Hello everyone,
It`s a miserable, damp day today. We wanted to go out this afternoon just to get some air but we didn`t bother in the end, it was just too wet and where do you go in the rain? Jake had a long walk this morning and somehow he didn`t seem all that keen for another one this afternoon and who could blame him!
This winter we`ve not had many birds in our garden. I filled all the feeders but we`ve hardly had any visitors, just a few starlings, collared doves and magpies and the odd robin. I was very disappointed. On Friday I bought a new feeder that I bought in our shop. It`s bright orange on the top and bottom and is meant to attract the birds and miracle of miracles it worked. Today I was watching blue tits, chaffinches and dunnocks all taking turns at the feeders and I`m so pleased, now I can add other feeders (they have blue and pink ones too!) and hopefully they will tell their friends to come too!
I`ve was busy sorting out cupboards and drawers all morning and I`ve uncovered so much rubbish. I have no idea why I`ve kept this stuff but it`s now been binned and I have more space, hopefully I won`t be filling it with more junk. In the week I`ll be cleaning out the kitchen cupboards, I job I hate but it must be done.
Jim is much, much better now and is busy complaining again, a good sign that he is almost fighting fit...lol! Kerry rang me to tell me that Roman was much better the day after he had the temperature though he had a streaming cold. I talked to him on the phone and he said he was better but had a "runny nose"...lol! I was right about children bouncing back. I still don`t feel right and have a constant headache and was feeling feverish on Thursday night. I know I`m coming down with something and I suspect another cold...sigh.
Last night I woke myself up because I`d bitten my lip but thought no more about it until this morning. I actually have a red bite mark on my bottom lip so I must have been a really hard bite, I won`t be doing that again in a hurry...I hope.
Jim collected the new dining chairs on Thursday and put them together yesterday and I love `em, I`m not sure Jim likes them very much but no matter...I do. I`ll take some photos so you can see what the new set looks like. I`ll also take a photo of the new bird feeder too, it`s certainly different. Must go now because the dinner is ready (chilli in baked potato) and I`m really hungry. Have a lovely evening, Bye. :o)

Ohhhh chili in baked potato sounds good, haven't done that for a long time. And I just bought a 5 pound bag of spuds. I've had very little bird action this year too. Maybe I need to paint my feeder orange. Right now it's white with blue stenciled hearts on it. Happy to hear you're all on the mend but I hope that headache goes away soon. Glad Jim is feeling better. That's so cool that you have so many bird visitors. I should get a bird feeder like that. It never occurred to me that a bright color might attract them better.
Can't wait to see your chairs! Have a good evening!

Wow Sandra, I have had the same problem. Lack of birds in the garden although we keep our feeders full. I will try and have to find some orange ones and see if it works for me. Glad Jim and Roman are feeling better. Ouch at the lip, do not think I have ever done that. Hugs.

I received a "bird watch" request from RSPB just the other day which I have to complete on 25th. I hope some more birds come to visit because all we have had of late are collared doves, blackbirds and magpies! Maybe I should get one of those feeding thingies. Eileenx
You just reminded me that I need more bird feed and need to fill up the feeders before the next snow! Enjoy your weekend.

Birdfeeders this end just attract every starling in town
Hi hon, I'm catching up on your past few post. I absolutely loved the pictures of Russia! Roman is looking more and more like his Dad. I swear the guys were having the most fun sledding....Glad to hear Jim is feeling better. Wonderful news on the return of the varied birds. (Hugs) Indigo
That is good that the sick ones are doing better. I hope you are not coming down with something. I have bit my lips before when I was awake but can't remember ever doing that while asleep. Glad that your new feeder is attracting birds. Helen
It is a dark dreary day here as well and rainy. I read my book all day. Hope you aren't getting a cold, but this weather is definetly condusive to sickness I'm sure.
I'm having a had time keeping my hummingbird feeder full and they will not use a different one, so I have to find another just like the one I have and it is becoming impossible. Later, Joni

HI Sandra, sorry you birds have been avoiding you this year the seed gets so wet and clogged up when it is not eaten regularly. Hi Sandra ,well done in sorting out cupboards and drawers ,I ought to do it but its plucking up the courage and I think you have to be in the mood .

when you sleep have you ever had that sensation that you are falling and you can not stop? I have and hate it. Now you are biting your lip in your sleep! Poor lip. So glad that Roman is better and Jim too but i hope you feel better today. It is below zero here and miserable. Ugh. I am glad the birds came back to your house.
LOVE, lisa jo
Dark, dingy and wet seems to e the order of (nearly every) day, everywhere, at the mment. It's horrid here. If you were to nod off to sleep you would have to think a minute when you woke up as to whether you should be thinking of breakfast or tea!
Ooooo chilli in a baked potato ~ I've got chilli for tea tonight.......your putting ideas into my head lol.........Glad everyone's feeling better and I can't wait to see the pics of the chairs and the birdfeeder :o)

Hey Sandra !!!!!!!!!
Our snow storm in Riverdale, Georgia is over I am sad to say. It was nice to get a little bit of snow. It was nice while it lasted. Even while it was snow we got some birds coming to our bird feeders in our backyard. I am glad to hear that Jim better. I am also glad to hear that Roman is doing better. I do hope that you aren't feeling sick.
Its never fun to bit your lip I have done that a few times myself. I do hope that it isn't hurting. I hope that you all enjoy your new dining chairs. Do take care Sandra and give your family hugs for me.
Take care
Oh Im with you in cleaning out cupboards and clostes. I do not like it one bit but I always feel better once it is done! Glad everyone is slowly feeling better.
Kara :)
Hi Sandra...
sorry to hear you've all been ill and i hope you will all be feeling much better soon. This afternoon has been terrible here we had a down pour too. I also have thrown-out a lot of rubbish from my cupboards, the way i see it is: if its not used its not wanted and its surprising how much there is taking up the space...Take care!

Hello there. Sorry Ihaven't been by in a few days. Bit your lip? Maybe you were having a romantic dream! I wish I had half your energy. I SO need to get to cleaning out drawers, cabinets and closets. I am a terrible packrat. My poor family. If anything would happen to me (God forbid) they would have fits having to clean away all the stuff I have accumulated over the years. We've lived in this house for almsot 25 yrs. That's a LOT of collecting. LOL
How cool that your new bird feeder has attracted new friends to your garden.
Don't work too hard now! Have a good rest of your week.
Hugs, barb
