have a different flavour each time. I could eat them every day but the thought of how much weight I`d gain makes me stop at just the one!
Once home, I packed the weekly shop away and took Jake for a short walk then went to visit Kerry. She told me that Slava`s interview went well and they will let him know. He had to take a test where he had to translate some English into Russian and some Russian into English, luckily he passed that with flying colours. He really wants this job so fingers crossed again please.
Kerry and I spent a very pleasant hour walking Jake before coming home so that Jim could see Roman. I took some lovely photos of them both.
They look as though they are talking to each other in this one. I wonder what they could be saying?
What a cutie he is in this one!
Roman was watching an old war film on TV and I could not get him to look at me!
This evening Jim took Jake out for his evening stroll and had just got around thr corner when some idiot set off a huge firework. Jim told me Jake jumped in the air with fright and turned tail for home, just after that there was another explosion, then another. Jake was shaking like a leaf by the time they got home and when Jim had taken his collar and lead off, he ran into the living room and curled up next to the settee. Jim was livid and nearly went over to the men who where responsible and complained but he knew they wouldn`t have taken any notice. I suppose we`ll be hearing firework exploding for several weeks at least. Thankfully Jake is fine because he is still young and once safely indoors the noise doesn`t bother him, but they leave many other animals terrified. I know many pet owners who dread this time of year. Once upon a time there were fireworks just for one day, November 5th, Guy Fawkes Night, now it seems to go on forever.
Well that`s me finished for today. I still have all my journal alerts to read so I`d better get on with them now! I hope you all enjoy the rest of today, take care my friends.

The photographs are really lovely, they do look like they are having a conversation....Hope Slava get this job he would so much like Fingers crossed for him....We have had fireworks going off tonight and the dogs bark their heads off at the noise....Be glad when Nov 5th has gone....Poor Jake - stupid men...but they would not have listened to Jim....if they had any sense they wouldn't being letting fireworks off at all...Ally
Hope Slava gets the job. Yes, Jim & Roman do look like they are having a conversation. Some people don't care if they scare animals. Shame on them. Poor Jake. Glad he was ok once he got home. They keep that up and he won't want to go on his walk. Pretty grapics today and wonderful pictures. Thanks for sharing, Helen
Hi Sandra,
Sounds like a busy day...and I am keeping my fingers crossed for Slava to get that job. What lovely photos of a proud Grandpa with his grandson...so cute. I still can't get over how much Roman has grown. Poor Jake...I cannot stand fireworks...we have them here July 4th....and we have then go off days before and days after...so annoying and the dogs I have hate them too. What is the holiday or occasion that they are setting them off for there? They say our weather will be freezing tonight but in the 70's all next week...I can see so much sickness from these changes coming out all over our area. You have a wonderful uneventful evening...hugs galore to all,
Joyce
I love the photos of Roman especially the first one with him and Jim, that is a real treasure. Yes, I dread fireworks. I love to see the pretty ones but our two "boys" are absolutely terrified. Mike tried to take them out last night and the same thing happened, someone let some off and they both came running back to the house and refused to go out again. Unfortunately they are not o.k. when in the house, they shake and tremble and try to hide. We tried tranquilisers one year but now that fireworks go on for weeks, you cannot keep them dosed up all the time especially as we also have them at Christmas, New Year, birthdays, anniversaries etc. They should be banned from the pubic and only used in properly organised displays at appropriate times.

It's high time they made fireworks illegal. They're an absolute menace virtually all the year round these days - going off whenever, and wherever, gangs of yobs find themselves with nothing better to do! We really don't need to celebrate Guy Fawkes's execution any more - an event that was 400 years ago now! Hope you enjoyed the cinnamon doughnut - sounds utterly delicious!
David.
Your photo's are beautiful Sandra. As for fireworks - I dread them. Many years ago, when my collie was much younger and we had a little Jack Russell as well, our then neighbours (who've thankfully long gone) had a fireworks party. Hubby was rushed to hospital with a suspected heart attack and this the neighbours knew about. When I finally got back from the hospital at around 1am the next morning, my dogs were shivering, quaking, messes. They had been sick etc. everywhere. Found out why next morning; loads of spent fireworks in my backyard and another neighbour told me the "party" next door got out of hand, and they deliberately set out to scare my dogs. We lost the little Russell 3 years ago, but the collie is still terrified of loud bangs. Noisy Fireworks should be banned. Take care.

What were they chatting about it was very man to man stuff by the looks of things ,Lovely entry with which I heartliy agree, Jan xx
Those are wonderful photos!
great as always!
Have you seen the gromit mugs in tesco's? Great pics love the first one :-) My colleague keeps moaning on about fireworks night as she has two cats. Poor Jake with them letting them off like that!!
I love seeing pictures of the baby. His eyes are so beautiful. I hope Slava gets the job he wants so badly. Pennie
Ooh!! Krispy Kremes!! I went to the home of Krispy Kreme doughnuts in North carolina a couple of years ago where they gave us free samples. Didn't need lunch that day! I agree that fireworks are a menace, we have them set off here on the beach every saturday night. The council pays for them with our council tax, it really does annoy me. Luckily my two cats like to watch them pout of the window, they also like a good thunderstorm to watch too!! Roman is so cute bless him! Jeannette xxxx.
That first photo of Jim and Roman is one to treasure, they are both looking into each others eyes........Poor Jake and the fireworks.......Jean
If you get a chance, tell us dummies what Guy Fawkes Day is, ok? Roman is a chubby bunny!! So SO cute! You can tell he loves his papa and papa loves him too. Sorry those buttholes let off the fireworks. That has never happened with my beagles yet.Glad your weather was so nice. We had ice on our windows in Ohio today. Love, lisa jo
I know what you mean about the fireworks Sandra, how annoying it is when they are going off night after night, for weeks at this time of year. Poor Jake, my J isn't too keen on them either. Good luck to Slava!!!
