Wheelbarrows and Viruses

Hello everyone,

I`ve just been reading the comments from the last two entries that I made and I`m really pleased with the comments you left. I really hoped you like the photos and it seems that you did, like I said, I`m very pleased.

I never got to finish making the wheelbarrow that I started yesterday, a colleague at work finished it off yesterday afternoon, thereby saving me the trouble or the embarrassment of not being able to complete it...lol! Work I was really busy at work today but I didn`t mind at all, it has been a nice sunny day and that always cheers me up. I think tomorrow I`ll have a few aches and pains from lifting some heavy tubs onto the shelves but no matter, I`m sure I`ll survive. The weather forecast isn`t good for tomorrow though, or Friday for that matter. I suppose I should count myself lucky there has been even one sunny day....sigh.

I forgot to say yesterday from where I work in the shop I saw a Red Kite flying directly overhead. I haven`t seen one since about June last year and wondered how long it would be before I saw another. It must have been looking for prey because it didn`t seem to be going anywhere in particular, just looking around. Because of the grey, wet weather I didn`t see it`s wonderful red plummage but I was very happy to see the Kite back again and I`ll be watching out for another sighting as they aren`t very common and they don`t often come this far from the Downs.

Poor Roman has the flu-like virus that Kerry and Jim have. Kerry said he didn`t seem very well when he came home from pre-school but now he has a temperature and is complaining of a headache. I spoke to him a little while ago and told him to be a good boy and Mummy would look after him. Then I asked him if he`d like a milkshake (he hasn`t been drinking anything) and Kerry told me he nodded his head, bless him. I wouldn`t be surprised if he is over this virus before Kerry and Jim are fully recovered, children having the ability to bounce back to health so quickly.

Jim didn`t go and collect the new chairs even though he feels much better today. I told him that a few days won`t make any difference and to leave it until he feels up to it. He went out for a walk with Jake this morning and he said he felt much better for it. Now he`s feeling better I just hope I don`t catch it. I`ve taken every precaution so I can only hope for the best with all the nasty viruses and infections that are going around at the moment.

Right, time to go now, it`s almost time for my evening meal and I`m looking forward to it but the thing is I have no idea what to cook...lol!  Bye Bye for now. :o)

Glad you did not have to finish the wheelbarrow, so sorry little Roman has the bug now so soon after his holiday but like you said they bounce back so quickly.  What a pretty graphic at the top of your page.  Glad Jim is feeling better.  Yes, it was nice to see the sun although it was gone by afternoon here but at least it stayed dry.  How lovely to see a red kite.  I have not seen one for over twenty years when I was last in Wales xxxxxx

Well...I for one REALLY enjoyed your pictures of Russia. It is a place I have always wanted to see and probably will not in this lifetime. But, I've also learned to never say never. I do have a friend working there who has invited me to come visit....so we never do know do we?
Poor Roman getting sick. I hope everyone feels better soon and that you stay well. Hope you picked out something yummy to cook tonight!

You were lucky with that wheelbarrow I think.  I don't think I have ever seen a Red Kite in the wild.
Poor Roman, so sorry to hear he has the dreaded virus that's going around.  Hope he feels better soon.
Hope you found something nice for tea.
Take care

Hello Sandra,
I'm sorry poor Roman has the flu. That's not fun at all. Here in Vegas the flu and colds are really going around.
Thank you for writing about the "red kite"! You just gave me a great idea. I haven't flown or made a kite in a very, very long time and now I'm going to :). It's really a lot of fun at any age.

Take care,
Gayla

i thought a red kite meant a red kite...you know..the thing you fly with a string. Duh, i am so dumb.
I hope Roman is better! Did he get the shake? That delicious taste and coldness would probably make his throat feel better. Bad weather over here too.

I don't think I've ever seen a kite. I will have to look it up. I am always glad to see one of the few cardinals around here. Glad you didn't have to finish the wheelbarrow! Sorry to hear Roman is ill. Bless him.
Hope the weather doesn't turn too foul.
