Hello everyone,
Firstly I`d like to tell you about our roast dinner at the carvery. We were so looking forward to it but when we got there we were told that there was a fifty minute wait. We are used to waiting but not that long. We were both really hungry and the smell of that delicious food didn`t help, so we opted to try somewhere else. That somewhere was another restaurant that also does tasty Sunday roasts. We were seated straight away. We waited just over ten minutes for our order to be brought to our table. We both had roast beef, yorkshire pud, roast and mashed potatoes, carrots, cabbage and brocolli. It was delicious and were certainly glad we didn`t wait at the carvery. When we got up to leave Jim noticed in time mthat the candle on the next table had set light to the menu. So Jim the potential hero, put it out, thus saving one of our favourite eating places from burning down! Afterwards though, when we thought about it, it could have been serious. Oh well, no matter, all`s well that ends well.
Meet my beautiful baby daughter Kerry at 7 months olf, accompanied by my youthful-looking brother Cliff aged 14yrs. I was browsing through some old photo albums to day and thought it was a good idea to share some of them with you. It wasn`t tel I looked at this one that I realised just how much Roman resembles his mum. As for my brother, well I`d forgotten just how young he was when Kerry was born, he`s 8 and a half years younger than me and the age gap is much more noticable when you are younger.
I think I`ve been very brave posting this one. It was taken in Minorca in 1987. Kerry would have been nearly 14 while Daniel ( he was always Daniel to me back then) was just 10. Jim and I look so young and Jim has all of his hair, shame about the fashions back then though, that dress I`m wearing is horrible. It had shoulder pads!
This afternoon I went for a walk with Kerry and it was really cool out. It was a nice walk but I was glad to get home and feel warm again. I actually put the heating on this morning, the first time I`ve done that. I`ve had it on some evenings but never in the morning.
My throat is still sore, it`s been a week tomorrow when I first had symptoms. I`m fed-up with it now and I want the nasty little bugs to go away and bother someone else, I`ve had my turn... lol! Mind you, Kerry says she has a tickly throat so maybe it`s her turn. Kerry had a night out last night with a friend and she said she had a wonderful time. It was the first time she has had an evening out without Slava since Roman was born. This time he stayed home and looked after him, and apparently he was really good for his dad, going to sleep as soon as he was pur in his cot at 9pm. He is sleeping for 5 hours at a time at night and only wakes for his feeds, giving the parents their much needed sleep.
Oh yes, I had forgotten to mention about the mouse that came to stay, and that was weeks ago. Well, we never found where he went but it wasn`t into the trap we set, thankfully, he must have left the house of his own accord once he realised that he couldn`t find a way though to the food sources. Jim and I were both relieved because neither of us wanted to hurt it but obviously he couldn`t stay. Now I hope he doesn`t come back bringing his friends and family with him!
That`s it for now, I will leave you with a funny or two. Have a lovely day and take care.
A mother overheard her daughter`s evening prayers which began: "Dear Peter, please look after Mummy and Daddy......."
She corrected her, saying "Don`t you mean `Dear God`?"
"No," the little girl insisted, "That`s God`s first name. At the end of prayers at Sunday School we always say, ` Thanks Peter God."
A blonde joined a yoga class and she told the teacher she wanted to learn the lotus position.
" How flexible are you?" the instuctor asked.
" Well, I can`t make Thursdays." she replied.

We have a couple of carveries around here Sandra, and to be honest they are not very good at all. I think these sort of places were a good idea when they came out, back have gone downhill. They actually did you a favour by telling you of the long wait, the dinner sounded delicious. Jim to the rescue, tally-ho, well done that man. Great photos, I really enjoyed seeing them.
great pics

I Like the Hello Graphic.Sounds like you had a great meal.I rekon for Jims actions the restraunt should give you a Voucher off your next meal there as you saved em £'s
That was good service you got at the restaurant - meal sounded delicious...Jim should have been awarded a medal - If that fire had got hold it could have been very nasty...Thanks for sharing old photos, them styles will come back again - they usually do. wouldn't want padded shoulders again though...Hope that mouse stay's away - No food is a good way of making them leave...liked your funnies lol...Ally
Glad you found somewhere to eat eventually. Roman is a lot like his mum isn't he?! Hope you are rid of the mouse now, hopefully he is annoying someone else now! Jeannette.xx.
My youngest brother and I are eight years apart too. We are very close to be so split in age. What patutti your Kerry was! MAN I miss that age! I think we were all a little fashion challenged with the shoulder pads idea in the eighties...LOL. Mix equal parts vinegar and honey, take one tablespoon three times daily to help with that sore throat. The vinegar will kill bacteria, and the honey will soothe. ;) C. http://journals.aol.com/gdireneoe/thedailies

It's nice seeing other peoples old photo's. My youngest brother is nearly 20 years younger than me. I'm the eldest - used to get the blame for everything lol. As for shoulder pads, first thing I do with them is cut them out. Makes me look like a martian! Not very hard to - granted. Keep laughing.

Your photos were good, Kerry looked like a doll when she was a baby. Your dinner sounded delicious. Tell Jim to come on over when Ken gets well & go flipping with him. LOL. Helen

My Mum tried to convince me that shoulder pads were a good thing, but I always knew they were wrong ;o) Lovely photo's. I'm glad you eventually got to eat, even if it wasn't where you had planned. Sounds very yummy, and if you hadn't of ended up there, the small fire that Jim noticed and put out could have ended up alot worse, as you said. Well done Jim, and well done the carvery for not having any tables ;o)
Hope you feel all better soon.
