The Late Edition of The Scribbles

Hello Everyone,

Oh dear...I`m almost overcome with emotion...if I`m not careful I`ll start crying... Am I being sarcastic I hear you ask?  Well, just a tad, It`s just that AOL have finally relented and kindly allowed me to post a comment without me feeling the need to beat my head against the PC in frustration.!

I`ve had a really nice week,  work has gone really well.  I just love this job and look forward to going in each morning, am I alone in that I wonder?  I think it`s because there is no stress involved and it`s certainly not boring. I`m surrounded by all sorts of people, whether they be customers or work colleagues.  I`m learning knew things about plants and gardening everyday and find that I`m giving advice when it`s asked for, something I thought would be beyond me when I started there six weeks ago, six weeks already, can you believe it?  Yesterday I was moving displays around in the shop and I was allowed to arrange a stand the way I thought fit.  Just a small thing in the scheme of things but very important for me.

We`ve just taken delivery of some lovely rose bushes.  Hybrid Teas, Floribundas and Climbers.  The one I particularly liked was the  double flowered `Schoolgirl`, a scented climber with double-flowered orange coloured blossoms.  I might treat myself because it`s the right time to plant and it will flower in the Summer into late Autumn.

I had a bit of a scare with Roman this evening.  He slipped over, got up again and seemed fine,  it seemed nothing at all.  However his left leg kept giving way beneath him and he was getting very upset.  I picked him up and went and phoned Kerry.  She told me to call Slava to take him to A&E but while we were talking he started walking properly again so the panic was over.  Later he started limping again, but this time it was not so bad as before.  I`ll explain to Slava when he gets home and ask him to watch him very carefully over the weekend.  I`m thinking perhaps he pulled a muscle when he slipped, at least I hope that`s all, he seems alright in himself so I`m not unduly concerned for now.  Little Man was exhausted tonight and nearly fell asleep on my lap before I took him to bed at 7 pm.  We did have some fun earlier despite the scare.  He found my yoghurt that I`d hidden from him when I wasn`t looking and I found him trying his best to open it...if I`d left it just a moment longer he would have found a way, he loves yoghurt and would have polished off the whole pot!

I found out more about that accident that happened after our return from Amsterdam:

1) it WAS`NT fatal thank goodness, but the two occupants were taken to hospital.

2) It WAS`NT a police chase but it WAS a stolen car.

3)  It demolished ONE parked car and not two.

It turns out that the owner of the parked car was about to sell it as she is emigrating to Australia next week. She is really upset as I`m sure she won`t get as much from her Insurance company as from a private sale.

As you probably know AOL have been causing me no end of problems this week.  Firstly it has been running so slowly that it took forever to access journals, then once I was in it wouldn`t let me leave a comment,  It kept asking me to for my screenname and password and then told me that I wasn`t a recognised member of AOL...NO?  Then I can stop paying subscriptions and they won`t complain.   How can they when I`m not a member ?...lol!  Anyway it seems that everything is back to normal ( see first paragraph)  Hopefully it will stay that way.

Before I go I want to congratulate two winners of the VIVI awards, I say two because I don`t know the rest just yet.  My dear friend Jeannette of Jeannette`s Jottings has won Best International Award and doesn`t she just deserve it too, Very well done Jeannette!  Then of course there is our Jan of Serendipity, she has won The Lady of The Blog, a huge round of applause for her too, another well deserved win.  So for them both......Three cheers....  Hip Hip Hooray!!!!!

Anyway, I really want to read some journals while I have the chance so I`ll bid you all farewell.  Have a lovely evening and a great weekend.

Oh yes, nearly forgot.  Slava has a new job starting in a couple of weeks.  It`s a much better one than he has  and it has good prospects too.  He also finishes earlier in the evening so Roman will be home in his own bed much earlier.  Good news all round I think!

Cheerio!

I would love a job like yours at a garden centre Sandra. I know a fair bit about plants anyway but would have loved the chance to work with them and maybe get some discount on purchases.  It is obvious how much you like it. Strange about Roman, perhaps he twisted his leg and it was hurting him for a while.  Glad the accident was not fatal.
Aol seems to have been behaving today but you never know with them do you?  Glad you were able to get on and post.
Thank you for your congratulations.  I wish your name had been amongst the winners.xxxx

I'm so glad your AOL problems are solved for now.  It's so frustrating when we having problems logging on or posting an entry!  Isn't it great to enjoy going to work?  I bet more people wished they could say that.  You are very lucky.  I do think you should treat yourself to the rose bush.  It would look beautiful in your garden.
Hugs,  Kathy
