BACK HOME!

Hello everyone........

I took this photo of my darling daughter Kerry and "little man" yesterday.  I just loved the way she was looking at him at that moment.

Today she and Roman came home.   Marshall WENT home and peace has descended on my home once again!  It turns out that Roman was born on M`s birthday, and I always thought that it was the 27th, after all these years that I`ve known her!   She and her hubby, M, have bought a present back for me and another for Kerry.  They bought me a beautiful frame to put a photo of Roman in.

Slava came and collected me at 2pm and we went to the hospital to gbring them both home.  I took the above photo of Roman`s first time in outdoor clothes. The big outdoors meant nothing to him however, as he slept through the entire event, not  waking on his arrival home, not even when he was undressed and laid in his moses basket.  Me thinks Little Man is going be a contented baby ( she says with fingers firmly crossed!)

I stayed there until 5pm, tidying away Kerry`s hospital things and sorting out her washing.  My son Danny turned up with flowers and a big Teddy that he and his gitlfriend bought from a shop where you stuff your own teddy bear.  They give you a little heart and you place it inside, making a wish for the baby, then you fill it with stuffing and then a machine stitches it up for you.  You get a `passport` with it`s photograph on it and it`s `family` history!  When you squeeze it`s paw it plays a lullaby..... it`s very cute, but very like Danny to do something like that, he`s so proud to be an uncle.

When I got home I made us all a chicken korma, knowing that neither Kerry or Slava would cook today.  Kerry may be home but she is obviously very tired and sore still and I have ordered her to rest when Roman is sleeping.  I know she didn`t need telling more than once!  They were very pleased with her at the hospital and she has to go back on Tuesday to have the stitches removed. Also she has to take Roman to the hospital to have a vitamin A injection.  I have no idea why babies have them but I`m sure it`s good for them.  Also he had a BCG injection today against TB.  Another thing I didn`t know that babies had, but apparently it`s because we are classed as inner city....we are nowhere near the city, but again, I`m sure it must be a good thing!

I`ll be up early again tomorrow, piles of ironing to do in the morning, and later my sister-in-law and brother-in-law are visiting Kerry and Slava and my presence is required by Kerry.  It should be a nice leisurely sfternoon though with good company.  Up until now Jim has been going to the hospital in the morning as he is on late shift, at least now he only has to walk across the road to see Kerry and Little Man.  I must explain, I started calling Roman `Little Man` almost straight away and it seems to have stuck, so he`ll probably be stuck with his man nanna calling him that forever!

Thank you all so very much for your congratulations on our becoming grandparents.  I have passed on all your good wishes to Kerry and Slava and they are very grateful to you all, and have asked me to pass on their thanks.  Also many thanks to my dear friends JEANNETTE and SARA for linking their journals with mine on that special day.

I just have to go now, but before I do, I HAVE been reading journals but I just don`t have time to read them all everyday.  I don`t always leave comments either but be assured that I am doing my best to keep up with all your news.  Take care all of you and have a lovely weekend.

ANNOUNCING THE NEW ARRIVAL!

He`s here!

Jim and I are very proud to announce the birth of our darling grandson

ROMAN JAMES VASSILYEV

He was born yesterday at 11.06am.  He weighs 7lbs. 12ozs and he is absolutely gorgeous.  Kerry is doing well despite being in a lot of discomfort.  The hospital and staff are terrific and none of us can fault them.  Kerry told me that Slava was wonderful throughout and he can`t stop looking at his new son.  I`ll be back at the hospital this afternoon and will keep you updated on the progress of them all.  I will leave you with a couple more photos.

I also have to announce that Jen guessed the date of Roman`s birth correctly.  Why not visit her and congratulate her for getting it right!

A BLUSTERY DAY

Hello everyone......

