Russian Winter photos ~ Final Part

My goodness it`s been an horrendous day weather-wise. The rain has been so heavy, the wind has been blowing hard and the sky almost as dark as night, certainly not a day to make you feel on top of the world.

Jim is home from work with a flu-like virus and though he feels better than yesterday he still feels rather poorly. Still he has me to fetch and carry, make tea, fetch pills, lemonade, an extra pillow, toast and jam, some M&Ms (the ones I took off Roman at the airport) Oh yes, I certainly have been kept busy....man flu is a terrible thing...lol!

Despite the weather I had plenty to do today, I cleaned several more shelves, served a few brave customers and tried to assemble an ornamental wheelbarrow with "easy to understand intructions"...as I said to my manager, "How hard can it be?"  Famous last words, 20 minutes later and no nearer to starting the flippin` thing  she asked how I was getting on.  Do you know she actually laughed at me...lol! Eventually I managed to get the barrow part put together it was time to leave work. I told them I`d finish it in the morning but I`m not as confident as I hoped I sounded!

The above photos are last of the ones Danny took in Russia. I think he`s done a great job considering they were taken in the dark. St.Petersburg really does look pretty in the winter and especially at night.

Jim says that if he feels better tomorrow he`ll go and collect the new chairs from the store, not that it matters, I can wait for them. What DOES matter however is that he gets better soon ans starts decorationg the bedroom....only joking, that can wait until he feels 100% before he get`s stuck into that. Actually we have quite a bit of decorating to be done, when the bedroom is finished the kitchen/diner is in need of a facelift. All it needs is a coat of paint on the ceiling, walls and the doors, fresh varnish on the window sills and some new dining room curtains. The only thing is I have no idea what colour paint I want on the walls, the bedroom I have all planned out but as for the kitchen,  I just hope I have some inspiration.

Anyway, that`s it for today. I hope you all have a lovely evening, take care and Bye Bye.

Great photos Sandra.  He did a good job.  Lol at you and the wheelbarrow, it probably did look comical but hopefully it will stay together.  Nothing like men when they are sick.  No matter how unwell we might be we get little sympathy but if it is them, oh God, the world is at an end.  Hope Jim feels better soon.

Hi Sandra,
I really enjoyed your photos of Russia. This is a place that I probably will never see. I'm fascinated by it all. The city is beautiful! I really like the fountains that they turned the water off but decorated with lights. It's gorgeous!
What is the Hermitage?
The staircase to the tower looks so threatening! I would be going down that very slow! LOL!
Roman is such a dolly in his little hat. What a charmer, indeed!
Thanks for sharing them. They were all great!

The pictures are absolutely beautiful.  I'm so happy you posted Danny's pictures, what an opportunity for the rest of us to get a glimpse of St Petersburg.  I hope everyone is back to 100% by the weekend.  The M & M's are sure to help Jim feel better, I know they'd help me.  LOL   Linda in Washington state

Fantastic night shots. Thanks for sharing them with us. It's so beautiful there. Hope Jim is feeling better. Sounds like you and he are going to have lots of fun redcorating. Think you want to come give me a hand? LOL I've  been trying to get DH to paint my bedroom forever. I can't get up and down on ladders becasue of balance. He'll regret it if I start painting the bottom of the walls going up. LOLOL
Hope you had a good weekend.
Hugs, Barb

Well I think people who laugh at other people who volunteer to assemble flat packs ought to put their money where their mouth is and do it themselves!
