Well they`ve gone.....Danny, Slava and Roman. Their plane to Russia took off at 10am and they should have landed just a few moments ago. Slava and Roman stayed here overnight and I put Roman to bed last night, it was like old times and I loved every minute of it, though I had to convince him that he was going to the airport until this morning and he had to go to sleep first, he was just so excited about going to the airport and going on a plane to Russia. When they left this morning he could only manage to give me a quick kiss and cuddle before telling Jim to "get in the car and drive" he does say some funny things and didn`t stop talking from the moment he woke up early this morning, something tells me he`ll sleep for most of the flight Kerry brought Roman to me late yesterday afternoon along with the suitcases and most important of all, Roman`s little `Thomas` bag packed with his toys and some tasty goodies to eat on the plane. Roman wouldn`t let it out of his sight and kept checking that everything was in its place and ready to go, he didn`t notice that I put a small back of chocolate buttons for him though.
The title of this entry may seem a bit strange but I will explain. When we visited Prague some time before Christmas I bought some traditional gingerbread tree ornaments. After I took the decorations down the other day I placed the gingerbread in a dish on the sideboard. I decided that Roman should have one to eat on the plane as I know he loves it (actually he loves almost everything edible). I put a packet of a star and a bell shape in his bag and thought nothing more about it. Later on I noticed that the dish didn`t have as many gingerbreads as I thought but again thought nothing of it. However.....I looked again later and there were only two left out of about seven...very strange, or not when you consider the evidence that was presented to me. I found one empty packet under a cushion on the settee, surrounded by some crumbs...I found another under one of Roman`s books...another in the hallway and another in the kitchen. It didn`t take a genius to work out who had done it either, it wasn`t me and it wasn`t Jake and there was just one small person in the house...It was the Little Man himself, despite his denials. Oh well, I didn`t want one anyway...lol! One of the gingerbread men he didn`t eat was the devil himself.....
The Devil himself, Prague gingerbread style
When I asked Roman why he hadn`t eaten the biggest and the most colourful he told me it was " a scary monster" and "Roman doesn`t like it"...ok then, very sensible if you ask me, monsters taste awful or so I`m told...lol!. He has after all eaten all the saints, the cathedral and King Wenceslas himself so he obviously knows his good from evil.
Just a moment ago Kerry rang me to say she hasn`t heard from them but they should have landed in St.Petersburg by now, I know she`ll rest easier knowing that they are safe. She`s also very concerned because it`s -14 degress celcius out there and she is worried Roman will be cold. She needed worry because Slava`s mum Nadia has bought a special coat for him and he already has a thick Russian stle winter hat, gloves and scarf. A pair of gloves and thermal socks from Prague to go with his warm trousers and many layers of clothes and a pair of thick-soled boots that Danny bought him for Christmas. Somehow I don`t think there`s much chance of him being cold, not even a little bit.
Kerry is off to Prague on Sunday with her friend Sharon and it`s -6 over there. Also heavy snow is forecast for tomorrow so I hope she takes her warmest clothes, it was only -2 when we were there and that was cold enough....brrr!
Well that`s it for today. I`m waiting to hear that they have arrived in Russia and Kerry will let me know as soon as she hears. Also isn`t it great news about Jeannette`s grandson Daniel who has just had an operation but is home and doing really well. Daniel is just a month younger than Roman and obviously a brave little chap. I hope you all have a lovely weekend, take care. :o)

Oh, it's so exciting......hope you hear from them soon. Eileenx
Well Sandra, Roman is obviously going to grow up very good eating all those saints but avoiding the devil lol. I would hate to even have it in the house, gingerbread or not. I can imagine Roman all wrapped up like a proper Russian, it will seem like summer here to him when he gets back. Thank you for mentioning Daniel. I have just seen him, he looks like he has been in the wars, turns his whole body instead of just his face but that is because they had to cut and stitch internal muscles. Was lovely to see him acting like normal. He said to me "am I bovvered?! Naughty Becky teaching him something from the Catherine Tate show lol

So Roman wouldn't eat the Devil himself. LOL I'm behind so I'll have a couple entries to catch up on. Doesn't sound like Roman has much tp worry about getting cold. Hope they have a good time and you don't get too lonesome for the little guy.
Happy New Year once again!
Hugs, Barb