I made the above collage from photos freely available on the net.  Several of you remarked on the Strand on the Green so I thought I`d see what I could find.   And would you believe the pub in the background, The Bulls Head, is the one where we went for our dinner last Friday, although the weather was much better then.  The two benches shown are the ones where we were sitting too.  The others show some of the pretty riverside houses dotted along the walkway, the main road of Strand and the river there by night.  For anyone who has been to London, you would have to admit this place is more like a quiet village,  not a suburb of our capiral city with all it`s hustle and bustle.  There are only two downsides of living there from what I can tell.  If you live to close to the river, there is the everpresent danger of flooding, leading to huge insurance premiums.  And secondly, the property there costs a fortune so you have to be pretty well off to live there in the first place!

It`s still raining steadily here, hopefully filling up our reservoirs, but according to our newspapers, no it`s not, we need a great deal more for that to happen.  But, in the north of the country they are awash with the stuff.  People are now calling for a national grid so water will be shared out equally.  We can never cope with weather in this country, we just don`t know how to deal with extremes.  It`s so obvious our climate is changing and are the authorities ready for it....that`ll be the day!

It`s also pretty cool at the moment and Jim and I both felt it this morning when we took the dogs out.  We went to the back field and it was really chilly there.  When we got home we were cold and wet, with two very damp dogs to dry off.  I remarked to Jim that the rain had made my hair go frizzy and he replied that I`m lucky to have hair to go frizzy, as he doesn`t have that problem!

At the moment I have Kerry sleeping on our sofa.  I took her shopping for a few bits and pieces and when we got home she said she`d like a little cat nap.  That was an hour ago, she`s very tired so I`ll leave her until she wakes of her own accord.  At least she`ll be rested because she didn`t sleep a wink last night. Not long to go now!

Thats me done for today, I won`t be around much romorrow as I have avery busy day, but enjoy the rest of today and look after yourselves.

BLONDE ON BLONDES

"How come you`re late?" asks the barman as the blonde waitress walks in the door.

"It was awful," she explains.  "I was walking down the street and there was a terrible accident.  A man had been thrown from his car and was lying in the middle of the road.  He had a broken leg and fractured skull and there was blood everywhere.  Thank goodness I took that first-aid course and all my training came back to me in a minute."

"What did you do?" asks the barman.

"I sat down and put my head between my knees to keep me from fainting!"

ONE SMART PUPPY

A local business was looking for office help.  They put a sign in the window stating the following:  "Help Wanted.  Must be able to type, must be good with a computer, and must be bilingual.  We are an Equal Oppurtunities Employer."

A short time afterwards, a dog trotted up to the window, saw the sign and went inside.  He looked at the receptionist and wagged his tail, then walked over to the sign, looked at it and whined.

Getting the idea, the receptionist got the office manager who looked at the dog and was surprised to say the least.  However the dog looked determined, so he lead him into the office.  Inside, the dog jumped up on a chair and stared at the manager.

The manager sais, "I can`t hire you.  The sign says you have to be able to type."  The dog jumped down, went to the typewriter and proceeded to type out a perfect letter.  He took out the letter and gave it to the manager then jumped back on the chair.  The manager was stunned but then told the dog, "The sign says you have to be good with a computer."

The dog went to the computer and proceeded to enter and execute a perfect program that worked flawlessly the first time.  By this time the manager was totally dumbfounded.

He looked at the dog and said, "I realise that you are a very intelligent dog and have some interesting abilities, but I still can`t give you a job."

The dog jumped down and went to a copy of the sign and put his paw on the sentence about being an Equal Opportunities Employer.

The manager said, "Yes, but the sign also says you must be bilingual."  The dog looked at the manager and calmly said, "Meow!"

TUESDAY THIS AND THAT

Hello everyone....  Today has been very uneventful but I`m wracking my little brain to see if there`s anything worth mentioning.  Well yes, there is,  Jake was poorly this morning, a reoccurance of colitis and Marshal has a limp in his front leg.  He had this problem before and has medication from the Vet.  Luckily I was given some by M and M when they left him here and I started him back on it straight away.  As for Jake, I`ll keep and eye on him and hope it was a one off.  It could be the stress of having another dog in the house.  The colitis is stress-related so there is a good chance that`a the problem and if so it should settle down quickly.

