PHOTOS, FISH AND PHEWWWW!

Hello everyone,

I`m here at last after another day when I thought I`d not have time to post an entry.  I`ve just read the journals at breakneck speed, but only commenting on a handful I`m afraid.  I have a few replies to comments left on yesterday`s entry, here goes:

For Jan, the answer is "luncheon meat"

For Sara,  " I don`t think they do but you could always look in Matalan!"

For Lisa Jo, " No we don`t, we have to throw them back."

For Sylvia, "Thanks for tip but we`ve already tried it."

Now back to today...well yesterday actually.  Jim`s fish photos as promised.  He was disappointed with most of them because the unknown angler who took the photos had mud on his hands and that got on the camera lens.  These two are the mud-free ones!

The14 and a half pounder!

The cygnet who almost attacked him...well it DID hiss at him...lol!

This afternoon I washed Jim`s weighing net as the smell was appalling.  Despite the fact that he keeps it in the garage the smell was overpowering, so I brought it home and now it smells of fabric conditioner.  No wonder fish live in the water when they smell so terrible...phewww!

After lunch at the garden centre cafe, we walked around and looked at some plants.  I bought a big pot of wallflowers to put in a tub and a large bag of compost.  I still haven`t finished planting outside yet, so on Saturday or Sunday I`ll have to get outside and finish the job, including planting the narcissis bulbs that I`ve had for ages.

We went to see Jim`s mum today, it`s such a shame as she doesn`t recognise us at all now, but she talks to us and is usually pleased that someone is there.  We went on to visit his sister and had cups of tea and coffee cake and a long chat.  We talked a lot about our respective grandchildren, and the love we have for them.  I told her how much it meant to me when I realised that Roman recognised me, she told me that feeling never goes away regardless of their age.  She`s right...it will stay with me forever.

Last night I watched Elizabeth  on TV and it was a delight to watch Helen Mirren act her heart out in the title role.  I read an interview with her and she claimed to have played the role with the qualities of Margaret Thatcher, Saddam Hussein and Madonna .  That`s quite an unusual mixture...lol!  I hope she gets an award for the part because she certainly deserves it.

Still no luck on the job front for me.  I must go to and sign on at the Employment agencies a.s.a.p. as I really need a to earn some money for Christmas.  Anyone out there need some hired help ?....lol!  On Monday I will go into town and see what`s going for me.

I haven`t seen Roman since yesterday and I doubt I`ll see him until Monday now.  On Sunday he is going with Kerry and Slava to a birthday party in Rotherham.  They are only going for the day and it is a long drive there and back, at least three hours each way and they`ll share the driving, but I`ll worry about them going all that way in the car.

Update on Danny, he sent a cryptic message by text about his relationship.  I can only assume that he and his girlfriend have made up....again.  So I can relax for now. I`d love life to go smoothly for him, I really would.  But this is one thing he must sort out for himself.  I can only say that by the time he does my hair will be completely grey, or worse still, it will have fallen out!

Well, that`s all from me tonight.  I hope you have a lovely day followed by an equally lovely weekend.  Take care all of you.

Thanks to my good friend Sara for this tag!

Great pictures Sandra.  Yes, I know how fish smell, every so often we have to clean the pond out.  Well, it is not the fish that smell it is the damned mud.  Elizabeth was brilliant. If Mirren does not get an award there is no justice.

Thats some fish...wish it had been on my line...is that a carp ? looks in beautiful condition. My dad once had a swan attack him - because he had hooked a cygnet - and  the swan was not happy... know what you mean about the smell of keepnets - Urgh horrible - never thought of  using fabric conditioner. (good idea) hope you find work soon I would think there will be plenty about with Chridtmas coming......Ally

So happy you got to go out...and shop for plants.  I am so sorry about Jim's mum...happy you got to visit with his sister....that sounded like a nice time.  I need a job too...but will wait til November to go and look...I know what you mean about Danny and your concerns...as you know...I have adult kids...always a concern, part of Motherhood, right??  We just sit backa and wait things out.  Hope he is okay...
You take care of yourself and have a wonderful weekend Sandra, hugs,

Well done Jim, that's a fantastic fish - he must be pleased with that! Good luck with the job hunting. If you need to make some money for Christmas, why not ask Jim if he'll hire you to run his eBay sideline!

Did i ever tell you that i thought when you had a baby and it turned 18 that your parenting days were over and things were perfect till death?!! LOL  I used to think that when i was young. I hope Danny gets it all straightened out. What does Jim say about it all? Nice pics of Fisherman Jim. I dont understand why a person has to throw the fish back. Arent you there to get it to eat?    Take care, love you, lj

Hello friend, sorry for the late comment but I got way behind on my reading. If I told you this before or you already know, please forgive me. I am begging everyone! I have created a new journal. It is by and for the disabled. I have just started it so there isn't much there but I hope to have everyone helping me with it. It has journals of disabled people and websites that can help. Please come and read the first entry. It will explain everything. If you know someone who is disabled and has a journal or you have a website that can help, please let them know. Help me spread the word. I can't do this alone. Thank you! Tammy
