Miseries, Pain and Explosions...lol!

Hello Everyone,

The last three days I`ve been lurching from one disaster to another.  Not disasters actually, more like episodes. Unless you count the washing machine blowing up....yes, blowing up......on Saturday afternoon, that WAS a disaster as it tripped the fuses and is now as dead as the proverbial Dodo.  We are now awaiting the arrival of a new one, an expense that we could have done without at this time of year. When I heard a loud bang coming from the kitchen, I ran downstairs much to quickly, slipped and pulled a muscle in my leg that is still hurting.  When I`d emptied the machine of my half-rinsed duvet covers, mopped the floor where the water had spilled from the door, I realised that all my work clothes would have to be washed by hand...sigh.  I took me ages to handwash them all, wring them out and hang on the line, thank goodness it was a dry, windy day.  I`m afraid I`m spoiled and can`t imagine life without a washing machine, these hands weren`t made to rub and scrub...lol!

In the afternoon when I was on the computer I had to bend down and turn on the printer. I didn`t look what I was doing, lifted my head up to quickly and collided with the desktop...did I see stars!!!  Now I had a broken washer, a painful leg muscle and a sore head...and it was only the afternoon.....  but there`s more.  Later when bringing in my still dripping washing, the wind blew the rotary line around and it hit me on the head....again!  Luckily for me it was the last time anything went wrong on Saturday.....but there was still Sunday and Monday ...lol!

Sunday was no better accident-wise.  In the course of the day the following occurred:

Burnt hand on iron.

stuck needle in left index finger .

Tore nail on finger next to left index finger, right across the nail bed....OUCH!

Dropped bag of frozen chicken on big toe.

Burnt hand on oven shelf.

That was Sunday all wrapped up for you.  It would have taken forever to tell you how it happened and I don`t want to send you to sleep with boredom...lol!

Today was different again, up till now I`ve had no accidents but from the moment I got to work all the miserable customers seemed to arrive at once.  I don`t get it, I`m polite and am as helpful as I can be.  If I don`t know something I find somebody who does.  Is it enough for some people?  You bet it`s not.  I`d love to be able to tell you exactly what happened today but obviously I can`t do that.  What I will say is that when it was almost time to come home I served an woman and her elderly mother.  They turned my day around, they were both, the most polite, sweet-natured women, anyone would wish to meet.  Then after they left and I was making my way to my car I saw a beautiful Red Kite flying through the trees in the car park.  I saw one when I first started working there if you remember but this time it was just hovering not far above me.  I felt the day had changed with the nice ladies and the glorious bird.  Tomorrow will be a much better day I`m sure.

By the way,  Roman`s leg was much better by Saturday morning so he didn`t need to see a doctor after all.  Today however, he fell over and bit his upper lip, drawing a fair bit of blood.  Kerry said she was really worried but I told her it always looks worse when it`s the mouth because of the saliva.  Again Roman was fine though his lip is a bit sore on the inside.  Anyway, Slava will be here to collect him soon so I`ll go and read some journals.  I want to watch the new series of `I`m a Celebrity...` at 9pm so I`d better get a move on. :o)

Sandra, sounds like you should have stayed in bed on the last few days.  Well, I'm sure you're streak of misfortunate accidents are over for a long time.  And of course the washer always goes bad when there are wet, soggy clothes in it.  It could at least happen at the end of the final spin cycle.   Hope Tuesday is better for you .  Also, glad Roman's leg is ok...but oh my... I bet he has a swollen lip.  Poor little guy...it's tough being a toddler sometimes.  "Cousin" Linda in WA

I think we should wrap you up in a soft, warm blanket and tuck you in bed where you are safe from all the things that can hurt you.  Poor baby.  I hope you are feeling better by the time you read this.  Today HAS to be better.  Take good care.
Hugs,  Kathy

Sandra........I'm sorry that you went through so much. I do hope that the rest of your week goes much much better. I wish I could have been with you to see that Red Kite I would have loved that. I haven't seen "I'm a Celebrity" I don't know if it will come on here in Georgia. It will be Thanksgiving in a few days here in Georgia I will try to get a card to you before the holiday though with the mail you know that can be a crapshoot so I will try to get it off to you. Do take care and I'm sure things will be better for you. Take care Sandra.  Your friend, M.

Oh Sandra, what a terrible time you've had of it lately!  You were battle-worn even before you made it to work on Monday!  Then to take all that verbal abuse from rude people.  I'm so glad that Roman is feeling better.  I'm hoping that this week will be a better one for you!

Love,

Susie