I`ve just come back from walking the dogs with Jim.   It looks as if we are in for some more rain after a dry and warm day.  It`s remarkable how the weeds in the garden have come back to life so quickly after the rain we`ve had..... and I thought the heatwave had killed them all!    Jim has nearly finished the garden step, just a few stones left now, but he has hurt his neck and is in a bit of pain at the moment, but I don`t think for a moment it will stop him finishing it tomorrow...stubborn man that he is, he`ll just complain about his neck more when it`s finished.  He`s already told me that when he`s finished the patio, he`ll start digging up some old bushes near the end of the garden!   Of course, he has his winter plans in place already.  Firstly, decorate the hallway and lay floor tiles on the downstairs hallway floor.  Then redecorate our bedroom THEN decorate the living roon as it`s looking ` a bit tatty now`!  He was never this keen to do all this work at home when he was younger, but do you hear me complain?   Not likely!

Kerry came over today looking very much as if she might not have long to go.  But she is feeling really well but a little uncomfortable and tired.  I`m saying nothing more.......lol!

That`s me finished for the day.  I`ll leave you with some blonde jokes that I found today.  Enjoy the rest of Tuesday and look after yourselves.

BLONDE ON BLONDES

A blonde, a brunette and a redhead were stuck on a island for years until one day they found a magic lamp.  They rubbed it hard and out popped a genie.   He said he could only grant three wishes and as there were three of them each girl had one wish.

The redhead went first.  " I hate it here, I miss my family and my friends and I want to go home!"

"Your wish is granted,"  said the genie, and off she went.

The brunette said, "I hate it here, it`s too hot and boring and I want to go home too!"

"Your wish is granted," said the genie, and off she went too.

The blonde started crying and said, "I wish my friends were back here!"

**************************************************************

Two blondes were racing down a bumby road in a beat up car to a bank they were going to rob.

"Drive slower," pleads the one in the passenger seat, "I don`t want the nitro in the boot to explode,"

"Relax,"  the driver replies, "even if it did, I`ve got a spare box under the seat.....

************************************************************

A British Airways employee took a call from a blonde asking, "How long is the Concorde flight from London to New York?"

"Just a minute, if you please," he murmured.  Then, as he turned to check the exact flight time, he heard an equally polite, "Thank you," as the phone went dead.

PHOTOS, PHOTOS, PHOTOS.....

Hello everyone.... and welcome to a cool and damp Monday.  It`s so nice having weather like this after all the heatwave.  The garden must have breathed a sigh of relief as the heavens opened Saturday night.   After I`d saved yesterday`s entry I remembered what I`d forgotten to say.  After all this time I have been editing Kerry and Slava`s wedding photos and putting them in an album.  We actually bought the album after the blessing last April but never got around to trawling through the photos.  What I`ve done is look at the wedding photos from Russia and the ones from over here, and seeing which ones would be the best to use.  I`ve edited all of them and still have a way to go.  I`ve been practising with cut out shapes, ie hearts, to give the photos a little extra.  Though I say it myself,  so far I`m quite pleased with them.  It`s all very painstaking and slow and I`ll have to stop for a while when baby comes and then our holidays, but there`s no rush and it`s not as if there is any hurry to get them finished.

As you can see, I`ve posted a photo of Jake and Marshall together, at one of the rare moments that the two of them would be still enough for me to capture them.  Marshall is, despite his size, just a puppy and we,  Jake included certainly have our hands ( and paws) full.  He is into everything and everywhere I turn he is behind me.  I`m sure before the week is out I will have trodden on him more times than I can count.  He really looks fierce, though looks can be deceptive, he is really just a pussy cat and is really soppy.  Of course other people don`t know that and we are not expecting any intruders in the near future!

I`m expecting to see Kerry quite soon.  She has a friend visiting at the moment but will come over afterwards.  She told me she is getting apprehensive over her big day and is getting almost no sleep now.  Oh well, not long to wait now.  Not much else has happened so I`ll sign off with some funnies.  Have a good day and take care.

DID YOU EVER WONDER......

Why does the sun lighten our hair, but darken our skin?

Why doesn`t glue stick to the inside of the bottle?

Why is "abbreviated" such a long word?

Why is it that rain drops but snow falls?

Why is the man who invests your money called a broker?

Why is a boxing ring square?

Why isn`t there mouse flovoured cat food?

Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called the rush hour?

Why isn`t there a special name for the tops of your feet?

IT`S ONLY ME!

 Hello everyone.....   I`m back.

I`m not feeling at my best but never mind, I`ve had a couple of days off from here and now I must think of something to say.

We had Marshall, the german shepherd over for Thursday night to see how he got on with Jake in our house.   They got on really well once Jake laid down a few ground rules.  Marshall is only eight months old and Jake doesn`t quite have his `get up and go`.  Well he does,  he may only be two himself but he prefers to draw breath occasionally before doing another couple of laps of the garden!  Tonight Marshall is back for a week while his owners have a weeks holiday.

Since Thursday I haven`t felt very well, very nauseaus with a headache and sore throat.  It`s just viral but not very nice, I think I need a bit extra sleep at the moment.

On Friday we went out for the family meal in the afternoon.  despite feeling unwell I decided to go and hope for the best.  I`m am so glad that I did too. There were sixteen of us altogether and we had a lovely afternoon by the river at Strand-on-the-Green, West London.  It is like a little village there, with little cottages that were built 300 years ago.  You would never know that you were in the middle of London, it`s just so pretty.  Kerry came with us and really enjoyed herself and like us, and thought how nice it was to sit there with good food and watch the river go by.

Kerry now knows the date she will have the ceasarean, but I`m not telling you until the baby is safely here.  I also can tell you that one of you guessed correctly the date of the birth.  I`ll keep that quiet till later too!

Yesterday my son Danny came to see us.  He and I have had some issues in the past few weeks but things seem better between us for now.  I worry so much about him as he has always been a bit depressive and I know things aren`t good in his private life.  I would like to explain things a bit more, but all I will say is that he is in a bad relationship, and that I wish he could find happiness elsewhere.  I always try to stay out of his private life as it isn`t my business anyway, but sometimes it`s really hard.  Whoever said parenting gets easier as children grow up?!

Today the much needed rain fell steadily, and though it`s dry at the moment I`m hoping for lots more to come, though Jim wanted to finish off the patio today, he`ll have to wait till tomorrow.   I now have the bistro table and chairs for the patio, I`ll take a photo when it`s put together and outside.  We looked all over for one and they are all about the same price.  This one looks the best of all of them and it`s weatherproof, though I`ll still cover it in winter.   I can`t wait to have my breakfast on the patio...sounds posh eh?

Thanks again to everyone who has sent their dog photos to me.  I`m still waiting on some and I doubt I`m be able to do anything with them until after my holiday.  They are all edited and filed away ready for me to use them so don`t think I`ve forgotten.  I know there is something else I wanted to say but again it escapes me....my memory is getting terrible.  Either it`s my age or because there is so much going on in my head....ot both!  Well all of you have a lovely day and take care of yourselves.  I leave you with some funnies.

FAMOUS LAST WORDS

Noo, these windows are ok to lean on.

Don`t worry it has airbags.

Hey, what`s that buzzing noise?

Don`t worry, it`s not that deep.

Hey look, there`s a light at the end of the tunnel.

Don`t touch that red button.

So, you`re a cannibal.

Are you sure the power is off?

THURSDAY`S TRIFLE

Hello everyone.......      I can`t access my ftp space today.  `Too many gateway sessions` it says.  This has happened to me before and it cleared itself in the end.  I`ll have to make do today with ones already uploaded or smileys.      It has been another hot, dry day here, though the forecast is to expect rain at the weekend....... we`ll see.   This morning I went food shopping in Tesco`s, they are moving into a huge new store on the 1st August.  It will apparently have 1500 staff and lots of different departments. It is going to be the biggest Tesco`s in Europe.  We are sure it will `kill off` the High Street as the new store sells everything.  When it opens I`ll tell you all about it.  As I was saying, I was doing the food shopping and there were countless bargains.  My cupboards are jam packed and my weekly bill is quite low.... that I like!   I was back home at 9.30am, had it all packed away by 10 and went out with Jake straight away.  We picked Kerry up en route and took her with us for her daily exercise.  We walked a little bit further today but in a circular direction so we were never too far away from home at any time, just in case.  When she went home this afternoon she told me she felt like making something tasty.   She made a lovely strawberry trifle with a recipe she downloaded from the internet, mmmm it was delicious, very rich,  but really yummy!      Tomorrow we are going for a family meal in the afternoon.  It is the anniversary of Jim`s Dad`s passing just two years ago. Last year we all thought it would be a good idea to remember him this way, it`s the sort of thing he would have approved of.  Kerryis coming with us as we won`t be out late and some of her cousins will be there too.  We should all have a very pleasant afternoon.       Jake has done it again , not content with attacking my cherry tree AGAIN, he has now started chewing one of the older fence panels.  I`ve managed to hide the pieces of broken wood from Jim but I just hope he doesn`t notice the teethmarks on the panel.....!    The cherry tree is to be reinforced with plastic tubing around the trunk, or what`s left of it and I`ve built a barrier of bricks surrounding the protective cover that has been around the tree since it was planted.  I don`t know how he managed it because I`ve been watching him like a hawk.  I haven`t even been leaving him outside while I`m on the computer.  Oh well... I suppose that`s one of the little things I will have to put up with while I have the pleasure of being owned by Jake.      This evening Jake`s German Shepherd friend Marshall is coming to stay for the night.  He is about 8 mths old but is already bigger than Jake.  They are great friends and there shouldn`t be a problem.  If all goes well we will have Marshall all next week while his owners, M and M take their little ones on holiday.  That should be fun....double trouble...lol!      That`s about it from me today, so have a lovely evening and please do take care, and I`ll leave you with some funnies.

JUST A JOKE

Two guys were walking through the woods one day when one of them glanced behind them and noticed a bear following them.  He could see that the bear hadn`t seen them yet,  so he quickly sat on the ground and began taking off his hiking boots.

By the time his friend noticed him sitting there, he had pulled his running shoes out of his backpack and was putting them on.  His friend said,  "What are you doing?" The other guy pointed up the trail to reveal the bear coming towards them slowly but surely.

He said,  "Man, you`re crazy.  There`s no way you can outrun that bear!!"

As he was standing up,  the other guy said,

"I don`t have to outrun the bear, I only have to outrun you!"

WASPS AND WATER

Hello everyone......

Welcome to a beautiful English summer`s day.  Sunny and not TOO hot with a lovely fresh breeze blowing. We do badly need some rain though as we haven`t had any of substance for months.  Even the downpour we had the other day soon dried up leaving the garden bone dry again.  I`m watering my window boxes twice daily just to maintain them and I feel quite guilty giving so much water to a few summer flowers but I won`t let them die.  We`ll have a hosepipe ban very soon, I`m sure.  My fifty gallon water barrel is almost empty....fifty gallons, just for my two windowboxes!

Kerry came for a walk with me and Jake again, she is looking better everyday, and walking quite well too.  In fact, she made me laugh this morning, we were both eating a bar of chocolate whilst walking down the road, when a wasp started to hover around Kerry.  When it got to persistant she broke into run to escape it. It was the fastest I`d seen her move for months!

My friend B. came over to see me today.  She`s recently been to Spain on holiday and she was telling me all about it.  It sounds lovely and we may be going with them next year.  Next years holiday already..... I do like to plan ahead.

Jim went to the dentist yesterday to see about his broken tooth.  He is going back tomorrow to be fitted for a crown.  It is going to cost a kings ransom but he doesn`t really have a choice, unless he wants to walk around without a front tooth!   Luckily we are in a dental plan, but it will still cost quite a bit. Life is just one big expense.

The other day I made some sweet potato wedges which we had with fish.  I`ve never had sweet potato before but I didn`t care that much for it.  Maybe I`ll try to cook it another way but I couldn`t eat it like that again.  Does anyone know a good way to cook them?

I`ve sent out emails with requests for friends in J-Land to send me photos and names of their dogs.  If I have forgotten you I`m sorry, if you would like to participate by sending me a photo for a forthcoming journal entry I have planned, I`d very much appreciate your help.  That`s it for now friends, have a lovely day and take care of yourselves.

WHERE`S THE RAIN THEN.....?

Hello everyone.....

D`you like my new graphic?  I love the expression on Jake`s face so I thought I`d edit the photo.  At the moment I`m eating some salted cashew and macadamia nuts....they are so tasty.  The only thing with them is I could sit and eat them all day!

The rain that I was so overjoyed over has disappeared and we are back to being very dry, but cooler.  The wind is quite strong and hopefully more clouds will form and bring us enough rain to really give the ground a soaking.  Even the weeds are dying in my garden!

I am getting rid of my weatherpixie as she hasn`t changed from the time I placed her in my "All about me" section.  She is supposed to change as the day goes on but I`ve lost patience with her now,,,,,maybe she just prefers the hot, sunny weather.

This morning Kerry came for a walk with me and Jake when went to the local Post Office.  It`s a nice walk for her and gives her that bit of gentle exercise without overdoing it.  I had a parcel to post for Jim, who has just sold another item through eBay.  He sells quite a bit of stuff, not enough to for him to get rich but he makes a profit.  The Post Office is a tiny country house and has a stable type door.  There were only three people in front of us, but we had to wait outside as the place was full.

This afternoon I went to Kerry`s for a few hours.  We just sat around sorting out baby clothes.  We found that she has 19 sleep suits ranging from birth to 9 mths.  15 pairs of trousers and dungarees, again up to 9 mths. A dozen short sleeve T-shirts and 10 long sleeve.  There is just so much stuff.  As Kerry say, the baby has a far better wardrobe than her or Slava!  All that is needed is the baby to put in them!

I`ve been spending quite a bit of time with graphics again.  I`ve been using Microsoft Picture it! Photo 7 and Paint Shop Pro 7.  I`m quite pleased with the progress I`m making but I have a lot to learn with PSP. I`m just using the tags I`ve collected from the Tag Lounge at the moment but I might try to make my own.  I`m going to download some tutorials to help me along.  It`s very time consuming and I have my journals to read.  I need more hours in the day....lol.

I`m going to put something in the oven for dinner....pizza probably, domething quick and easy.  Bye now and have a lovely day.

BLONDE ON BLONDES

A blonde girl enters a store that sells curtains.  She tells the salesman:  "I would like to buy a pink curtain the size of my computer screen".

The surprised salesman replies:  "But madam, computers don`t have curtains..."

And the blonde said:  "Helloooo......  I`ve got Windows!!!!!!

He asks, Any grounds?

Woman:  yeah, about two acres.

Lawyer:  Do you have a grudge?

Woman:  No, we have a car port.

Lawyer:  Does your husband beat you up in the morning?

Woman:  No, I get up before him.

Agitated lawyer:  Well, so you or don`t you want a divorce?

HOORAY!..... IT`S RAINING

Hello everyone.......  It`s raining at last!   Lots and lots of nice heavy rain.  This is one evening where I won`t be lugging heavy watering cans round the garden, or dragging a leaky hosepipe that drips as much water over me as the flowers.

Well, Kerry went for her last minute scan and yes, the baby is still breech, laying sideways in fact, and with very little room to move.  The doctor advised against moving him at this late stage as there is only a 5 per cent success rate, and after explaining all the things that can go wrong with the manuoevre, Kerry and Slava decided against it too.  So Kerry has been booked in for a ceasarean for sometime next week.  They will let her know 48hrs before she goes in.  It`s all about waiting now but it will definitely be before her due date of  July 31st.  She is not upset about the op. just apprehensive but our hospital has a specialist Obstetric unit, so she will be in excellent hands.

Jim gave blood today for the twenty-second time.  He thinks it`s very important to give blood and donates whenever they call him.  Jim asked me to post a link to the Blood Donation Service as it is a worthy cause.  I am happy to do so because I can`t donate because of my medication, but any of you out there who can, give it a go!

I took my car for it`s MOT test this morning and I`m happy to say it passed, which is good as my road tax is due at the end of the month.....more expense!    Jake decided last night to restart his career in landscape gardening.  First off, he chewed the  rose off of the watering can, then he started on the various shrubs, breaking just a twig here and there, but then he disgraced himself.  My beloved cherry tree sapling that I have nurtured since the Spring, protected with a wire Jake-proof surround that was steaked to the ground with metal pegs, is now stripped of it`s bark at the base by a persistant Jake, who had managed to remove the surround complete with metal pegs.  So, does anyone want a loveable black labdrador with a penchant for gardening ....lol  ?!  It`s hard to stay angry with him for long though, those big brown eyes and soppy expression just make me melt inside!

Jim has just returned home soaking wet with Jake wetter still . Don`t you just love the rain?  Have a lovely evening everyone, and take care.

HEAT, TRAVEL AND ORANGE JUICE

everybody....... and welcome to a very hot Sunday.  The sky has been clear and blue all day with not a sign of a cloud anywhere.  I will be very happy when it cools down just a little, the day is okay but I can`t sleep and I`m lucky to get a couple of unbroken hours sleep.  All in all no more than five overall.  The way things are going I`ll be carrying my luggage in the bags under my eyes when we go on holiday!

Jim is much closer to getting the patio finished.  He just has the back doorstep to do and that`s it until next year when he will have dreamt up his next project.  I wouldn`t like anyone to think I keep telling him to do all this work.  He just likes to do it as he gets bored on his days off, unless we go out somewhere.  So he finds things to do, which suits me too, but he isn`t driven by a nagging wife....lol!  ( At least not usually!).

Since bathing Jake yesterday,  his coat is nice and soft and shiny, the downside is that it`s also falling out all over the house.  I have a question... As dogs moult so much, why don`t they go bald?...lol

Jim and I went to visit his mum today at the nursing home.  All the windows were open and there was a portable air-conditioner being used but it was still boiling hit in there.  We stayed for an hour and then went on to visit his sister and brother-in-law.  We stayed another hour and then started for home.  Usually there is a lot of traffic on the M4 at that time but the carriageway on our side was clear all the way.  Not so for the drivers going into London, as the traffic tailed back for several miles!  After we came off the motorway we stopped and had dinner at the King William carvery.  I had roast turkey and all the trimmings, it was delicious and even more so as I didn`t have to cook it myself.  Usually on a sunday this restautant is full to capacity with famillies but I think the hot weather deterred a lot of people, whereby making the way clear for us to get our food straight away.  We sat near a airconditioner unit and I had an ice cold drink of fresh orangejuice with ice....so refreshing.

I`m signing off now as Jim and I will be taking Jake for his evening walk very soon.  Enjoy the evening and take care all of you.  I`ll leave you with some blonde jokes......
